The Pro Soloist made sense back in the 70s, but I'm the software era why not just get the CA2600 or Arturia 2600? Same underlying ARP modelled circuits, presets galore, more flexibility if needed.
@@ProdByThatGuyFace Lol, good point. Since I've made my comment, I've found out the Pro Soloist was actually quite different than the Odyssey and 2600, it was really it's own thing and unique.
It was the Eagles "I Can't Tell You Why" string sound that Joe Walsh played that convinced me to buy an Arp Omni for around 2 grand, & while it had the classic Arp strings sound, I found the synth section to be unusable. No presets & the sliders made it impossible to get the same sound twice & the sound wasn't all that great. For the most part was it thin, biting & annoying, perfect for the soundtrack to "Attack Of The Killer Bees" but not much else. It was a polyphonic synth but not what I had hoped for. That I can fix all of those problems for $50 is a no-brainer. "Synth Strings 1" is that classic string sound. I will now be able to blend that with real strings to get the Longines Symphonette sound I've been looking for so this very much works for me. Now if we can just get CA to stop evading Sequential Circuits before Christmas, all will be right with the world. Happy Thanksgiving!
