- Yesterday, I made a trip out to the Port of Oakland in hopes of finding one of BNSF's locals from Richmond working the yard and that's just what I found! Ex-ATSF B40-8WR #512 was the power for the L-RIC-1071-21 and I got to watch them switch at the BNSF OIG yard for about an hour. Once done switching their cars, 512 was parked a pair of gevos were fired up to take 6 outbound cars back to Richmond. I was hoping to catch the train one last time, but an unfortunate event forced me to head home before I could film that. Overall, it was a fun trip and I hope to go back out again soon!
I once saw four GP30’s and a hopper car in a Burlington Northern paint scheme not too long ago while on a drive to San Francisco. It was very surprising!
Nice catch!
Nice!
Thank you!! :D
Awesome video! I hope to go out there someday. Too bad the B40 didn't have an RS3L :_(
It's super cool out there! Just gotta watch out for some of the crazy truckers :/. And I know! I wish it had an RS3L. There is one in Richmond that has one too, but they still took 512 which was kinda disappointing
Those dash 8s sure are cool! Great view too.
They are!! Thanks!! The view is great for sure!
Lovely catches! Is it busy around here?
Thanks!! It's not super busy, but it is entertaining to watch them do their switching
