Awesome movie team! As a tramper and newbie deer hunter, this has got me fizzed up to try and get back into Fiordland on a block in future. Thanks for sharing 🙏🏻
Great documentary! Definitely a film I'd encourage anti-hunters to watch to raise awareness of hunters' efforts as conservationists and wildlife enthusiasts.
Pretty excited that I get the opportunity to go in next year! Can’t wait to see all parts of what Fiordland has to offer thank you team for all your hard work
Epic doco team, very well put together. Having recently gotten into hunting a trip to Wapiti country is as the top of the list. Cheers for all the work to keep this resource for future generations 👍
Having never hunted in Fiordland, it doesn't matter if I never do.Just knowing the preservation of the magnificent wapiti is in good hands by these wonderful people brings joy to my heart.
As an Aussie we here stories about the wapiti. Being so close to our cousins from across the ditch. You guys and gals have done an awesome job with this film. How good is the wapiti foundation 👍👍👍👍 I’ve hunted a few animals now in NZ and can’t believe how nice a place you kiwis have. Wapiti will be on my list. Keep up the great work.
This was a really well made documentary I always knew of the Fiordland Wapiti Foundation and the work they did but I learnt alot more about what they do and how they do it and the fact that they are all volunteers is something that is truly beneficial to virtually anyone whether they hunt or not. So I do look forward to the future of the Fiordland Wapiti Herd and hopefully if I have the opportunity to volunteer that I will take it. This was incredible NZHunter crew and I'll be looking forward to your next episode 👍
Native wildlife down in Fiordland is doing better than anywhere else in the country. I was blown away by the abundance while spending a few days at Lake Sutherland. Love the solution focused mindset, keep charging!
Great doco. Hats off to all the volanteers. My only wapiti ballot comprised of 3 days that was cut short by the first covid lockdown. I never applied again but after watching this I think I will.
Interesting, I have listened to the deer wars podcast multiple times now and as I recall the blame for the venison price crash was government based, was 1080 contamination real culprit?
There's certainly been many venison price fluctuations over the years (for various reasons) but the specific early 2000's crash was caused by a poison residue scare from what we understand. Thanks for watching.

Why is it ok to protect species from interbreeding other than humans?
