For Sterling Sharpe not to be included in the Hall of Fame is a crime and this is from a Minnesota Vikings fan. This man was unstoppable before the neck injury and the numbers he put up through his 7 years are Hall of Fame numbers.

Abel Mehari listen man i watched this dude play in the early 90's and, coming from a Niners fan, I would say he's 1a in my book as far as the most dominant receiver of that time. Unfortunately, injuries derail many promising careers, and 7 years just isn't enough time to log to be considered a Hall of Famer. Again, not disagreeing with the unstoppable part, cause this dude was straight fire.

+Blackhawk5656 Gale Sayers was MAGIC!!!! If you seen the clips, it is indisputable as to why he is in Canton. it took him 61 Games... That's all he needed to convince us all. He ran with the speed and a unparalleled vision. And you think Barry Sanders had moves...Barry juked you and embarrassed you, Gale made it look pretty.

+damomand Sterling Sharpe should be in the Hall when the veteran's committee wakes up about 15- 20 years from now. He was better than Michael Irvin, and right there with Jerry Rice. RIGHT THERE. He could run every pattern, and he was tough over the middle, and had speed to get deep. Sterling Sharpe was a bad boy...

Sterling Sharpe in a 7 year career w/ the Pack and less than 3 years with Favre:
-league leader in receptions 3 times (led the league in his 2nd year!)
-league leader in TD receptions twice
-5 out of 7 years over 1,000 yards (nearly 6)
-All time team leader in TD receptions in single season (18)
-All time team leader in season receptions (112), owns 2nd highest total (108)
-2nd all time in Packers history in TD receptions (65) (Don Hutson-92 in 11 years)
-Only year didn't lead the team in receptions was rookie year
-Never missed a game (tough SOB if you knew his injury reports)
lot of other stuff not mentioned..

    • @chuckers40
      @chuckers40 7 років тому +21

Sterling Sharpe will get in soon. His name is gaining momentum. Look at Gale Sayers, Kenny Easley, and now Terrell Davis. All had "short"careers (8 years) but they made the most of them. Look At Sterling's career compare to theirs.

Shannon Sharpe! You got me and your brother tearing. “I may be in the Hall of fame, but I am the second best player in my family.” I am glad that portion of your speech got standing ovations. Honor to those that are due. You ar not only good at sports, you are witty and wise. You are an orator. 🤙🤙👌.

Shannon Shapre's humility is a true testament to his greatness both on and off the field. I don't know how big brother Sterling held it together with that whole 2nd best in his family variety Shannon threw at us -- I mean he didn't really, but more so than me at least and I don't even know the man.

That was such a thoughtful, honest speech. He was respectful, grateful and humble in his acknowledgements. I always thought he was a great athlete, but this speech offers insight into him being a great person. It's not easy to admit ones flaws, but he did it unapologetically. Glad to have the opportunity to see such a moving experience. May God continue to bless and keep him.❤

3 things: First, this was in my opinion, the greatest HOF speech I've ever seen. Second, if Gale Sayers was elected to the HOF after an injury-shortened 7 year career, then certainly Sterling Sharpe should be. Third, the only athlete I think may be capable of equaling or surpassing this magnificent speech is none other than Shannon's former teammate, RAY LEWIS.
