This is an old video, but your hair is beautiful! So pretty. And the clothes came out amazing. I think victorian/edwardian/antique undergarments & inspired pieces are beautiful. That was one of my main motivators to get into sewing! It's unmatched.
Yes! It's so interesting to see the variance of this type of garment, I prefer the open drawers but I can definitely see how snaps can be really convenient in this case!
Usually they had at least two layers over the drawers (petticoat+overdress) so to use the bathroom if you had buttons or snaps you would have to undo those under long skirts which can be inconvenient. Unlike modern underwear where you have to fully take them off to use the restroom edwardian and victorian drawers are made so you don't take them off because of the long skirts they wore. So it's more convenient to not unbutton little buttons under long skirts to use the restroom. I hope that helps clarify!
Thank you! It's a dress I got from H&M in the fall, I usually don't recommend people to go there but I do really love that dress it's really comfortable and it's 100% cotton so it breathes really well
They turned out so cute, I love the pin tucks and all the lace
Thank you! I love the pin tucks too, they were really fun to do and they add a lot of visual interest to the drawers!

I've seen extant garments where crotch was closed with tiny buttons or snaps!

If it is not too personal, why? I'm genuinly curious, since it's quite unlike what we wear today
