Hi everyone, i have a few things to add to this review. First of all, i am not a surfer. Have never surfed on water before. Secondly, i have been surfskating with Yow for 3 months, with asurfskate trainer who taught me 10 classes total. Thirdly, i am just a customer who bought the Andromeda system to put it with my existing deck and wheels. I tried it and it is not as difficult as i thought. I am a 6 feet man who uses longer wheelbase. For Yow, using longer wheelbase limits the turning raDius to be quite wide. For this truck system, i can turn narrow even with longer wheelbase. If you do not wriggle with your feet and uses your shoulder as the driving force. You will have no problem. I also installed Ovni’s hard spring and bushings as i am quite a heavy person. I find the system very enjoyable to use. I think it is perfect for taller person who need to use longer wheelbase but wants a narrow turning radius. Only Swelltech and Ovni offers this. But you need to use the right technique. The finish quality of the product can be improved though.

I'm having flashbacks to wiggling around after you on my Huntington S4! Seems similar to the Sirius, where it's pumpable but you can't really dig into the rails too deeply without falling. Great review as always, Steve!

First video of yours I watched from start to finish. Really good and in depth analysis. Was thinking of buying some of these trucks but after the video I'm not so sure. Especially the manufacturing issues don't give me much confidence. Also the andromeda truck that I thought of getting looks way scarier than anticipated. Really good job Steve, thanks!
My husband and me just tired Sirius 2 days ago and we liked it. Anyway we still don't dare to try Andromeda. We had some experience with carver Cx& C7, Yow S5& Yow S5 Meraki and Curfbord. We love all of their different characters. Sirius gave us totally different feelings, more fun for me and my husband. We made plan to try Andromeda after we become more familiar with Sirius. Hopefully, we enjoy it !
I gave the Ovni Andromeda trucks a try, I quite like them but there are definitely some quirks. First, buying them you have to email and paypal the owner in Brazil? I found that a bit sketchy... Quality is not up to Yow/Carver level, but seems to be holding up fine so far. And I could care less for the rear trucks. All that aside - if you throw a ("waterborne style") rail/lean adapter under the rear truck, you get one of the most surfy and tuneable setups available. The front truck is so loose that playing with bushings in the rear gives a huge range of how it rides/carves - it is the only setup I have where you can tune the board for lots of lean with a wider radius turn, making it my favourite setup for carving at higher speeds. It is probably the closest feel I can get to powder snowboarding - where you have enough lean at speed that you can carve with your weight straight through your feet instead of pressuring one edge of the deck.
@@SurfskateLove that's lame. I have one and I can tell you that they did a pretty good job replicating the Carver CX. My friend has a Carver CX and I can't tell the difference between them. The mechanism is great however the spring becomes shabby very quickly; the assembly is a nightmare for someone with no patience.
