  • Of all the Old Testament prophets, Isaiah is thought by many to be the greatest, in part because of his clear prophecies about the Messiah. In this second flight over his book, we see his continued work and how God used his prophecies of both condemnation and comfort to generate change in the individuals he encountered.
This teaching is from our series The Bible from 30,000 Feet - 2018 with Skip Heitzig from Calvary Church.

Especially like idea of “waiting on The Lord” as a waitress who serves Him a meal that He has ordered. And I also could be sent as an Ambassador from the Kingdom where He is King. ❤

He is a human. Be like the Bereans. They checked the Scriptures. We should check the Scriptures. The length of them book is not important. The truth of THE Book is--the Bible's content.

    1 part of book: Confrontation
2nd part of book: Consolation (Hope)
Israel was Judah’s (Southern kingdom) prophet out of Jerusalem
**God will purify through judgement and prepare Israel for its Messiah**
    1st coming: deals with sin
    2nd coming: deals ??
•Isaiah uses the Northern Kingdom as an example for what NOT to do (drunk, idolaters etc)
    - Asked Egypt for help and failed, did not ask for Gods help)
    - Israel fell to the Assyrians in 722 bc (Isaiah’s Prophecy in 28:3)
Cheaper 29) 29:1 woe A’ri’el means lion of God or altar Zion (Jerusalem, Judah)
King Hezekiah (King of the South, Judah)
Ch 30:1 (Northern Kingdom asks Egypt for help and fails to ask God, mission fails)
•• Assyrian took them over **
(Principal: Judah was able to learn from somebody else’s example. (Those who fail to learn from history, are doomed to repeat history)
Antidote from trusting in the flesh:
    Trusting/Waiting on the Lord!
    Foreshadowing a future event:
End of days: Bad economically, a ruler will rise that seems to have ALL the answers (Anti-Christ/Coming Ruler)
17:36 (Chapter 35:1) Prediction of drastic changes that will occur.
    - Radical changes topographically

Galatians 4:4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, I would have thought the best time for Jesus to come would have been when Israel was ready, but I am wrong. The Jews were not ready, but the Gentiles were ready. By coming to his own when he knew in advance they would not receive him, he was coming to save the world. Now that the Gentiles are rejecting him, he is returning to the Jews. The rapture is close.
