Not only has Samsung managed to build a beautiful, premium phone, clean up the software, and improve the cameras, they also managed to make it durable. I think the S6 outdoes Apple in build quality and definitely durability. Can't wait to buy mine.
Don't really know if I care too much about latest and greatest. I'm sure this Android probably runs just the same as its previous without any real change that isn't a gimmick. Likewise with Apple as well. I still like the iPhone 5s but I don't know maybe Android will look better down the road or not.
The only problem with it for me is the small battery. I'm a power user so I need lots of hours of on screen time, and right now the Xperia Z3 is the only smartphone that delivers that. Because of that reason and that reason alone I'm waiting for the Z4 instead of picking up the S6.
that is because how he dropt the Phone i think that he must exactly the same time let go with both hands and keep the Phone straight that isn,t easy also i find it a little bid stupid You don,t have the Phone to let it fall i am not so handy i let my Phone fall especially where i am happy with and when i drop it it isn,t even so bad and stil my Phone is so damaged that there are things with won,t work anymorel like no sound or led if i get a message from wifi of on 4 g i don,t like that if i don,t look out i must pay for intenet on my abonnement and it is the note edge so i try with a new abonnement a samsung galaxy s 6 edge he is smaller so less chance to drop it and a iinsurance with the Phone
I understand the point of drop tests, I do I really do...but why?! The S6 Edge is just too sexy to drop it's just TOO cruel to do a phone as awesome as the Edge like that!
***** , wow, I believe that's the best performing phone drop test I've watched. For Samsung to make a phone with a glass front and back and not break on the first drop is amazing. You actually had to try earnestly to break the glass. Good job Keaton!
Wouldn't surprise me if in fall 2016 Apple says they are bringing back the glass backs. Lol. This is coming from an iPhone 6 Plus user so don't even call me a fan boy lmao I find phone company arguments funny because people think they can actually change someone's mind over the Internet. XD
Good job Samsung. The lighter design and gorilla glass 4 really fared well in these tests. Yet people were saying how it would be extra fragile due to the glass back
Just bc its glass doesnt mean its weak and its gonna break, look at the stores, most of them are glass and they dont change the glass every week do they? Its a matter of how strong the glass is,gorilla glass 4 is strong as fuck as we've seen in this video
Very surprised to see the various drop tests of the S6 edge. It seems to be designed and engineered very well. Not only aesthetically but also for extreme durability!
I am amazed how sturdy the S6 edge is and how well it did with your various drop test. I always use a case with my phone so the S6 curve will be well protected.
I've been thinking the same thing! I've had trouble with my iPhone 5s bending and plan on switching to android when my contract is up. I sure hope it doesn't bent. I sure hope unboxtherapy does a bend test is but The glass on both sides seems like it would help against bending considering there isn't to much metal to be bent in the first place. If it doesn't bend I will definitely be considering it when my contract is up.
Best drop test i've ever seen. Just subscribed and liked the vid :) Cant wait to get my S6 Edge. i hope to get a green one but i got that feeling that in the first month we will get only the black/white/gold colors. Thanks for the vid m8 : )
Oh my... I cringed at 1:53.. This phone looks amazing! Too bad I just got my S5 in September! D: So I gotta either wait for my contract or pay full price.. smhh. Nice video, as always! :D
This is very exciting. I was already anticipating a shattered screen on the first drop & falling to my knees to curse the heavens, but this gives me hope. I ordered the edge & will get a case but the edge cases don't look like they protect much unless you get one of those wallet cases. Can't wait to get my edge!
Why have they not yet made it so phones have a weighted side, that way it will always (or have a higher chance to) flip to that part so it doesn't hit the screen? Idk, just a thought
Great job my man! I appreciate these tests, they are wicked useful, as I am thinking of pre-ordering the edge, and was very curious as to its durability.
i have the regular s6. still have a chance to trade it back for the edge. this pretty much sealed the deal for me. i will be getting my edge this weekend
its easy ...you can buy iPhone 6 if you want a low specs phone that cost a lot and get s6 edge as you main phone then note 4 as a tab ...there is no harm in diversifying.
Wasnt a fan of samsung ever since my S3, but the engineering in this phone is quite good, im guessing the phone is mostly dropping on its edges due to the way it is released as well as the weight of the metal rim over the glass front and back. Gorilla glass indeed held up well, the S6 non-edge would theoretically hold up better than the S6 edge in that case, would it not?
Its not the height that matters as much as its the way it hits. I dropped mine from my lap in a chair and spider webbed the front glass about the same place yours hit on the right side . Then dropped in a toilet with immediate clean and sterile applications prior to setting in front of a modern day space heater, and still very functional....
last time I remember I dropped my phone was on 1998 it was Nokia with the snake game. I'm so happy that I booked for this smartphone, can't wait to get it on 10th of April.
Impressive! Unless the phone is dropped using a guide, it will tumble and hit randomly. Some phones just have the misfortune of landing flat on the glass the first time. I'm still impressed though.
Not only has Samsung managed to build a beautiful, premium phone, clean up the software, and improve the cameras, they also managed to make it durable. I think the S6 outdoes Apple in build quality and definitely durability.
Can't wait to buy mine.
They have gotten rid of the unnecessary software features but it looks kinda bad still. They really need a gpe version of it
Idk, I like it.
Ya! Its the best phone everything is perfect from hardware to software (typing this by iphone6)
Don't really know if I care too much about latest and greatest. I'm sure this Android probably runs just the same as its previous without any real change that isn't a gimmick. Likewise with Apple as well. I still like the iPhone 5s but I don't know maybe Android will look better down the road or not.

I have never been a Samsung fan but God dammit this phone is well built and beautiful.
Looks good but just why couldn't they keep the front face flat :/
Bob Joe they did, on the S6 model... lol
Bob Joe because it's the Edge version, lol.
Me too😱
Bob Joe Get the regular S6, duh...
Children in Africa could have eaten that broken glass.
Not a very funny comment quinn
HAHA
Edgy Labs strikes again!
You made me butthurt
hahahaha
Best Designed Phone Made By Samsung
After The Galaxy S2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
im getting it soon ! :D
Totally agree
The S2 was a handsome phone, I was disappointed when the goofy "Pebble Designed" S3 came out, lol.
ManlyTexan yes. I thought I was the only one who thought the s2 (international) design was the best, until the s6 of course
Someones been watching too much WIRED.
Might be weight distribution. It looks like it was refusing to fall flat
if i remember physics correctly, weight doesn't effect how it fall. Gravity pull all weight at same speed.
Ilham Hamzah Center of mass does though
Xavier Robinson i must be sleeping in class
;)
Ilham Hamzah lol
that is because how he dropt the Phone
i think that he must exactly the same time let go with both hands and keep the Phone straight
that isn,t easy
also i find it a little bid stupid
You don,t have the Phone to let it fall
i am not so handy i let my Phone fall especially where i am happy with
and when i drop it it isn,t even so bad and stil my Phone is so damaged that there are things with won,t work anymorel
like no sound or led if i get a message from wifi of on 4 g
i don,t like that if i don,t look out i must pay for intenet on my abonnement
and it is the note edge
so i try with a new abonnement a samsung galaxy s 6 edge he is smaller so less chance to drop it and a iinsurance with the Phone
I understand the point of drop tests, I do I really do...but why?! The S6 Edge is just too sexy to drop it's just TOO cruel to do a phone as awesome as the Edge like that!
Aaron Urban That's why I got an extra one to giveaway haha, it'll help ease the pain
***** why not the drop test one too? :)
***** bro give me a s6, I would love to do a review. Me love you long time 😆
***** I will take that one you just did a drop drop test on that's how bad I need need a phone right now
***** Alright, that'd definitely ease the pain.
***** , wow, I believe that's the best performing phone drop test I've watched. For Samsung to make a phone with a glass front and back and not break on the first drop is amazing. You actually had to try earnestly to break the glass. Good job Keaton!
Very nice drops. Throw a Dbrand skin and a tempered glass screen protector on there and it should be invincible.
I'm not a Samsung fan but this was impressive.
Just needs a clear bumper case. Screen protectors take away the sharpness of the display.
I use tempered glass protectors James M. It eliminates the screen clarity issue and protects better IMO.
Rob Watkins I agree. With one of my glass screen protectors I noticed a small drop in sharpness, but that was only one brand.
Dude where you bought your custom channel link t shirt from?
0:55 put the "s5 in my pocket"
Nicholas Tao I mumble a lot hhahaha
+TechSmartt do you happen to know the prices it goes for these days
+Keenan Lewis £345 for 64gb, the edge
Wouldn't surprise me if in fall 2016 Apple says they are bringing back the glass backs. Lol. This is coming from an iPhone 6 Plus user so don't even call me a fan boy lmao I find phone company arguments funny because people think they can actually change someone's mind over the Internet. XD
I doubt it. Jony Ive likes saying aluminum too much to stop
Griffin Lee true. i hear the 7 won't have a screen rather more aluminum
i heard Apple will be making the iphone 7 with the screen made out of aluminium and the body made out of curved glass
I hope they don't because even if I had the s6 of be scared about the back
ThePackapunchmaster The Samsung Galaxy S6 / S6 Edge is the best designed and most technologically advanced smartphone of 2015.
Good job Samsung. The lighter design and gorilla glass 4 really fared well in these tests. Yet people were saying how it would be extra fragile due to the glass back
drop test videos are pointless. It's glass.... it will break. It's all matter of luck if it takes 1 drop or 100 drops.
Just bc its glass doesnt mean its weak and its gonna break, look at the stores, most of them are glass and they dont change the glass every week do they? Its a matter of how strong the glass is,gorilla glass 4 is strong as fuck as we've seen in this video
MsMonster128 i love the Store dropping videos....
today we be dropping the apple store here in NY......
Adam Mckeithan HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA BEST COMMENT EVER
Adam Mckeithan easy, just grab the glass and trow them 1 by 1,no need to drop the entire store
Good luck (y)
Adam Mckeithan lmao!!!!
1:43 "say you're Ron Paul, and you drop your phone" lol
Between this & your water test, I'm more impressed with this device every day!!
Very surprised to see the various drop tests of the S6 edge.
It seems to be designed and engineered very well.
Not only aesthetically but also for extreme durability!
***** at 00:55 you said s5 than s6.
Argiris Panousopoulos Damn it, haha thanks lol
Damn it I was about to comment that
Argiris Panousopoulos lol yea no one is prefect
Damn the edge is pretty sturdy
Off topic - Pro Era beats in the background, major props
I am amazed how sturdy the S6 edge is and how well it did with your various drop test. I always use a case with my phone so the S6 curve will be well protected.
Great job Keats! Shout out to Phil for gettin' it up too!
Think about if they coat the metal with glass. The thing would be indestructible when it comes to general drops.
Finally!!! I was waiting for this video since snapchat
This is a incredible result. This is the best crash test that I have seen about the new s6. Good job!
"It's awesome, so let's drop it."
Dat logic though :D
Can you do a drop test on the regular Galaxy s6?
But will it blend? lol good video sad to see it broken.
ThePackapunchmaster lol I know right androids are like brings can take a beating and still work but apple you drop it once and it's unusable
Agent 47 Gaming
it's unusable when you turn it on. it runs ios for god sake.
Ashish Patel you gota point there
Agent 47 my iphone 6 has dropped 3time frm 5ft or more and it still working fine (i love samsung phone more then apple)
Lol I bet people walking by were like what the hell is this kid doing dropping his phone like its nothing
Best drop test i've ever seen.
Just subscribed and liked the vid :)
Cant wait to get my S6 Edge. i hope to get a green one but i got that feeling that in the first month we will get only the black/white/gold colors.
Thanks for the vid m8 : )
Hey Keaton, I think for videos like this a lapel mic is needed. Definitely will take your vids to the next level!
how come when I watch other drop test on this phone the phone cracks earlier
Just curious, do you buy the drop test phones or do they get sent to you?
Do a scratch test, for pockets with keys and such
The first initial small hardly noticeable 1mm crack began when I sit on a hard surface forgetting it was in my back pocket...
shout out to the guy at 1:10
Best drop test video I've seen!
Meanwhile standing outside of his GTA garage
A camera bounced from the S6 to Samsung's strategy to protect the rear window in the fall, in the S7 Drop Test all results show breaking the glass.
@Keaton, When you dropped it on the back panel of the phone did the lens suffer any scuffing?
They didn't believe the last drop test how about this one then?
It still holds out very well now what they gonna say??? Lol
Great video! Killer music! Great job dude!
Oh my... I cringed at 1:53.. This phone looks amazing! Too bad I just got my S5 in September! D: So I gotta either wait for my contract or pay full price.. smhh. Nice video, as always! :D
Wuts happend about 4:59 ~ 5:03? Is this edited period?
5:19, not only the phone cracked, his voice did aswell ^^
NOT as bad as I thought it would be
+sveriges höjdpunkt lol, I was literally about to post the same comment before I saw yours
This is very exciting. I was already anticipating a shattered screen on the first drop & falling to my knees to curse the heavens, but this gives me hope. I ordered the edge & will get a case but the edge cases don't look like they protect much unless you get one of those wallet cases. Can't wait to get my edge!
Wow! the new Galaxy S6 edge is pretty strong for surviving after such drop test
When will you be doing the regular s6 drop test?
It works because the edge has a curved dome like shape to spread the pressure of a drop to the sides. Unlike a flat panel which takes full force
This test showed how durable or well built Samsung S6 edge phone...beatiful phone inside, and out. ♡☆
Now throw a nokia 3310 off the empire state building.
Super video quality... with what camera did you recorded man? :)
Once i see "way better than" i just stop before i enter the arguement after that i cant stop myself
Awesome! Thanks for the drop test video! :)
You should do a section with you actually playing games on these retro consoles that you've been getting :)
So cases are a no go for the s6 line?
Maybe for protecting the aluminum sides ;)
I'd still throw a clear silicone case on mine and let the nice design of the phone still show through.
have you seen spigens armor series ? they are like really thin with huge absorb capabilities
Sertaç İpek what are they called?
NewKingBrandon
well spigen cases are called spigen same way coca-cola is called coca-cola
Where do you get the blue s6 or the s6 edge at? And which carrier?
This is easily the best drop test for the Galaxy S6 I've seen!
Ok, it finally cracked but did it kill the phone? Under the cracked glass does it still work?
Can it be repaired and if so for how much?
Thank you for making these vids!
can you do a slam test on the s6 edge like that internet video?
Why have they not yet made it so phones have a weighted side, that way it will always (or have a higher chance to) flip to that part so it doesn't hit the screen? Idk, just a thought
Well done Samsung, the S6 and S6 Edge looks like beasts, and at the same time they manage to be tanks on terms of durability.. 👌👍
How did the camera lens do ? With it protruding that much I wonder how much damage it could take.
So basically if I buy a metal bumper case the phone will look great and be protected. Sweet
Great job my man! I appreciate these tests, they are wicked useful, as I am thinking of pre-ordering the edge, and was very curious as to its durability.
Dude I've subscribed to your channel!
This was filmed at Ardmore & Wilshire in KTown LA
I so glad you did this drop test. I'm a crazy phone dropper.
Is that Pro Era music in the background?
You should have droped the edge on a corner on tbe side of the phone to see if the flexible display woud break or not.
That drum beat is so Nas' One Love
0:55 "Gonna put the s5 in my pocket"
This is incredible. Who would've thought this phone could take so much beating.
haha he said S5 at 0:54 .... OOOOooops!
how do you get the phones when they havent been released yet?
i have the regular s6. still have a chance to trade it back for the edge. this pretty much sealed the deal for me. i will be getting my edge this weekend
Lol, I'm very impressed after seeing a few UA-cam video, S6 drop test
Is that the black color? Looks very navy
How is the phone? Like is the technology sensitive? Is the tech very good? I was told the tech was sensitive
its easy ...you can buy iPhone 6 if you want a low specs phone that cost a lot and get s6 edge as you main phone then note 4 as a tab ...there is no harm in diversifying.
Or an iPhone 6 Plus if you want a phone that won't slow down after 3 months of use.
lol i wont buy something that can break the screen in the first pocket hight drop ..thats just stupid..
keone sephuthe e lol well unless you land on the screen, like on the GS6, you'll be safe.
hahahah but my final vote goes to the note 4 thou....
keone sephuthe e the doesn't surprise me. I vote iPhone 6 Plus. My iPhone 6 Plus is amazing, and the 6s Plus should be even better.
0:54 He called it an S5. lol just thought I should point that out.
I always wonder, how the case gonna look for the 6edge?
Its not the height that matters as much as its the way it hits. I dropped mine from my lap in a chair and spider webbed the front glass about the same place yours hit on the right side . Then dropped in a toilet with immediate clean and sterile applications prior to setting in front of a modern day space heater, and still very functional....
Been waiting for ages for a drop test of that Note Edge, anyone gotta spare Note Edge & feel like dropping that?! ;)
I'm curious about the price and time of repairs for this bad boy.
I think next should be a blender test. I think that's important😕
agreed
How did you get a hold of one this early?
Can you do drop test for note edge?!
This breaks my heart to see, but the results were surprising.
Looks like Samsung is getting into the armor business, Lol! Damn that thing is tough.
Do they pay you to do drop test or do you get it and do it just to show
Even in 2020 I still want it
last time I remember I dropped my phone was on 1998 it was Nokia with the snake game.
I'm so happy that I booked for this smartphone, can't wait to get it on 10th of April.
When the first drop test started you said s5 lmao 😂 😂
I'm very surprised how strong it is. I figured both the front and back would've cracked on one of the first drops.
Ooooh that hurts just watching you drop that gorgeous phone.
Was i the only one to have a galaxy s6 ad before the video?
Is the regular s6 just as strong?
Could you turn it on and was it still functional, even with the shattered screen?
Damn .. I thought this one was weak ....
Impressive! Unless the phone is dropped using a guide, it will tumble and hit randomly. Some phones just have the misfortune of landing flat on the glass the first time. I'm still impressed though.
