We had to tow a car back on the same route. Woralie road. Went in at awinya creek then a car had electrical trouble. No brakes only hand brakes. Having a vehicle at the back for brakes is a great idea. Went to camp and just the engine fuse blown. So lucky. Continued with trip :)
We are going to Moreton at the end of December a bit nervous but more excited. So this vid was really informative. If all goes well, Fraser here we come…. We have a snorkel 😕
Great video guys. Shame about the water damage. We go there ourselves every year. We tow a 2t hybrid behind our Mux. Tyre pressures are the key. Absolutely love the place. Out of interest what was the cost for the tow out?
What brand & and size of batteries & charger & inverter, we took our van across A also stayed a zone 5 got stuck on inskip point some jerk over took us just before the sand and he bogged and we had to stop and lost our momentum lucky our friends pulled us out no problem for the rest of our journey. Keep up the videos great content love watching
Loved your Fraser eps. My husband has now decided that he WILL by a snorkel before our QLD & NT trip next year. Appreciate the footage you shared. Can you tell me which season and episodes you were in on ‘What’s Up Down Under’? I know you were on a few but we missed them when they aired. Would love to see them 📺
Wow what an adventure 😮. Well done on the rescue. I’m meant to be going to Fraser tomorrow, but it’s been torrential rain all day today in Hervey Bay so I’m pretty sure Fraser will be flooded by now 😭PS. What’s up down under was amazing ❤️
Hi . I have been watching for a while and love your content you as a family have inspired us to get out and explore. In the middle of a weight v want situation. Could you please let me know if you think a bull bar and snorkel are a must have item.
Thanks, Craig. That's awesome to hear! Neither are must haves by any means. Not having a snorkel might limit where you can go a little and they're nice insurance. While it's still possible to have an animal strike during the day, your risk is much lower. I wouldn't travel at night or dawn/dusk in a lot of areas without a bullbar.
Another great story. Just for your viewers information could you mention that a permit from National Parks is required to fly a drone in all Queensland National Parks.
Another great vid guys . We are planning on heading around Australia soon and we were thinking of getting a 3.2 ranger but have read nothing but bad reports about the 3.2. You have had no problems so is it just a few people having bad luck? Would love you thoughts.
Thanks guys. There's a lot of Rangers on the road and it seems most have few if any issues. You're always going to hear more about negative experiences than positve ones.
On my 2nd bt50/ranger. Cant rate them highly enough. Got lots of mates with them as well. Pick of the bunch i think, been north- south-snow- heat only thing is get a transmision cooler if your towing a van with the auto
Hey guys. Just a quick one. Would a semi-off road van go to most places you have travelled? We are torn between semi v full off road. Would love to hear some feed back.
Hey! It's a tough one as it's not a black and white decision. The biggest decider for us was making sure our warranty covered us for off-road use. We don't like the term semi-offroad, it's really a marketing gimmick to be honest. I would say you could get to 90% of the places we fo without an off road van but to us, those 10% of places are often the best ones. Hope that helps!
@@TheLifestylePioneers thanks guys. Helps a lot. We found a semi off road which has had a full suspension upgrade, and just out of warranty. As you mentioned definitely a hard decision. 🤙🏻
the tilt tray guys must get a lot of work, we recently saw, at Inskip point, another ute and camper on the back of a tilt tray, being recovered. Was the VW an auto? ( is it OK to be towed in neutral?)
@@TheLifestylePioneers yes it helps! Also the Big Oz Explorers have just released a video where they shared weights for their new Zone Sojourn, basically exactly the same as ours, and the estimated weights was 130kg over actual. Gives some margin for error!
Fraser Island was way better back in the 80s and early 90s before the backpacker invasion that’s why the dingos are now not afraid of people cause the backpackers would feed them even after the rangers told them not too. The dingos would run away if you got with in 50 feet of them, it used to be so nice to sit on the beach and not see another person for days all you would see was wildlife especially the horses which are no longer there we would never go back now but we were lucky to have the many weeks on Fraser back in the 80s and 90s.
We think your channel rocks keep it down to earth and yous will have like minded people follow you journey as long as you want to upload clips. Thanks for sharing some of your life.
@@TheLifestylePioneersGood answer. Didn't mean that that to sound as smart arse as it probably did .That can happen to anyone . I have an Amarok ..Great car and great on the beach ....but they have a lower stance and water tolerance than most 4WDs. Wading depth only .5 of a metre on a standard Rok .Hope your mate got away without too much expense ... Amaroks can be expensive to fix .
True Aussies! Having fun & sticking together, good teaching video.
Thanks Elaine. Appreciate the feedback 👌
Very educational, thank you
Glad it was helpful!
Well done guys on the recovery. Top stuff👍👍👍
Cheers, Graham 👊
Well done on the vehicle recovery.
I love Fraser ! Many great memories from our camping trips.
Thanks Sarita. It's an amazing place
Another great video, yes we have taken our van onto Kari on six different trips, and as you mentioned it’s all about tire pressure, thank you
Awesome 👌Thanks Tim 😊
So much loved this episode. It brought back some great memories. So good that you could help each other. Very impressed!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks, Pam
Great video guys. Next time please get to the valley of the giants. You will love the loop around the big trees. ❤
Sounds good! We'll make sure it's on the list!
Took a 16’ van over in 2005. Was awesome. Not sure I’d have been game to take a 3 ton van over. We’ll done!
It's a little nerve-wracking but a lot of fun!
Hi folks well that was an episode with a difference lol well done on the rescue! Been enjoying your snow adventures on facebook btw. 🙂 cheers Cheryl
It sure was! Thanks Cheryl, really appreciate your support and feedback 🙏
Great vid guys - bad luck about the VW. (Mark @ Weigh 2 TOW)
Thanks Mark 👍Hope you're well mate.
Another great episode and no I’m old I would take a swag not the caravan beautiful place Thanks
Fair enough! Thanks Michael

I think we were lucky it was wet and not very busy at Inskip! Ours is all Enerdrive gear. 400ah Lithium, 40amp DCDC and 2600w inverter 👍
@@TheLifestylePioneers ours is Enerdrive 200amp Lithium 1600w inverter 60 amp ac to dc charger & 40 amp dc 2 dc 5 years old not a lot of choices then.

Great mates 🎉. How much was the tow?
Thanks, Alex. I'm not 100% sure, it was covered by insurance. I think it was a few thousand $$$ though.
Another great story. Just for your viewers information could you mention that a permit from National Parks is required to fly a drone in all Queensland National Parks.
Thanks Bob. Permits aren't required for recreational drones under 2kg 👍
Nice electronic run diesel run thru water.
The electrics didn't play a part here. Water made it's way into the air intake unfortunately.

Hey guys, would you be able to share how much do you think your van weight roughly? Wondering if ours will be within ballpark for a similar trip!

Did Insurance cover the Amarok ? Did it require any Special Insurance ?
I'm nott 100% sure about their insurance policy but it was covered.
@@TheLifestylePioneers Interesting so If I intentionalyy drove into the Ocean I would be covered ?
@@Accolades70 I'm not an insurance expert and certainly not in a position to offer advice. Best to ask your insurance company 👍
Crossing deep water with no snorkel is same as people trying to take a deep breath under water, we both drown.
Yep, pretty much
ZB133, my wife said we are not taking our Zone onto Frazer
😂 Maybe don't take the wife 😉😂
Zone did a uTube on F. I. dragged the Zones to the West Coast.
That would take a bit off effort!
Is there a duck quacking in the background of this🤷🏻♂️
Umm. Not sure. There were a few kids around?
Bad luck everyone, stuff happens hey! Bloody Volkswagen , no wonder they lost the war😂
Yeah that's it mate, a big learning experience.
Why do people think cars are submarines .Don't drive through deep water without a snorkel ...better still don't drive through deep water.
Why did the chicken cross the road?
