Dag is an amazing villain! Just the way the way he taunts Otis and makes it clear he doesn’t fear Otis like he did Ben and even tried to bully him into giving him animals is just criminally good!
I love how skinny and bony he is, not only because it looks cool, but it helps show he has not that strong. He just hides behind the pack and takes cheap shots when the timing’s right. He’s literally spineless.
Dag is an underrated villain IMO. I love his design, and David Koechner usually does comedic roles so it's a bit surprising that he can play a terrifying psycho. He and Ben were easily the best parts of the movie.

Coyote's more the protagonist of his shorts, since protagonists don't have to be the good guys, they just have to be the main character). I feel he and Ben were too good for this movie, and I really hope they get memes soon because they deserve the honor.
I think there is symbolism to him not standing up and fighting to fight off the coyotes, like Ben did. (Other than the fact he was on all 4's to run) I believe it was to show how he was only standing up for himself (to seek revenge for Ben) however when he goes to save the hens he's seen on 2 legs leaving his front legs (arms) available so that he can "...stand up for others"

@@SuperMarioJulian I wonder if Dag The Coyote is dead when defeat since he didn't return in the tv show Back at the barnyard if he didn't die after flying through the air he is probably to afraid to come back that Otis and his gang will beat him even more
Okay here's my theory on Dag's backstory. Dag was born very differently from his pack. He was bullied for being red. His mother was the only one who cared for him. His father physically abused him (which explains the scars). His siblings picked on him non stop and shoved him away during dinner whenever their parents had made a kill. When he grew up, Dag killed his parents and siblings in revenge. Then he ran away only to find a pack of coyotes. They already had a leader, so Dag challenged him to a fight and won successfully. Then the pack and their new leader soon made their way to a rusted out junk yard where they quickly established it as their home. And they found a cow (Otis' mother) and killed her, leaving Ben as the only one to father and raise Otis when he was a calf. From this point on, Ben and Dag became sworn enemies.
He runs like an actual cow here. Cows can’t walk on two legs because their knees would break from the weight. Also, MALE COWS DONT HAVE UDDERS!!!! ONLY FEMALE COWS!!! I know it’s a cartoon but the way the udders hang out is very inappropriate and distracting. Just my opinion.

Dag and the coyotes are the most inspiring characters designed. I love their designs and animations. Especially the fur. It’s so soft and fuzzy 😊😊☺️☺️🤤🤤🤤
Dag may be a ruthless villain who seems to enjoy killing animals for fun, but he's right about the natural order thing. Dag and his gang are coyotes. Coyotes are carnivores. It's in their nature to eat meat and nobody can change that. So even if they try to go vegetarians, they'll still have the crave to eat meat. Look at Freddy the Ferret, he's part of the Barnyard animals and tries to be an herbivore like the rest, but deep down, he still craves chicken meat because of his nature, since ferrets are also carnivores, and we saw how he bit one of the coyote's arms and said it tasted like chicken.
Well, the closest thing this show ever got to a Knight of Cerebus was Snotty Boy in the episode "Snotty's New Pet", where he kidnaps Pip (one of the heroes) and he was willing to feed him to his titular pet snake (that was probably the most atrocious thing he would have ever done in the show), but he also abused that snake to the point where he's too afraid to stand up to him (though he eventually does at the end of that episode, where he eats him), similar to how real-life victims are too afraid to stand up to their abusers.
And he has a point about the natural order part too. Coyotes are carnivores so it's in their nature to eat meat. They can't help it so even if they try going vegan they'll still crave meat.
