Wicked video as always Kane, love following this adventure! Never seen an antler dripping blood like that, you learn something new everyday. Safe travels team BRB
How good would that shower have felt after a mission like that😂 those takacat boats are wicked, I had a 4.5m that I fished out of, yea you get wet, but bloody hell you felt safe on them! So cool to also shoot something in a new area as well👍
Awesome adventure lad bloody well done to film all that!! I’ve tried many times but failed to capture enough footage of the good stuff. Keep in on horn
That was a big adventure you are lucky you were in a Takacat .We have spent a lot of time in that part of the Lake and have always headed for home at the first sign of wind. I was at Glendhu Bay and was going to say hi but nobody was at home Great effort, Really good video to watch.
Yeah mate it is a game changer I see probably 20-30% more in the bush but don’t always get to shoot them but it gives you a heads up that they are there then you just have to identify it and find it in the scope.
Hi kane, wow, what a mission! Great effort, i bet you enjoyed the hot shower after your cold bath!😅 🥶 that lake, like many, can turn ugly quick, and the time of year your there would be bloody chilly!, happy travels, look forward to your next installment, Greg
Just looked at DOC maps. He seemed a long way past Pigeon Island, which is sort of where Minaret Burn is, also around Rumbling Burn. Have another look at your map. Once you are past Pigeon Island, there are no DOC areas to hunt until you get near the head of the lake. A very long way to go (in an inflatable), and then to come home in a rough sea, I wouldn't like to do it!
@@hamishcraig6999 I don't know the area as well as you do. If he was indeed at the head of the lake hunting the DOC land on the right you'd think you'd just access it via the road right there rather than boat to it. If he left from Wanaka it's approx 37km on the lake. Personally I've done over 12km in a small inflatable more heavily loaded in a bigger wind chop on a more southern lake, and bought out two whole red deer on the return trip, so it's not impossible.... Just odd due to the road access. Maybe Kane went to a different area or had a different starting point. Happy hunting everyone, stay safe on those big lakes.
Awesome. Nice work. 👌
Mate well earned, cool stag and what a great adventure!! Cheers for taking us along. Enjoyed the work put in to the editing too. Cheers Kane!

I tried sharing one of my Glendhu bay fishing videos but I don't think the share worked. I hope you guys aren't getting this rain.

Awesome!
Legend.
Awesomene solo mission 👍 how do you find the thermal in the bush ?
Yeah mate it is a game changer I see probably 20-30% more in the bush but don’t always get to shoot them but it gives you a heads up that they are there then you just have to identify it and find it in the scope.
@@thegrundinis4199 Roger that. I'm shocking for missing stuff in the bush so may give that a whirl.
All the best for your adventures mate
Awesome video! Where’s Toby?
We had to leave him behind as there are too many areas that dogs arnt aloud.
Youve got balls man.
Roughly what distance did you go from the boat?
Distance from the boat was about 5km. Distance in the boat was about 16km.
@thegrundinis4199 cool thanks! That's a decent probe into new country, and a good haul out. Good stuff!
Top effort
Thank you. Well done.
Thanks for watching!
Epic getting that on camera, well done!
Cheers mate
What does bluffed mean?
When you can’t get down ridge or face due to a big cliff it’s called getting bluffed! 👍

Cheers Greg yes the hot shower and fire make a big difference!
Public land? I don't think so! Poaching more like it!
there is always that one guy in the comment section
I just checked the DOC map there are places where the lake edge touches the DOC hunting area. So why do you believe Kane was poaching? 🤔
@@sharpsticksnz4112 And was this one of those? He seemed quite a way from the lake.
