Love your voice Luke. The straight tone then vibrato at the end is just beautiful colour and control. You have a stunning sweet spot at 2.50. Your pure tone (without the theatrical twang) is simply beautiful and one of the most pristine colours I have heard in a long while. Thank you for sharing your gift.
Just watched your performance twice a month ago in Shanghai and can never forget your voice as well as this song for the opening scene of “Love never dies”. Finally I’ve memorized all the lyric and hope to hold the “I” at the end as long as you. Obviously it’s not an easy job.
WOW! I have never heard a male singer singing this song hold the "I" at the end for so long. They usually rush past it. I thought Ramin was my favorite but this is AMAZING.
If you want to hear another long note then please check out Anthony Warlow singing it in the song, Granada, LIVE on stage with John Farnham . There is humour in it as well. It's from a concert called 'The Main Event.' Anthony Warlow is an Australian musical theatre performer and John Farnham is Aussie music royalty .Both are fabulous singers. And yes, Luke has a fantastic voice.
This is such a good demonstration of how solid opera technical foundation allowed Luke to express emotion, and then also how actually being an empathetic and genuine musical theatre actor made the whole delivery convincing and allowed the listener/viewer to feel the song. Luke puts it all together so flawlessly. At first I just had a very powerful emotional experience connecting with the song, my chest opened up and relaxed so I could feel it. Luke's clean and heartfelt delivery gave an open portal to spirit and meaning the song. The more times I listened (so far around 15-20 times over a week), the more I realized how this experience I was having was the result of his mastery of the technique. Now I just marvel at this masterpiece.
This. My singing teacher is on the International Opera Stages and id Welsh and I happened to be fortunate enough to find her at my local university... She strives to teach exactly this solid opera technique.. I am a lover of Musical Theatre and it honestly makes such a difference to the singer when the technique is opera based because it completely gives you control.. Hope to get to Lukes standard perhaps some day! 😂
Let me lose a few sentences on your post. It's a nice performance of Luke and a solid singing technique allows him to deliver in that way. Yet, I don't see anything new or different that hasn't been applied by fellow singers before. It is a matter of course that singers who made it their profession have undergone a top musical and singing education which enables them to strive in the business. Actually, the houses are full of high- calibre talents unnoticed by the public as they are not in the limelight. About the opera technical foundation you mentioned, I can say that this is part of the "must have" requirements at the top level but there is still a substantial difference to real opera singers. Especialy audible in the high register. All in all, it is a nice, solid performance from a talented musical singer. Is it outstanding, overwhelming from performances of singers like John Owen Jones and many others? I don't see that.
I think this is my favourite performance that Luke has done, very expressive. We need more performances like this Luke.
Luke is definitely my favourite of the WeoW tribe. Such a rich tone and talent. Hope I get to hear him sing in person one day xx
Luke, the beard really suits you man 🧔. What a voice 👏 bravo

Nah, Ben Lewis beats out the two of them when it comes to this role in LND
OMG! Who are you?! I came across this video and your voice is amazing. Incredible. I've got to find more of your performances.
That's Luke McCall. Watch him take center stage here: ua-cam.com/video/Wv7ceTrYsuY/v-deo.htmlsi=GpOn59QGJgI00Y8W
Someone cast him in a production of TPOTO now!!! Best version I've ever heard aside from official big-name Phantoms! Even better than some of them.
I like Ramin‘s version more.
...well...shit...again...
