I'm not a fan of seasonal characters but I'll still check it out to see how it goes. It's still new content, especially with the Brooklyn Expansion, the level rework will get more players to try out the game without feeling they're far behind because they don't have the Warlords Expansion yet and they've mentioned at the end of the season you will be able to transfer that progress made on your seasonal character to your main character. I'm just trying to view this as optimistic as possible.
So just negate all the hundreds or even thousands of hours it's taken others to get where they are. Yes they will get new players but they will lose alot more that are just so fed up of this stale game with no actual new content.
I was going to say something but I just got on the game and I don't see anything that involves a seasonal character so far in the new update..now I'm wondering if it'll be something added in the future or they straight up didn't follow through on it..I'll continue playing to see if anything seems "off".

eh. since they announced that future seasons will make you roll a new character I have completely lost interest. Especially because it means I will probably have to delete one of my 4 characters to do so (all 4 of my slots are filled with level 40 characters)
I have 1 main 40, 2 keener flips and a level 30 ready to go for a keener when I need to. I have level 30 builds that took forever to get and now they are worthless! Yay team, so great! So excited.
@RogueGold I seriously hope they give us additional slots for seasonal characters. I'm excited yet a bit skeptical on how it'll work since with the addition of seasonal characters that we're no longer the main character or a shared story. We're basically throw away characters.
@@RogueGold I've never seen a game actually do that. That would make sense, but any time I've seen a game do the "seasonal characters" its like people who fill out their character slots are just ignored. Shit, even just letting people "prestige" a character back to level 1 for the season would be acceptable. Still though, starting over again is a non-starter for me in this game. I've beaten the story of both the main game and the expansion 9 times now. I have the leveling experience. I don't need to do it again. Especially not for a game where it doesn't really begin until you get to level 40
I'm happy that what I've been saying for ages is actually happening. Not too happy about this seasonal transition though, it really puts a cramp on Optimization and Expertise.

If that change goes live with the Acostas kneepads, then it'll be the same flow we saw with the Exotic weapons change originally. They started with just having it on the Sacrum Imperium, and didn't really advertise that as a new feature, and then later implemented it to the wider collection with greater patch note coverage.
I was most excited for the exotic gear attribute changing that the community has been predicting. Didn't hear anything about that though. So much for a double crit tardi.
If that feature launches on the new kneepads, they likely wouldn't widen its availability for an update or two. That was the same pattern that Exotic weapons took
I think they took that out world tier, so level 30 no longer matters? So when Black tusk invades, you just have invaded missions like you would at 40. Is my guess.
@santiago3641 Honestly we'll need to see it in action to fully grasp. But my guess is that they just let you go through every Invaded mission/stronghold back-to-back without the previous gaps where you needed to power grind

I hope they do the Hunter Mask from the novels, it sounded cool the way it was described and I'd love to see their take on it. 4. Will doing what they have done with WONY do away with watch mules going forward? 5. While I certainly welcome new players with open arms the Devs need to stop focusing so much on them by dumbing the game and giving them easier access, we grinded our @$$es off to get here, it would be nice to see that really recognized and appreciated, after all we'd hate see see 2 new added and 5 old go away. 6. Is this an option or forced? If it’s forced I quit. I’ll just play Diablo then. Game is good to come back after getting so much stuff done after launch when the game gets improvements. But I’m not restarting a Division character. This is a looter shooter not an ARPG.

I'm not a "season player"... I've been playing Div 2 for nearly 4000 hours, like everybody else farming hours and hours of the same content to have all library skill, best stats, best gears for my builds etc. Now they want us to restart from zero a new character... don't know if the new character will access everything I have earned with my main character ( library, stash etc.). What is really annoying me is that Massive have told us that they could not give us a new character slot for years.... and now they can due to the new season thing. I've not logged in the game yet, but I have 4 character and I don't intend to delete any of them because of the new season thing they're imposing to us. If I cannot create a 5th one then I'm out... uninstall everything. When I think that like many of us I bought the past season things to support the Devs and team etc... just to end up with a "seasonal Diablo like mechanism"... I'll finish with one final thing : I hope that they do not intend to implement that kind of "seasonal thing" in Div 3... but honestly I think they will as it's a great way to earn easy money every 3 months.

Division 2 community y’all are something else.. Destiny 2 just dropped some crazy content and y’all are okay with some reskins and the same well everything since 2019? Shoutout to y’all for being loyal, I can’t knock that.
I think most Division players accept that there is effectively a skeleton crew running this game while Massive works on other projects on behalf of Ubisoft (Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Star Wars Outlaws etc) so updates are going to be relatively small, compared to Bungie being able to throw their entire studio at updates for Destiny 2.
@EdwardAnthonyy My sentiment aligns with Exil, if Division 2 has identical resources to Destiny 2 then I would be far more critical and expect a much higher volume of content. But the team on the game is a fraction of the size, and got rebuilt a few years back meaning none of the original coders or creators are on it anymore.
So considering this news of One EndGame how they are going to play with the new DLC if that is going to be in NYC as teased? Is it a "trap" for players who don't own WONY to get in to the story/manhunt and then "force" them to buy WONY to finish the manhunt or are they going to open that up for free for everyone in the end? Or is it a trap for all the other players and there will be no new DLC at least not in NYC?
Massive, "Hey Blizzard, what's the stupidest possible thing we can do for our game?" Blizzard, "Just follow our playbook for Diablo! Force everyone to use new characters for seasonal content." Massive, "Will that create the artificial player retention we are so desperately hoping for?" Blizzard, "Sure, but only for the 37 players that don't quit!"

Broken Dawn is probably the other one that you read, which yes is a different author and storyline. But Hunted was the third-released Crossroads book, and it's very good if you ever get the chance in the future!
I think it's a feasibility model for when/ if Division 3 goes ahead. Veteran gamers are not the priority at all with the seasonal model. It's blatantly obvious It's all about seeing how seasons can capture new players over and over again where end game, long term players are not the priority. If it works, then you can bet it's all you are going to see in the future of this game. I don't agree with it, I've played countless hours on my main character and won't be playing seasons. It's a big disappointment that a game with so much prospect has not been developed to its potential.
@@kamakrazi sorry, this is for your DZ seasonal guy that is going to poof at the end? You are going to regrind SHD level, proficiency AND expertise every 4 months to have an edge over other disposable toons in the seasonal DZ? Really?
I have to say the seasonal character thing is not something I am down with in any way. It feels the game is more interested in attracting new players than supporting the OGs. When we have put some many hours into the game and grinded it isn't clear how this will work. It feels an ill-considered idea but it may work in practice better than I imagine. However, my first impression is that this isn't great and I am not down with it.
I think the level 40 for all Division 2 players is a nice touch and not everybody is in a position to buy WONY as the cost of living has risen in the UK to such a level even essentials like soap and toothpaste have become a luxury for some people and I am not taking the p*** out of poorer people I am merely just making a statement of the facts. That level 40 is a nice touch for those who still can't afford to buy the expansion. I just hope that what I've just said doesn't come back to bite me in the ass. But you understand what I mean.
i cant log in at 2:10 pm, after a morning spent updating world of warships and division 2. dont see the issue with seasonal characters. works great in diablo 3, and 4. lot of fun. you can have seasonal buffs, which last the whole system and completely change the builds you can come up with - diablo 3 with ethereal weapons was amazing. if the div 2 devs can come up with stuff like that most people will want to have seasonal characters and play them more than main characters as each season comes. HOWEVER: they need more than 4 agents, so people can still have mules, OR massive expansion to stash like having the tabs diablo game does. you will need at least 6 probably more like 8 just for one seasonal agent. diablo games have two slots for a male and female character of each class, and with no real classes in division games thats not really needed but you will probably need a seasonal mule if they dont expand stash some way. so at least two more slots: more like 4 because i think you will want a few days between seasons to sort the mules gear to nonseasonal stash, then same for the seasonal agent just made nonseason, then delete both ready for next season and play your main. i like the idea of level 40 for all. world tiers should have replicated div 1 - the reason i have NEVER replayed all the strongholds in end game is because i worried i would have to de-equip and stash gear to delete an agent who got stuck on a world tier forced on them by this old system, and i couldnt enjoy just dying over and over, without being able to really play. they should always made world tier voluntarily and now its gone entirely as a result - plus they dont have to maintain two complete ecosystems now for people with and without wony. i hope the summer heat thing isnt a test for survival mechanics (find and drink water all the time to stay hydrated or else low stats in combat, same with food) being forced into div 2 since heartlands was cancelled but i didnt hear the survival mechanic dev got fired. and with keener: with all i learned in div 1 and now in div 2, i fully see where he is coming from. the assassination of presidents and senators, the naked grab for power in a global pandemic aftermath etc. in fact, let us the division find the whole truth as a group and swing support to keener - and then 'elect' him as president. that should be an interesting recovery with someone in charge who has finally sorted out his head.
Honestly, I'm not sure about the seasonal character thing. Playing with a Level 1 underpowered character isn't anything exciting especially for veterans.
What about the people who have hard core characters? Do they them self have to grind all the time with a new character without dieing! That's not a horrible slap to the face.
"At the end of each season, all your XP and earned loot will transfer over to your main character." - So it's not 'as bad' as Diablo's and I get the idea behind 'catering a new experience' but I've never been a fan of Diablo's seasonal system, never have been. I don't like the idea of disposable 'time'. I just made a new character a month ago to play with my sisters and trodding through the 1-30 experience, re-collecting, re-unlocking, re-exploring everything was yawn-inducing to the point I nearly fell asleep each session. (I've done about 5 characters total, deleted 2, hardcore 1.) "But it'll be accelerated so players can get to the endgame faster." - then why not just let our main characters play on it? If the important bit was only at the end, why even start over? They're already there, stop wasting the players' time. One of the worst aspects of Diablo 4 is it's propensity to waste and consume your time and it's why I've never played "seasons" in any game (Div2 had currently been an exception). Diablo 4's seasonal gimmick is just a very short side quest, new items, re-balancing of skills, and maybe you've got a pet now, or vampire powers (Current season has nothing). There's no reason 'Seasons' couldn't just happen in what they call "The Eternal Realm". Will Div2 seasons (come Oct) now be replay the entire 1-40 experience, but you have an extra gear slot? Oh but only for the seasonal character? Or you have a mini-wardog pet? Again, I ask, why couldn't this come to the "eternal realm" or our main character? It's not possible for them to redesign 1-40 in a way (like 'what if you're a rogue'- change of quests/Issac/gear/skills) that's actually not 'time wasting' on players' part. Even if they cut off 50% of the time/exp it takes to get to 40, you still have to play through content (in Story difficulty) we've played hundred of times over in the previous seasons. For D4 players, imagine being forced to play through the story each time you start a new character. It's not out yet, and who knows, maybe it's such a cool- amazing change, that just makes Div2 godly fun. All this drama aside, it's unfortunately kind of dampened all my excitement to play the new upcoming season when I was previously so excited.
There's a lot of unanswered questions for now, and that's part of the problem- a change of this magnitude definitely warranted a much more in-depth reveal to eliminate as many confusion points as possible
Im glad that breakpoint got a damage increase, i would have still traded the weapon handling stack for crit damage instead, im glad they got rid of the mag size requirement
HUMM. main character for main gameplay DZ, decent, summit etc , NEW seasonal character for seasonal challenges and what you earn with that, XP gear etc is at end added to main character. a bit like running a mule, could be where they got idea from ! then come the new DLC could expect you enter that with main character to open map up then rinse and repeat with seasonal challenges. extended gear stash could then becomes your seasonal character's !. then with each character's enhancements, buffs etc make them there own style of MOD bringing a different feel to the game when using them. congrats ubisoft for overcomplicating things. lol but cleaver seasonal character puts everyone new to vet at the same starting point hopefully bringing low SHD plays and who are high SHD more together during events. we really just need to dive into it and suck it up and see what happens
They keep pushing Descent and to be honest it’s not that great of a game mode. The amount of rewards you get for the amount of time you have to spend isn’t worth it, especially since the reconstructed cashe isn’t even a guarantee after beating the Nemesis.
Everything from expertise to seasonal characters, all feel like kneejerk decisions the devs are feeling forced to make to support a game never meant to go on this long, and as such, never had the foundation to keep up with this much seasonal content and gear. Nonetheless, they’ve been forced to keep either giving some weapon dump with some form of “progress” and now a new character to get around lack of new tactics and inventory cap. This should have been saved for the sequel’s new foundation, NOT for a change this late in its lifecycle.
✨️Agents attention on seasonal character information 📢!!!!!!!!! The seasonal characters aren't replacing your main characters. You'll still be able to have them, it's just that each season will require another character, which will be known as a "seasonal character". And then there will be your "main characters," which will receive all the rewards from your seasonal characters. You're welcome and GGs to all ⭐️
Stop being so smart and positive because this is so bad. Answer me to this if you can. So basically you won't be playing a main, because you want to actually play the seasonal content right? And your main cannot have that, so what's the purpose of the main. Only to be a stash at the end of every season? When the new season approaches you want to make a new character to enjoy the seasonal content. So basically it will work like PoE where you can easily delete your character from the previous season since you cannot participate in new league mechanics. Everybody is against this. It's a looter shooter without classes and without variety. We don't need Diablo/PoE seasons five years after in looter shooter who doesn't have depth like ARPG games
@@grumpyoldman6503 It's what we've discussed in discord servers quite a lot. Lots of concern about expertise, etc. and main character progression that we made so far.
@PsychoCaki It's sort of a toss-up agent. I honestly feel the devs will review this, and if enough of the community have an issue with it, they may just make your main characters an option for the new seasons. Idk, I feel like they are respectively trying to make things a bit more interesting. However, in that process, they may have slightly jumped the gun here, no harm, no foul, obviously. Companies make mistakes and if this is a big enough mistake (which judging by these comments, it actually might be) I believe the devs will fully address it and come to a conclusion that we can respectively all agree on agent.
The problem is I want to be able to use my main character to complete the damn seasons. It's the whole point me me grinding my character. To be able to complete any of the content I want to complete!
From what I've seen and heard think people are getting confused as if their main character is going. It's not but basically you can still have your main character but you won't be able to the seasonal stuff which in my opinion is a big no for me. I love the game but this just feels like a massive stepback. But I want to use my main for the seasonal stuff and if I can't I don't see the point tbh. Not good for the community I don't blame their anger. Not good 😐
So why even bother outside the manhunt story if what it looks like "everybody"(clearly not everyone but yeah) doesnt want seasonal characters. Kinda just a waste of time aint it? Shoulda waited to do season characters for like divison 3 or something.
i absolutely hate seasonal characters in diablo, and im not gonna like it here any better, i want My Builds i have grinded for, i have 3k hours on this game and this is the first time im actually mildly frustrated with it, not getting to engage with the season AT ALL with my main is stupid, this is not what the division has been why change it now other than having longer player retention.
Maintenance has been extended fit 2 hours so be prepared for another extension the Division Crybabies are at it once again throwing temper tantrums across social media platforms because Ubisofths taken away their toys and they haven't got anything to play with. It's the same thing every time there is maintenance it is inevitable there will be an extension because at times there will be issues or it is taking longer than anticipated to update the game. It happens… life doesn't revolve around The Division I love the game as much as anybody else but I have a life outside the game and family and my kids always come before gaming and always will.
Ooh... that rifle/MMR gear set is lookin' pretty clean. So are Overlord and the Acosta's. I ain't too keen on the seasonal characters, o'course.
I also heavily appreciate the Diamondback Buff - the Diamondbuff, in other words. I love it as a weapon already, and this buff is lookin' pretty juicy. Pog.
I dont see the point of seasonal characters in the division. Diablo it makes sense because you have different classes. I wish they did something different with seasons 2.0, but I'll wait and see when it drops I guess.
Seasonal characters in diablo 4 is why I never played after preseason.

Another POI, more actual content instead of washing rotted content and setting it out as fresh
Im just looking forward to all the new bugs that will implemented into the game and if we'll have to wait a while before basic stuff is fixed by year 12.😂
Right on! Can't wait for that apparel event! Either way, we got some cool plot coming at us.
For sure!
eh. since they announced that future seasons will make you roll a new character I have completely lost interest.
So excited.
@LoudAngryJerk I sincerely doubt they'll launch the system without additional/alternative slots
@RogueGold I seriously hope they give us additional slots for seasonal characters. I'm excited yet a bit skeptical on how it'll work since with the addition of seasonal characters that we're no longer the main character or a shared story. We're basically throw away characters.
@@RogueGoldI thought server space was all full and no new storage could *possibly* be given? No...? That was all bullshit before?
Twitch told me to get my stuff from the inventory and I went there and there was Jack.
i like the idea. i always found i had too little character slots. i like the leveling experience. if it can be with new content and mechanics it would be great for replayability as far as im concerned
So the changes to the exotics on the minor attributes are not coming? They said nothing about this...
If that change goes live with the Acostas kneepads, then it'll be the same flow we saw with the Exotic weapons change originally. They started with just having it on the Sacrum Imperium, and didn't really advertise that as a new feature, and then later implemented it to the wider collection with greater patch note coverage.
On another note. The First Descendants is dropping soon
Yep see you there
Not doing the d4 grind

That's funny
You find one and let me know. I have an 8k hr account id like to sell to someone.
Might as well at this point I am not going to use it any
I was most excited for the exotic gear attribute changing that the community has been predicting. Didn't hear anything about that though. So much for a double crit tardi.
If that feature launches on the new kneepads, they likely wouldn't widen its availability for an update or two. That was the same pattern that Exotic weapons took
This is gonna be good...more players at level 40...a Decent type style season character, no gear score, 86 skill tier, mastery level! I like it💯😤
I still dont understand if this changes how progression for the final missions work (previosuly world tier 1 to 5)
I think they took that out world tier, so level 30 no longer matters?
So when Black tusk invades, you just have invaded missions like you would at 40. Is my guess.
@santiago3641 Honestly we'll need to see it in action to fully grasp. But my guess is that they just let you go through every Invaded mission/stronghold back-to-back without the previous gaps where you needed to power grind

Correct, you can earn your watch entirely in DC if you choose to
You've been busy the past few days, Thank you for all you do.
A few comments as always.
1. I'd like to see the Devs make the Classifieds free for all and give us missions/manhunts/bounties or whatever in those maps.
2. I hope these "Trials" aren't Manhunt/bounties renamed and timed or something silly like that.
6. WE NEED A BLACK FRIDAY SPECIAL EVENT!!
I'd love to play an updated Broadway Emporium type of map or mission in Div 2.

If it's possible to reach level 40 without WONY now, does that mean the new DLC will bring levels beyond 40?
I doubt it will introduce a level increase, but no details have been shared there yet.
I wish they would bring back Sentry’s Call from Div 1
So considering this news of One EndGame how they are going to play with the new DLC if that is going to be in NYC as teased? Is it a "trap" for players who don't own WONY to get in to the story/manhunt and then "force" them to buy WONY to finish the manhunt or are they going to open that up for free for everyone in the end? Or is it a trap for all the other players and there will be no new DLC at least not in NYC?
Massive, "Hey Blizzard, what's the stupidest possible thing we can do for our game?"
Blizzard, "Just follow our playbook for Diablo! Force everyone to use new characters for seasonal content."
Massive, "Will that create the artificial player retention we are so desperately hoping for?"
Blizzard, "Sure, but only for the 37 players that don't quit!"

I think it's a feasibility model for when/ if Division 3 goes ahead. Veteran gamers are not the priority at all with the seasonal model. It's blatantly obvious It's all about seeing how seasons can capture new players over and over again where end game, long term players are not the priority.
But you understand what I mean.

dont see the issue with seasonal characters. works great in diablo 3, and 4. lot of fun. you can have seasonal buffs, which last the whole system and completely change the builds you can come up with - diablo 3 with ethereal weapons was amazing. if the div 2 devs can come up with stuff like that most people will want to have seasonal characters and play them more than main characters as each season comes.
Let's gooooo baby
(I've done about 5 characters total, deleted 2, hardcore 1.)
"But it'll be accelerated so players can get to the endgame faster." - then why not just let our main characters play on it?

HUMM. main character for main gameplay DZ, decent, summit etc , NEW seasonal character for seasonal challenges and what you earn with that, XP gear etc is at end added to main character. a bit like running a mule, could be where they got idea from ! then come the new DLC could expect you enter that with main character to open map up then rinse and repeat with seasonal challenges. extended gear stash could then becomes your seasonal character's !. then with each character's enhancements, buffs etc make them there own style of MOD bringing a different feel to the game when using them. congrats ubisoft for overcomplicating things. lol but cleaver seasonal character puts everyone new to vet at the same starting point hopefully bringing low SHD plays and who are high SHD more together during events. we really just need to dive into it and suck it up and see what happens

You're welcome and GGs to all ⭐️
And when exactly will we be playing our mains since we are always in a season?
Not good 😐
That's a big indeed.

i absolutely hate seasonal characters in diablo, and im not gonna like it here any better, i want My Builds i have grinded for, i have 3k hours on this game and this is the first time im actually mildly frustrated with it, not getting to engage with the season AT ALL with my main is stupid, this is not what the division has been why change it now other than having longer player retention.
Thankfully I married a Girl GamR no that isn't a typo that is her nickname. If the maintenance has been extended go for a walk or read a book and just play something else. But now they always have to have a temper tantrum and throw their teddies out of their pram/buggy. Maybe they need a new Division dummy/pacifier as theirs are word down.
Well back to Diablo 4, Skull and Bones, and Destiny 2.
Kinda feel like i wasted my money on WONY if the just undid all of the story of it i coulda just youtubed it.
Seasonal characters are nothing new, why is it different in this game?
To make things even worse, the developers messed up the xp after the update so it now takes twice as long to level up Season track
No more lv30 dz component farm ☠️
Regular players are still hungry😢
First thing I noticed today was they finally fixed the skin for the Shield Splinterer. That shits been missing for like a year lol
