Some of you are wondering why we didn't use new phones when we switched the surface to concrete. The reason is simple: by testing the same phone on both surfaces we're able to better distinguish a phone's relative durability. We actually did test a new Galaxy S6 and iPhone 6 on concrete (instead of using the same phone from the tile test) before making this video and the result was indeed different. The Galaxy S6 didn't give out after the back drop (although it did shatter), and the rest of the results were about the same. But if we had never run the same phone through BOTH surfaces, we would have never known about the Galaxy S6's lack of shock resistance. Just to be sure, we tested another new Galaxy S6 and iPhone 6 on steel (which is an easier surface than both tile and concrete), and found that the Galaxy S6 died after a few drops again (though it didn't crack). All in all, we tested over 20+ smartphones while researching and developing this #PhoneBuffStyle drop test. The method of testing you see in this video proved most accurate and informative and that's why we used it. Hopefully this clears things up. We take our work seriously here at PhoneBuff. We wanted to create a truly better drop test, and we believe we did. Thank you for your support!
I think this method doesn't really replicate a real drop because it looks like the phones are dropping pretty fast which might me stronger then legit drops i may be wrong but it just seemed that way
Rhi yeah people complain about how apple makes products that are "made to break" but at the same time I see them torturing the hell out of it. People like this need to get a nokia.
Traditional drop tests (aka random) don't let you compare how durable one phone is relative to another. It's time someone did something about that! ua-cam.com/video/yOcRPl5ak98/v-deo.html
PhoneBuff but your really didn't as you used the same phone for multiple test cases thus degrading the accuracy of the other tests; but you guys are on the right track.
loja babel yes excactly the s3 smashed much easier than the s4 and s5 because it had no bezel around the screen (i think thats what its called). Now they've decided to remove the bezel again, and the glass back was just a stupid idea in terms of durability. By making the phone slimmer, it will now be thicker as it will need a case to survive even 1 fall.
You have to do more than 1 test because there's going to be millions of phones out there dropping. You did one test out of hundreds or thousands or millions that need to be done in order for this to be credible at the level that you are claiming this is.
+loja Babel, i see what you're saying about the differences in the two phones but that's the point. It the samsung galaxy s6 doesn't have the two screen feature then thats a problem that this test highlighted. It's nit a test flaw. Thats samsung's fault. And by using only one phone this test truly highlights internal durability which clearly showed that the iPhone in this case held better. Again, i definitely see what you're saying but making a test that is specified for a certain phone is flawed because the. It's not realistic. So in other words, this test is not flawed and i really liked it.
This makes cases all the more important for my iPhone 6 Plus. As much as I love the iPhone it's kinda satisfying to see chunks of it fly off in this video, lol. Apple really do need to make that glass tougher. Props to the S6 for sure!
***** it could have been a special case where the screen quit working out of the 20 plus drop test this is the first one that it did it on and considering if the screen was still working it would have gotten a better score then the iPhone it was that close
This is not a fair test. Since the Galaxy s6 sustained more cracks on the tiles it cracked a lot more on the concrete where it may not have cracked usually. The only way to do a fair test is to have a new phone for every single thing, side, back, front, and then each of those for the different surfaces (And I'm not suggesting you do that because I know ruining that many phones is ridiculous) Still a good test, don't get me wrong
Are you crazy?" A new phone for each drop testing surface?" No. In real life you don't get the chance to get a new phone to drop in different places. Most people have the phone till it dies.
for those of you saying that its no different from traditional drop tests, the point of this is to have both phones dropped in the exact same way, because people usually wont be able to drop both phones at the exact same angle and height
PhoneBuff You should have done it in a vacuum. But seriously, no drop test can demonstrate the result of a real world drop a 100%. The aerodynamics of the phone will make them land on different spots, which may be more durable. But nevertheless nice video!
PhoneBuff Why is it a problem with random angles giving you random results? They are both random, so you control for randomness anyway. One the contrary, dropping the phones in this artificial way it far less representative what of happens in reality. I still think random drop tests are better.
Gol. D Rodger i agree, the s6 is certainly more fragile, which is surprising and disappointing. I think i still may buy it though, i'm an android guy :P
***** how did they both fail? glass and concrete aren't a good mix.. it's expected that it would shatter the glass. the real importance is whether the phone still works afterward, which the S6 failed in that regard. the iphone's screen can be replaced relatively cheaply. the S6 would likely need to be replaced entirely.
that's seems like very perfect than other drop test videos..cuz this one is very stylish..and very fair for both phones..same height..same surface..same drop for both...i'm really appreciate that !!!!
If you ask me, random drop tests are a more accurate representation of what would happen in real life to most people. When people drop their phones, they don't usually (if ever) drop them from very high up and don't usually drop them perfectly on the side or on the face. Most people just trip and drop their phone, or its slippery and they accidentally let go. This would result in the phone falling from a random height and landing on a random side of the phone. This test may more "consistent", but it doesn't mimic real world situations.
I've been looking at some drop tests on the Galaxy S6 and I am surprised to see that in most if not all the screen completely dies. I find this to be extremely bad, as a functioning phone is in many cases a key to survival in emergencies. For example if you have your phone connected to a charger in your car, driving alone on a road with little to no other traffic and you fall asleep or somehow lose control and go of the road and do some rollovers. (Actually a pretty common scenario where I live at least) The phone gets thrown around, gets a few hits and then the screen completely stops working. You can't call for help. With the iPhone or any other older generation Galaxy S phones you'll have broken glass but a functioning phone. The S6 becomes useless. I kinda regret buying one now...
***** techrax is a complete moron. this cannot be overstated enough. the fact that he gets millions of views is pretty maddening.. but i guess thats youtube for ya
If u wanna be "the best" drop test in the youtube. Use a new phone for each drop test. Because every previous drop makes the phone weaker for every next drop
***** Because I agree with him (George) and this review. You have your friend with an iphone and you with the galaxy but since both of you bought them you aren't getting a new one every time it falls.
Great job! thank you for doing it right! even the best other drop tests usually drop the devices on different materials, (mostly some being on concrete, and some on gravel-covered asphalt, which is much more deadly) not to mention the human error. this is the first reliable drop test I have seen. same goes for your speed tests. You really are the best!
No matter how big of a fanboy of either phone you are, You have to admit that this is probably the FAIREST test out there! Even though the phones never landed perfectly on their side or face, both were CONSISTENT with how they landed, thus you can't really say any bias one way or another.
Jefafa Von Richthofen Still it's very random. It's glass we are talking about. You can expect similar results for aluminium, but no the glass. If they would do another same test - S6 vs IP6. I am 100% results would be significantly different for either phone. It's fairest test to compare two phones but really bad test to show how these phones would handle drops in real life because there is no way you could ever drop your phone so perfectly. Personally I like to watch 5+ random drop tests and see the results to get an idea how durable phone is.
Yes but perfect angles are worse case scenario. So that's what I want to see, if it survives a drop like that it will most likely survive slightly angled ones. Which the iPhone kind of survived
Okay but think about it if you just randomly dropped it on the floor both phones or drop in different ways depending on the scenario so it's better off to do a test like this because it's more accurate and you would know how it would suffice to certain drops
What you sugest? Is a s6 vs 6 not real world scenario. Both terminals had been tested in same condition. The test is perfect. Ur glasses makes you look S. But your coment made me have no doubt
That would explain the buttons still lighting up? No, the battery is glued to the back of the screen im pretty sure nothing is popping out in such a cramped up space.
stilkus The same thing happened on my s5 actually. At first the screen sometimes turned yellow when it got a small hit or something, and eventually the screen turned black completely but the glowing keys at the bottom (back and active apps) still worked and vibrated. (same as in the video).
Amazing to look back and remember how the drop tests all started, with fair and consistent testing… from the brick walls to now your epic studio, seeing how smartphones have changed over the years and how much more durable they are theses days And how far you and PhoneBuff have come, with the hugely entertaining drop tests as well as the highly enjoyable battery tests and speed test (Apple vs Android and how it feels like a horse race at the grand national and with me being an iPhone user and huge Apple fan.. hoping iPhone gets the victory over android, especially Samsung on all the tests you do, I love every moment!😂 and often watch more than once!) and other comparisons like battery life on an iPhone with the always-on-display on compared to having it off.. and not forgetting the unboxing and detailed product reviews like the fancy new (ish) desk you have and all the cool led lighting. Wonder if 8 years ago you could have imagined things to be any where near to how they are today and how popular and successful PhoneBuff is. Imo your similar to MrWhosTheBoss in that you both produce and post top quality, highly enjoyable, interesting and entertaining videos that look professionally made, and me knowing that regardless what the title or thumbnail is - you just know your gonna love watching every second of the video… and like him your more than worthy of having the bell on for notifications lol.. and for me i don’t often have the bell on for notifications 😂😂 unless like with PhoneBuff I want to know the moment you upload a new video so I can watch it straight away! 😉☺️ great job 👏🏼🤩 keep it up! P.s have said/submitted it before on your website as a suggestion but I would still love to see you make water depth/duration tests! How deep smartphones/smart watches etc can go before dying and another test seeing how long they can last submerged at the water resistance (ip) rating before dying, so can they last longer than for example at 6ft for 30 minutes and if so how much longer can they last while submerged before shutting down/dying 🤞🤞
@@PhoneBuff and thank you for the many years of enjoyment each videos brings me… also gotta say I’m so looking forward to all the new videos that will be uploaded once the iPhone 15 is available (hoping you do multiple videos with each version, 15, pro, pro max (depending on what’s announced)) Last year after the iPhone 14 was available (was very lucky to get one, especially getting it on lunch day) I used to check your page multiple times a day (and Snapchat) incase notifications wasn’t working for some reason.. just to watch all the videos about it, because watching your videos was just as exciting as having the iPhone 14 pro max in my hands Fingers crossed it takes back the victory from the nothing 2 phone 😅🤞
I like the way you show the durability of those phones; like you says, is more common we have this kind of accidents in real life. I want to watch in a future episode, the speed test between S6 and IPhone 6; and if it possible, the speed test between the S6 and the Note 4. Pretty good job!!!
Legit, Samsung is not as durable but still worth your money and still the number one performing phone, can't wait to see what apple is going to steel from them next :)
+YOLOO PLAYZZZ Okay speakers yes but why did iphone steal the button on the side? AndGoogle pay started it all you idiot which is what androids are run by Google so shut up
"Studies/Test" in a controlled environment such as this does not dismiss or Validate what you just showed everyone else's drop test. Great Test for a Controlled Environment.
I'm also very curious as to why you chose to compare it to an Iphone 6? an almost entirely aluminium phone? Of course the iPhone 6 would perform better overall.
Malik Utara It was the the test s5 vs iphone 6 and the s5 won becouse there were less damage at the screen and plastic cover which is more duable than aluminium.
Malik Utara I've been an Android and iOS user for 8 years. I've NEVER gotten a virus, NEVER had to worry about "cache" (what could you possibly need to worry about the cache for? apparently you don't know how memory registers work), and iOS is far more limiting than Android if you want to be creative. With iOS you get a grid of icons and nothing else. With Android you can actually be creative and turn your home screen into art if you desire. In many cases Android is simpler than iOS, for example with file sharing. On iOS it's a convoluted mess dumbed way the hell down for the very stupidest users. Simplicity is not always a virtue - in the case of iOS it's sometimes a curse. Overall, being a long time user of both platforms, Android is the one I would say is the most modern, diverse, and easy to use mobile platform.
Jacob Williams well it really just show Androids inconsistency with its system them. I've heard and met everyone who got viruses on their android phone and performs shit because of how open source it is. While iPhones last and never heard of anyone complain, only on how restirctive it is.
Well done! The only change I would make to this test is to only drop the phones once from each side, onto one surface, either tile or concrete, and my preference would be concrete. The accumulated damage from 6 drops per phone has limited value IMO. That said, others might disagree and find that valuable, but I wanted to put my two cents in, at least. :)
Masterincommander Yes and no, becuse now they are getting the same result every time... And if they drop it by hand, they dont drop it like you would drop it... Haha fail
little unfair. the s6 clearly wasn't dropped as straight as the iPhone as it landed on a corner of the phone every single time and as a result bounced around a lot more.
I still give props to the Note 5. You gotta remember it's the Galaxy series' first year trying out the Uni-Body since nobody wanted the plastic casing anymore. They still gotta master combining the battery placement with the other electronics in the phone I guess
Gol. D Rodger the only reason iphone didn't die that fast is the aluminium backing. Everyone gets cases now anyways. In terms of performance S6 > iphone 6 atm.
IMHO. Cases destroy the beautiful design of the phone... Yes, it protects it. But phones look better without cases.... It's just really fragile without cases. The S6 looks like an iPhone but it really looks good and feels expensive phone... The case will just ruin the design. I think we should just be extra careful with these expensive smartphones... :)
+Luis O Obviously the creator of this vid doesn't know a damn how to open up an android device by just clicking the button in 2 sec. go back playing your trash iphone apple fanboy :)
+Dreamhackian _ Never said it wasn't faster, but if you actually watched the video you'll find out that the Samsung stopped working. It stopped working. It. Stopped. Working.
Moral for smart phones - buy insurance. I appreciate these tests but don't have a high expectation for the phone, without some type of casing protection, to do that great. Gorilla glass didn't impress me when I get my S6 Edge and basically if I drop it and it gets damaged that's why I pay for cell phone insurance. Many think it's a waste until they damage their phones. Just my opinion. Thanks for this ACCURATE drop test as well. Got tired of people dropping it from their pocket or something and thinking it's accurate. I got my S6 after a long time of being with Android. From the G1 to the S3 to S5 to now the S6 Edge. I love the technology. Anything else, like high durability, is simply a bonus.
Not surprising that the iPhone held up better overall. The glass is much cheaper to replace than completely replacing the phone and/or screen and likely other components in the S6's case.
Excellent, this is really great way to do it. When is the speed test for the s6 coming out? Nexus 6, note 4, and iPhone 6 should be worthy competitors.
***** Um... No. Technically it does but no is going to use it. Are you really going to use a shard ridden phone with the risk of bloody hands just to prove a point? Um...no.
thinks can happend, but if you pay a lot for a phone, simple fall down should not break whole screen ... mayby tearing in frond but not internal that is suck, thats overpay
Okay, this video was made in 2015 , Samsung have inproved since then with the s7 edge, yeah it may shatter easily because its made of glass what do you expect? Apple on the other hand just have the same desgin but make it bigger, whats the actual fun in that? There no actual fun. On the other hand, samsung try there best to improve there desgins throughout the years, apple may try hard but there desgins will never beat samsung. For all you samsung haters, you know nothing apart from you THINK samsung phones are 'shit'. An iphone will never come upto the height of the Samsung galaxy s6, i'm not on the samsung galaxy's side because i have a samsung phone, it's because they are better. I have had an iphone and in my opinion are very shit. People these days will only get an iphone because of the app funimate or live.ly , which is what i was told. Iphones 0 samsung 10. 😁 I have been with samsung since it's first ever phone an they are a good brand, May not be to some people because of how it "breaks" well get a case then or look after it.
Let's be clear about why I threw it like a baseball into a wall. Lollipop is shit. If I wanted my phone to have tropical skittles colors.... Fuck that.
I love the S6 design... It feels like a premium phone, finally! But it is a bit weak when it comes to drops. Phone covers aren't that expensive... No one will be dumb enough to through their phones on the ground 5-6 times at different angles... But then again, if you do then you can always go to a repair shop and get it fixed. IPhone 6 was better at the test... It still worked after the drops... Again, you can always go to a repair shop to get the screen fixed... Even if it costs $200 :o
+Emir Hajric According to whom? You? I've never heard of you. You are no better than I to make a claim solely on opinion. iPhones and Samsungs both suck. Bam. I made a opinionated statement with nothing to back my statement. Same playing field as you, man.
Nice! You could also do a scratch test, with sandpaper to see how well it resists to scratches before doing these tests. Keep up the good work, you rock!
I'm switching to S6 from my HTC M7. I always loved HTC for being the company that made aluminium popular material in mobile phones. My M7 is like a tank. Dropped it many times, it slid face first few metres on dirty floor. Nothing but a very small scratches and a little bend.
my car ran over my s6.the back glass shatteted and metal frame got bent but screen was fully functional. now I've replaced back glass and metal frame and now its perfect
I don't know why we are all fighting. Although I like Samsung more Apple may have the upper hand. But if you think of it, these flagship phones are designed to pack a punch in such sleek design. In no way did these companies intent these flagships to be super durable. The Galaxy and iPhone aren't one of those rugged survival gps devices. That is why cases are even in existence. To protect it the phone. But either way i'm pretty sure it's 99.9999% impossible for a human to drop a phone that accurately on its back or face. I honestly think Samsung's current copy and paste scenario from the iPhone kinda makes sense to me. If any iPhone user decides to ditch apple and go for their flagship phone the transition would be virtually seamless. Meaning, New Buyers who came from Apple will not have a problem transitioning due to the similarities between both phones.
Pretty nice test I'd have to say, but If you would like to be more scientific I would recommend doing multiple trials and I would recommend counterbalancing the test so that order effects are controlled. What I mean by that is you could have used a new phone for each different drop so that the last drop couldn't have had any effect on the next drop. For example when you drop the S6 on it's back, for the next test which was the side test I would have switched out the phone for a new S6 just to make sure that the back test wouldn't have had any effect on the side test or the front test. Then I would have again switched it with a new S6 for the front test so again the other two tests don't effect this third test. But then again that would cost a ton of money for all of those phone drop tests. :-) Next test you should do is the S6 Edge to see if that phone is really as durable as some others have claimed it has been. :-)
First off great video I liked how precise you were. I understand that you were testing for relative durability. However, this begs the question,"Did using the same phones for each test spoil the finding for the following drop tests?" I know that it would have been expensive to get a new phone for each test, but it should be considered.
This just shows us how it is when u drop it perfectly due to "human error" is what we wanna know cause we aren't gonna drop it perfectly like this machine does
Some of you are wondering why we didn't use new phones when we switched the surface to concrete. The reason is simple: by testing the same phone on both surfaces we're able to better distinguish a phone's relative durability.
We actually did test a new Galaxy S6 and iPhone 6 on concrete (instead of using the same phone from the tile test) before making this video and the result was indeed different. Can you include corner drop tests in future drops?
+PhoneBuff 1
+TechRax 0
Yeah .. Thats what i mean too .. His drop tests are meaningless...
Half right.
George Stathias bruh... u know how expensive that would be?
AJ Flores How is that half right? George is 100% correct. The durability of glass is at its peak when it's intact.
No need for that.
*****
Because I agree with him (George) and this review.
You really are the best!
im watch this on my galaxy s6 hahahaha
GAMMING CHANNEL I’m watching this on my iPhone 6 lol
Same
I'm watching this on my S6 edge+
That Samsung galaxy s6 he had is a dud, bc I don't know how much times I have dropped my s6 without a case and it doesn't even have scratch on it
@@niallreel7050 my S6 edge+ has been run over by a car, the tire went right over my phone, I'm still using it
No matter how big of a fanboy of either phone you are,
You have to admit that this is probably the FAIREST test out there!
Personally I like to watch 5+ random drop tests and see the results to get an idea how durable phone is.
iPhone = Stronger inside, worse outside
Samsung = Stronger outside, worse inside
***** Right ;)
***** I am talking about how strong it is -_-
Revel not true
Revel get out of here teddy
So real
Yes, urs, yes!!! I am so glad you're back with a new one. And. Just. Phonebuff #Phonebuff is back!!!
The fact that you are dropping them at perfect angles isn't necessarily good because it isn't representative of a real world drop.
Yes but perfect angles are worse case scenario. So that's what I want to see, if it survives a drop like that it will most likely survive slightly angled ones. Which the iPhone kind of survived
All I need is to have my phone surviving the drops, replacing the screen isn't as bad as replacing the phone.
Okay but think about it if you just randomly dropped it on the floor both phones or drop in different ways depending on the scenario so it's better off to do a test like this because it's more accurate and you would know how it would suffice to certain drops
Gol. D Rodger As much as I like your name (fellow fan here), I'm not sure that perfect angles are worse case scenario
What you sugest? Is a s6 vs 6 not real world scenario. Both terminals had been tested in same condition. The test is perfect. Ur glasses makes you look S. But your coment made me have no doubt
Samsung couldn't even Copy Apple Right
Ahmed Saif no they did it better. even apple fanboys preferred the s6 designe.
I really noticed that whenever the s6 is dropped it shuts down. I am 100% sure it is a battery connector popping out.
the buttons still light up tho
That would explain the buttons still lighting up? No, the battery is glued to the back of the screen im pretty sure nothing is popping out in such a cramped up space.
i think that the display completely broke and thats why it went black.
stilkus The same thing happened on my s5 actually. At first the screen sometimes turned yellow when it got a small hit or something, and eventually the screen turned black completely but the glowing keys at the bottom (back and active apps) still worked and vibrated. (same as in the video).
Major Ink Spill.
I dropped my phone in an elevator shaft, i'm watching this videos to see if it will survive..
Edy 420 yeah just so you know, I did recover it, it didn't survived..
And all you must do is get case. So simple yet so many people can't understand that simple concept
Amazing to look back and remember how the drop tests all started, with fair and consistent testing… from the brick walls to now your epic studio, seeing how smartphones have changed over the years and how much more durable they are theses days
And how far you and PhoneBuff have come, with the hugely entertaining drop tests as well as the highly enjoyable battery tests and speed test (Apple vs Android and how it feels like a horse race at the grand national and with me being an iPhone user and huge Apple fan.. hoping iPhone gets the victory over android, especially Samsung on all the tests you do, I love every moment!😂 and often watch more than once!) and other comparisons like battery life on an iPhone with the always-on-display on compared to having it off.. and not forgetting the unboxing and detailed product reviews like the fancy new (ish) desk you have and all the cool led lighting.
Very much appreciated. Thank you for the kind words!
@@PhoneBuff and thank you for the many years of enjoyment each videos brings me… also gotta say I’m so looking forward to all the new videos that will be uploaded once the iPhone 15 is available (hoping you do multiple videos with each version, 15, pro, pro max (depending on what’s announced))
Last year after the iPhone 14 was available (was very lucky to get one, especially getting it on lunch day) I used to check your page multiple times a day (and Snapchat) incase notifications wasn’t working for some reason.. just to watch all the videos about it, because watching your videos was just as exciting as having the iPhone 14 pro max in my hands
Fingers crossed it takes back the victory from the nothing 2 phone 😅🤞
Nice drop! Phonebuff d best.
Steal*
I feel like this comment is a joke
John Smith what part of it is a joke
JoshTheGreat33 please point out what part of it was a joke
+YOLOO PLAYZZZ Okay speakers yes but why did iphone steal the button on the side? AndGoogle pay started it all you idiot which is what androids are run by Google so shut up
"Studies/Test" in a controlled environment such as this does not dismiss or Validate what you just showed everyone else's drop test.
Great Test for a Controlled Environment.
>Complains about drop tests being inaccurate
>Uses same phones for multiple tests
whut.
That awkward moment when the guy in the ad is the guy in the video.
I'm also very curious as to why you chose to compare it to an Iphone 6? an almost entirely aluminium phone? Of course the iPhone 6 would perform better overall.
Paul Smith all the others are aluminium
Paul Smith perfect ios, simple, make you more creative, no need to think about cache, virus, or anything else.
So basically, synthetic drop tests rather than real life scenarios? don't see how this is better than other drop tests.
stevob211 These drops are exactly the same drop every time... And real life drops it diffrent every time...
Masterincommander Yes and no, becuse now they are getting the same result every time... And if they drop it by hand, they dont drop it like you would drop it... Haha fail
niklas981000 Please search the word synthetic. that's exactly what I am saying, real life drops are different each time rather than this crap.
Why is real life drops better?
Masterincommander But this is a comparation, if they have dropped it irl its not a comparation
I love your accuracy with your tests overal. Speed test and now drop test, you are the best Dave, keep being awesome reviewer ;)
Finally. Someone finally got a controlled method to test drop phones. Good video and drop test
little unfair. the s6 clearly wasn't dropped as straight as the iPhone as it landed on a corner of the phone every single time and as a result bounced around a lot more.
Spooks11 1
David rahimi
dude you are the best at testing phones .All aspects you go through quite deeply
iphone needs a better screen..
+am ber The 6s got an upgrade if I'm not mistaken
+Ade luckily you are not mistaken x
+Ade it's still shit
SRGZ or you buy an case?
Doesn't matter how messed up the iPhone 6 screen is it still never goes out
I love how he acts like he didn't do the "conventional" way before he got the machine in the first place
Best drop test on internet
Thanks!
ofwgkta MOK very true
I still give props to the Note 5. You gotta remember it's the Galaxy series' first year trying out the Uni-Body since nobody wanted the plastic casing anymore. They still gotta master combining the battery placement with the other electronics in the phone I guess
That S6 just bad luck, I am still buying s6 over ip6. period. unless ip6 is less than $300 that's all it worth for a dump phone
Enjoy using a phone that dies after one drop
Gol. D Rodger That's where cases come in.
Gol. D Rodger the only reason iphone didn't die that fast is the aluminium backing. Everyone gets cases now anyways. In terms of performance S6 > iphone 6 atm.
Gol. D Rodger Try dropping the S6 edge and you will dump your fragile ip6
The best and most accurate drop test I have ever seen.
Keep it up David PhoneBuff :)
the concrete tests are not valid for the s6 due to the significant damage done on test one.
T R U E
Gorilla Glass 4 be like:
Ouch, that hurt. *not giving a fuck face*
iPhone 6 glass be like:
WAHHHHHHHHH!!!!! THAT REALLY FUCKING HURT *rage face*
Samsung hardware be like: ....
Apple Hardware be like: Hey! Want to make a call! At least I still can!
It. Stopped. Working.
Get an OtterBox problem solved
Just got an otterbox commuter for my daughter's new iphone 6. We remain an all otterbox family.
Fuck Otterboxes, they take away the reason I buy 700 dollar phones.
Galaxy 6 is the best
Not surprising that the iPhone held up better overall. The glass is much cheaper to replace than completely replacing the phone and/or screen and likely other components in the S6's case.
if you want to save youre phone buy a case
Yeah the claims end when it’s dropped a bunch of times or dropped from very high
I will keep in touch with this kind of drop test. Nice one, PhoneBuff!
Wow good job.. Fair test drop... iPhone win..
best and most relevant to real life drops. Solid work
I'd give the Samsung a 0.0 for not working and the iPhone 0.1 for still being able to work so....
MOM!!! Where is my Nokia flip phone???
Excellent, this is really great way to do it. When is the speed test for the s6 coming out? Nexus 6, note 4, and iPhone 6 should be worthy competitors.
s6 sucks hard.
We want the phonebuff style speed tests too
Nevermind galaxy phones are still better. 😝
***** Um... No. Technically it does but no is going to use it. Are you really going to use a shard ridden phone with the risk of bloody hands just to prove a point? Um...no.
Luke Nance Then the screen can be replaced.
KDJProductions Androids are coming out with phones that can have the screens come on and off with magnets. Can be replaced for just 20 bucks.
+Luke Nance but it doesn't work anymore so screen replacement is pointless
Supcharged That's the thing the phone will still work. That's why its cool.
3:54 when he picked that up and I saw it I was like "DAAAWWWMM!!"
some family dropped by accident her S6 from table, result Blackscreen.... repair 175 euro :/
drop test suck
seems you answerd that issue, samsung suck :p
ive dropped mine from 9ft onto floorboard and its perfectly fine
stil suck if screen come to black seems such droptest is very variable
so just because some people are irresponsible with their phone and it shatters because of it, that means Samsung sucks?
thinks can happend, but if you pay a lot for a phone, simple fall down should not break whole screen ... mayby tearing in frond but not internal that is suck, thats overpay
I have owned iPhones for a total of 5 years and I've never broken one. I tried two different Samsung phones within one year and cracked two screens.
Sadly since the first ever galaxy phone they made they have poor ram managements.
i have a LG escape 3 and i can still use both of those apps 😂😂
A proper drop test showdown, FINALLY!!!
Wow I guess I'll keep my s5 active the s6 isn't the same durability it's more looking like a downgrade
Devon Buttenshaw wait s6 active
You Can't compare with different grade phones. It is like you are comparing military grade product with normal products.
you always drop your phone? uhm...
***** I threw my s5 through drywall and it didn't even scratch it. I agree with the OP.
Samsungs are so fucking bad hahahaha
Your right
It an opinion
It an opinion
+Kevin Shields (AddictiveGamer19) I guess you are a Apple fanboy
Finally a truly informative drop test.
iphone 6s is a cheap looking piece of shit.
I agree with you pal
+Andy Cooke w/e we charge up in an hour and half.
iphone 6 and 6s are the best looking phones on the market
+Emir Hajric According to whom? You? I've never heard of you. You are no better than I to make a claim solely on opinion.
iPhones and Samsungs both suck. Bam. I made a opinionated statement with nothing to back my statement. Same playing field as you, man.
+TopkekBootyDubs apple product sucks...
ope, android authority's drop test, more like josh's drop tests since he basically make them his own, has competition now.
I once read that this phones they throw are like the ones that have hardware issues because i cant imagine they actually drop the full price phones.
Now, drop test with the Nokia 3310 in 3, 2, 1.. *Earth's explosion*
Very quickly made up my mind to get a case for my GS6...
my car ran over my s6.the back glass shatteted and metal frame got bent but screen was fully functional. now I've replaced back glass and metal frame and now its perfect
You need to get that galaxy into a cheerleading team 😂
PhoneBuff drop test game revolutionary
Was anyone else focusing on how perfectly he could touch his fingers together without looking?
Then proceeded to try it?
Just me?
Revolutionizing drop tests!!
Those dislikers be like: KIDS IN AFRICA COULD HAVE EATEN THAT PHONE.
Best drop test ever Bro !!!! Love your videos 😅😅 PhoneBuff
most legit drop test ever PhoneBuff
This just shows us how it is when u drop it perfectly due to "human error" is what we wanna know cause we aren't gonna drop it perfectly like this machine does
Very scientific drop test. Loved it David
Great video! Very precise. Very well done. The only thing, try reducing the brightness when filming screens.
I was cringing during each drop. Thanks. I'm even more paranoid now. Lol great video. New subscriber
yeahhhh, but its me dropping the phone in real life, not a drop test machine.
still dope
