Yea they do and even through shields tbh. The damage really ignores resists a LOT so if the oponent relies on that a lot, then it just works lol. The worst thing is def the power draw, can't really imagine running 3 And more of them on a shield tank. They really Fun tho and I actually enjoy the firing mode quite a bit, if anything it allows for better precision.
You can use them with a biweave and 2 scbs (pp can be armored+monstered or even double braced sometimes). No prizmo shield of course. As for shieldless kraits, i tested an mk2, and it was pretty useless: too soft hull.
