    Wow! Beautiful job! I had a gift shop up until 7 years ago, but I made diapers wreathes and cakes beside gift baskets. I never used that style bag.. I’ll have to try it! I’m now working out of my home. Thank you for sharing!

    This was very helpful. I'm just getting started with my basket business and I really really I had a solid place to sell them rather than do the street thing. But I know I have to start somewhere. Thank you so much for sharing. 🙂

      Thank you for the compliments. Yes you have to start somewhere and honestly sometimes starting small is more beneficial as you can decide how many baskets you want to take on.

    I think shredded paper looks nicest on the bottom of the baskets, not sure about a box

      You are right that would look better but it is not as solid. We honestly use the box because we have hundreds available and it is sturdy and flat.

      If you are just starting it out and don't want many at once. They can sometimes be found at Dollartree or local party stores.

    I would make gift baskets for people to give as gifts but I never thought about selling.
    When you make the baskets do clients tell you what items they want in a basket and you just buy the items?
    Thank you for sharing!

    • @lifeasiknowit89
      @lifeasiknowit89  9 місяців тому +1

      I recommend selling them since you already know the craft.
      Clients will give a general idea on what they are looking for and then we will tailor it to that theme. Of course some people are very specific as well and you will have to decide how lenient and open you will be to catering to that.
      Oftentimes people will just give their price range and we will do the popular charcuterie theme.

    I always find it that Christmas is really bad dor us we do HORRIBLE on this day. So i spent $2100 in product and only made $1400 back😢 and fathers day the same.

    • @lifeasiknowit89

      interesting... I haven't heard of this experience yet as usually people really have an amazing December. Perhaps the competition is really fierce in your area where it makes hard to sell baskets at a good rate?
      Fathers day is definitely not the best month but it should not be a loss. Well you know more about your business than I do, so maybe avoid those holidays. Either way I wish you the best of luck.

    So other than the bow, you don’t add lovely filler and things to make the basket attractive. Would’ve looked so much more festive with beautiful gold or tan beige grass tucked on the sides.

    • @lifeasiknowit89
      @lifeasiknowit89  11 місяців тому

      Thanks for watching! We do usually use fillers depending on what season it is. We use the colourful grass for Easter. For Christmas we usually put in small foiled covered chocolates, and even an ornament with the bow to dress it up for Christmas, as well as tinsel. These baskets were used as examples and were not dressed up to the full extent for Christmas as I tried to make them universal since I sell baskets prior to Christmas. We have done very well with our baskets over the years and continue to grow our orders and sales each and every year.

    Looks very neatly packaged, i am just wondering if the heat of airdryer melts the chocolate items? and heat mixed with plastic releases toxins into food products, is there a different way to get the plastic that neat without blowing heat onto plastic and food?

    • @lifeasiknowit89
      @lifeasiknowit89  11 місяців тому +1

      You bring up a good point.
      We use a very low heat to shrink the bags. Which barely would reach the prepackaged products. Many products in our baskets are jarred or in cardboard.
      I also believe they are food safe and FDA approved.
      I see where you are coming from and there may be other ways to obtain this look without heat but I have yet to research that.

    I have a grocery store too and am looking to start making baskets. What wholesale company do you recommend?

    • @lifeasiknowit89
      @lifeasiknowit89  Рік тому

      Yes baskets are the perfect addition to your store! Well wholesale companies will vary from country to country and state to state and i'm not sure if you are just looking for the basket bottoms or the products to put in the basket. If it is just the basket material(bows, bottoms, cellophane) and you are just starting I would suggest just buying a few from your local dollar stores and seeing if there is a market for baskets at your store. After that look into wholesalers and maybe you can get some volume discounts!

  • @vthom5379
    @vthom5379 Рік тому +1

    Felicia does one need a special license to resell the items we put in our baskets legally? I dont want to upset the actual companies that create the items. How do we get around this?

    • @lifeasiknowit89
      @lifeasiknowit89  Рік тому +1

      No special license required. In my province as long as you have a business license and proper food handling license you do not require any special license. The companies i'm sure are more than happy to be selling their products in your baskets.

  • @TexasGiftmaster

    Did you include the cost of the basket, bow, and bag into that $30 cost?

    • @lifeasiknowit89
      @lifeasiknowit89  Рік тому

      I don't believe we mentioned a $30 basket... Perhaps it was a 30 dollar profit on the basket ?
      We start all of our baskets at $50.
      But to answer the question yes every item must be accounted for.
