Shouldn't your first plumb line be a little less than the width of the wallpaper to allow for trimming and in case that the connecting wall isn't plumb there will be some to trim.? You showed marking the plumb line but didn't show using it in the installation of the first piece.

There are different types of wallpaper available on the market. Prepasted, peel and stick and so on... Its always the best to follow manufacturer's instructions. Good luck!

we always used to make up a thin paste and pasted as normal, edges stuck far better and less mess
