Clearing crash data on most newer cars is tied to the VIN and takes a much more sophisticated tool. I got lucky on my 2003 Focus as my friend , a pro mechanic knew on my car it is not tied to VIN , so I just went to wrecking yard and took crash recorder out of a car like mine with no damage and HELL YES it worked. I knew my car had some minor damage fixed in left front , enough to write data to recorder but NOT deploy airbag. Not all impacts will set off air bags but data may still be written to recorder which will keep the light on until fixed.
Best to let us know in the first minute what you think and then go over the details. Some folks don't have the time to watch the entire video just to find out that the scanner isn't worth buying. Thanks.
This OBD2 scanner can do check engine light, ABS, SRS and oil reset on most American vehicles from 1996-2016. But some funtions are depended on the specific model :).
Good vid and overview. Regarding the SRS light I imagine it's a safety issue with the airbag, if it was reset with a faulty module it could kill someone by not functioning in an accident.
@@FixingWithPassion Have you been able to connect it to your computer or laptop? I can't get it to, and there's nothing on that download manual about it..smh.
I imagine they dont want just any jo shmo to be be able to easily erase the fact the vehicles been in a wreck. One could crash a vehicle have multiple issues bc of that and then sell it off to the next person unbeknownst to them. Could be a safety issue.
@@FixingWithPassion That all makes sense but then you have replaced the module so that kind of negates that theory which also negates @Stephen Schwarz's theory, too.
I bought a newer version from Amazon and I couldn’t try it out until I missed the returnable date due to having emergency surgery and the long recovery and it won’t power on so that’s a bummer. The power button just lights up the screen but it won’t power on ugh… I’ll call Innova tomorrow and see what they say about it.
Is this a Bidirectional Scanner.? Does it do EGR Reset ? Does it do Fuel Pump scan for Fuel Pressure ? How about Compression test for Spark , Sparkplugs ? Can that scan 2001 02 Toyota Camry is that compatible.?
You should have the engine off when trying to erase the codes. It says right on the screen to turn the engine off and turn the key on before erasing the codes.
Did you contact their customer service ASE certified customer service reps. I'm sure they can tell you if it's possible. Can it graph live data. I think the the 5610 can and was hoping to see somebody show that so far nada.
@@FixingWithPassion I wonder if the fix is done with a part that needs to be replaced inside the ecm I have seen sensors that need to have new icu replaced in order to fix it that's why it needs to be sent in just a theory
I’m looking for my first scanner. Could you tell me if the code came up as a misfire if it would tell you which cylinder it is and what possible solutions like change spark plug or the coil?
I know it's been a month since you commented, but to answer: yes, most scanners will tell you if you have a misfire and which specific cylinder is having the misfire.
Anybody know a way to erase history on the main computer, I have done my own work on cars and taken in for emissions and they wont pass it cuz of the history, here in Illinois you have to have your car looked at by a licensed mech, and have a receipt from them before they will pass you (SUCKS)
I didn’t erase the code cause I don’t know what srs and dts is. 😁 that’s why I’m watching this vid. Didn’t want to erase like something I needed. 🤷🏽♂️
I'm looking at the 6030p, because I'm not a mechanic but need to pull some codes from ABS sensor (bunch of lights came on at once two days ago) Does anyone know if the 6030p will do the job? It seems like it's the same as the 6100p except for the detachable cable.
Hey Nathan to bad you cant clear those hard crash codes maybe once you use it for a while you will figure it out, anyway guys 9 times out of 10 that evap code can be fixed with a new gas cap, I had the same code on my Camry and found that my filler nozzle was rusted badly, I cleaned it up with pad and put a little grease on the cap gasket, problem solved
lmao, you didn't know about the plastic that comes off the whole face because your brain saw the pull tab on the sticker over the screen. There are instructional ques on products that show you what to do. And in this case, they were the problem. not you. Just like commercial doors have a pull handle or a push plate. People are often confused when there is a pull handle on both sides.
oh, please. This is one of the worst scanners I've ever used. I only came here because I cannot get live data to work at all and looking for a workaround. Every time I record live data it goes off in lala land. I know it works because I've seen it working on other scanners. I've written a long review of everything wrong with this on amazon but I haven't published it yet. Don'y know if amz will publish it but the bottom line is there is nothing much useful about this scanner that couldn't get in a cheap $20 knock off with the exception of abs, srs, oil reset which I know enough to test but everything else is just rubbish.

Data locked is always bad.

Over drive light blinking on 006 f150 2006
Can I fix over light from a 2006 F150 how do I fix it
😊well can I fix it
Fix over drive light from blinking
That's a nice scanner . I believe that the zurich line , from harbor freight is made by innova .
Mine didn’t come with a case and batteries
Neither did mine although they were nice enough to ship it with scratches already on the display. Looked like it was an amazon return.
Good review, looks like it's a keeper. I'll buy one. Thanks.
Innova auto sensor 5210
good to know/thanks much
The full manual is online
Great!!
yea, they've cheaped out with the newer shipments. Just comes in the white box, no carry case, no batteries.
Yea.
Is there a small crash switch in the module, it's tripped.

pro trick : watch series on Flixzone. Me and my gf have been using it for watching lots of of movies during the lockdown.
@Eden Jaxon Definitely, have been watching on flixzone} for since november myself =)
Did you try to erase it with key on not running?
Ordered from Amazon and never received the black case as you did. Cheaping out I guess.
O my!
@@FixingWithPassion yeah and I'm a Prime member. Pay more for less 🤣
I noticed at the bottom of the Amazon description: it states case and batteries are not included. I found it after the fact.
The full manual is on the Innova web page.
Cool!
I think you probably had to cycle through all the SRC commands and clear individually. It seems you left one on there.
Yea true

True
I worked in body shop. We never used the same modules we replace them because its physical impossible to erase data like that
are there some scanners where you could control the RPM's from the scanner instead of from the foot pedal ?
Thanks Good Video
When I push the clear bottom does it take all the the codes out at one time or do I have to do one at a time . 6100P
All.
are those batteries only for that lighe at the connector ?
If they go dead, is the scanner out of commission ?
HOLY COW, IT CAME WITH A CASE??? Dang, mine didn't! "Complaint time"..lol.
O man! That bites.

I think its because if you hurt someone in a accident there is no proof or data to collect to say its your fault also.

Na tried that too. I know it says to turn off the engine but I often find some scanners will still erase the codes. (I like to experiment a lot) ;D
Fwiw, I bought this same scanner, and was able to delete codes while riding along, with someone driving.
129 on Amazon right now, wonder if you can find it cheaper?
True...E-bay is about the same.

hello, will this Display live data and troubleshoot upstream and downstream oxygen sensor?
You have to turn off the engine when you erase the codes
True. But some scanner i currently have you can keep the engine running and clear a code ;)
good video bro
Just bummed about the SRS hard data not being able to clear it. Thnaks for watching!

Does it have a cylinder counter that you can watch while engine running ?
It becomes hard coded to allow techs to know of accidents and deployment
I bought the 5610 model bi-directional. Is the 6100 bi-directional?
no bi-directional 6100p
Does it scan the TPMS monitors?
No
I have an 3100, Do you have any idea what is better/ newer with this model?
Hi. Check out Innova’s website: www.innova.com/pages/coverage

Not bad.
Can anyone recommend a scan tool for a Japanese Toyota COASTER HDB51-ZRPQZ 09.1999 build for the Japanese market.
