Sir one of our managed vessel has a problem with her Main Engine (MAN B&W S50ME-B9.3) in which during maneuvering it will response slowly. From half ahead to full, the response very slow. It will take about 7-10 minutes to pass the critical RPM.

how is fuel quantity being changed tho?
Hello the fuel quantity is changed from electronic controller which gives the signal to fiva system and from there everything is distributed in timing.
Thanks for informations. ı want to ask that normally old type fuel pumps adjust fuel quantity by helicel cut of plunger. How the New type booster can do that. By elektronik control of fiva valve?
Correct now everything is adjusted electronicaly

How is fuel metered? I mean in the MC, its because of the index and the helical cut position. In ME, how does electronic setting translate to mechanical?
I think it's the length of stroke of the plunger as governed by the drain, by the fiva valve timing? Because all volumetric flow in the mechanical world is controlled by the length of stroke, as in the variable displacement pump.

Hello Jonathan please check shock absorbers may it caused by broken springs which is inside.Or maybe there is no maintenance at all to this component.After your findings please informe me about this situation!

Can u pls tell me the use and operation of accumulator in HCU
Hello Noor the word accumulator as it describer lot of things.Like accumulate hydralic pressure.In other words accumulator made in two parts one is filled with nitrogen and other side is oil when hydralic oil compress the nitrogen with help of a membrene this nitrogen gas accumulate a pressure.So when a actuator trigge a signal and lets say fuel must inject this accumulated pressure will help to move a piston or a mechanic part.Also accumulators reduce the delay time to trigge a system.

what is responsible for the amount of fuel does inject on the cylinder cycle depend of the load of engine I mean on the MOP its is see that now we have 30% of fuel index where and what is resposibility for this because in the classic engine it is the fuel rack
As I remember from seminar swash plate position of the hpu correspondence to main engine load.
