Taper with 47 years experience here, you need to keep the rock a quarter of an inch away from the inside of the window frame and absolutely install tear away to keep moisture from the rock, otherwise in time you'll get mold where the rock meets the frame
Amazing technique! I've never seen that tape in the corner detail. And I've never seen that roller! I'm a remodeling contractor, so yeah. But I appreciate your craftswomanship!
Thanks Shorty. U enjoy your videos. I'm primarily a painter but still do lots of other construction including drywall. IMO drywl is more of an artform then a tradecraft. Dont get me wrong ita obviously a trade but I know lots of tradesmen not many tradeswomen but they tend to do pretty ok when doing work outside of there trade , except drywall. I'd also add it was nice to hear your voice yo till no I've only seen shorts. No pun intended 😁
Leave a 1/8” gap between the window and the drywall, and use moisture resistant drywall. Use dyna flex or similar quality caulk to fill gap. This prevents condensation from wicking into your drywall, and creating mold.

Great video. I would also love to see how you cut and install the drywall before you do the corners! Will you post one of the next one you do?

Good vinyl windows shouldn't sweat like aluminum windows.
