By not doing that (or doing it less often), there would be less delusional fans and crazy people who think that idols only belong to them. That would give those “fans” a reality check.

Don't feed the fans' imagination. And if they're dating, just say, "My heart is taken." or something like that.

sad thing is they cant go out without being cornered or followed from hotels and airports so even if they date in peace it still wouldnt be romantic because they cant go out peacefully nor would they ever be left be from rumors or backlash for doing so.

@@kevinlewis8763 what doesn't make sense to me is that in the United States the top singers and boy bands still date they date openly and they have a lot of one night stands and it doesn't seem to effect how well their albums so bottom line that's what's important getting their albums sold and having endorsements.

@@sharonverdon4072 There is no restriction because after few years of debut company itself remove restrictions. This was BTS choice to hide it. So don't blame everything on company. There was restriction on bts but at the initial year of their debut. From about 7 years BTS are free to do whatever they want. They were even free to date openly. But they choose to play safe. They could have atleast shown their interaction with females like they are doing now

Honestly I’m ok with them dating in secret. Even if fans weren’t viciously delulu and were “ok” with their faves dating, they tend to get waaay too invested in their fave’s relationships and having strong opinions on what’s going on in their personal lives.
Dating in secret like this is a hassle but in my opinion it should remain like this.
I think it's nice for it to be private for them only, but the problem is many of those idols could be fired if they were found out. That's the only part I take issue with. It's probably best to keep the relationships a secret to avoid nosey fans but they shouldn't have to worry about losing their jobs if they do get found out.
I feel sorry for them. Like it was stated in the beginning, do you really think these grown men and women haven't been on dates or have had relationships. You think these grown-ups are walking around virgins just to please their fandoms. That's why there is so much sexual tension within the groups they crave that affection and if they can't find it outside get it where you can.

Its 100% on the fans but created by the management companies. Many times you are buying into the fantasy of a celebrity/idol whatever it may be. The fantasy that you can be with them if they are single sells way better than the one where they are married with kids. This is especially true when your fans are younger which is why as idols age they date more openly.
Im.ecstatic they date. I think its stupid crazy to sell the fantasy to teens they have a shot with them. They will never be in their inner circle. You have to put yourself in the building , in their eyesight in front of them like a stylist , dancer /idol or makeup artist for them to notice. Even if Lee Know & Han from StrayKids are not in love, I really admire in awe, their bold outtake and gestures in that they show their affection for each other unbothered by cameras (unlike how other celebs try to be all cautious.) Gosh. They have my blessings if they decide to be together in future. Nothing breaks my heart more than to see two celebs forced to sacrifice their love because of Company contracts or obsessed fanatics aka fans. Infact my theory is 'fandom' os so overdone...we should try to be a 'Well Wisher' instead and only be concerned with the music/ movie/ art they make and not try to interfere, control or judge any celebrity's personal lives. Even applies to general people. Everyone deserves to be happy.

It's crazy to me that american artists are allowed to date publicly but korean artists aren't. And it's mad that korean artists get more backlash for dating compared to american artists. Like why can't people just let their faves date? Like it just doesn't make any sense to me, it's not like it's hurting anyone if their favourite artist dates, I think people have to understand that we are only their fans, nothing else so we have no control or any say what they do with their lives.

They agree to the restrictions when they sign the contracts but the when the reality of living by those restrictions hits it’s a different and very unnatural way to exist.
Yes, but usually that contracted restriction is for only 2 years or so. For some agencies that restriction has recently been lifted altogether. But many idols still prefer to remain dating privately due to some fans freaking out over it.

Let's be honest, the chances for any fan to meet or date their idols are impossible...There is no way you can be able to date a celebrity bc their world is different. I seen a video of a very popular kpop idol walking with his staff to a car. The Paps were there, following them. There was a girl walking in front of the pop idol wearing a laniard with a backstage pass thing. (She didn't look happy) I sensed she was not part of the staff. She was the Idol's girlfriend. He had a smirk on his face, and even nodded his head yes to the camera (for some reason) 🤔I do believe they are mixed with staff. Very clever way of dating within the industry. The only thing that bothers me is that they have to lie and decieve their fans. It is part of the game I guess. It's so sad in Korea that these beautiful girl and boy pop stars have to hide it. Some even pretend to be gay. ( the boys, to throw the fans off). I do get angry at the amount of deceit they do, though. Especially when the fan asks them if they have a girlfriend, and the pop stars give a blatant no, when they do.

And now that made me analyze a little bit more the marketing side of that industry. Idols bring too much profit to the agencies, so they can’t risk their reputation. In comparison with western celebrities, they have already enough paparazzi’s attention - we all see that craziness about airport arrivals and night events after hotel check-in. At least private life should stay really private :) whilst agencies can’t actually organise it and take all risks because of special fan service and culture inside this industry, they tend to postpone and restrict any relationship with various agreements. But indeed, all idols are very young people, I’m sure that it brings more value to their career path than disadvantages. Mistakes of the youth will never let you get your time back. And prime time of most idols is 15-25 y.o. So it’s ok to help them think more about career. It’s only a pity that they look so out of place when meeting other idols anywhere
The entire S. Korean Idol industry must stop this dangerous facade. Fans will always be drawn to the K-pop artists because of their beautiful talents and their personalities. Creating the possibilities that a young person could result in a lasting relationship with an Idol is extreme cruelty, and when it has happened, the agencies don't want that either. It's time to take a big change in this industry and leave the artists' private lives to be managed by the artists themselves. This change of all out awareness that Idols do have personal lives will hugely decrease stalkers and potential psychos that can actually physically hurt a life and even cause a death. This brings another seriouse matter. These agencies must stop parading the Idols at the airports. It's the agency's opportunity for free publicity but they are not caring about exposing the lives of the artists to being attacked by some kind of deadly poison being released in the air near the artits or acid getting thrown in their faces or even a gun shot. The world keeps getting more dangerous every minute. The bodyguards can't do much to protect the lives of the artists we see it all the time that fans are able to touch the Idols. These agencies must stop this deadly abuse to the artists. The agencies are propagating these potential catastrophies, and there will be families that won't quietly accept this. These kids do have powerful families. To the fandoms, if you really care about your Idols protest to the agencies. Don't just write your comments about the fans crowding them in. That does nothing for the artists, but let's you have hot air, non productive venting.
Why can’t “fans” be happy for their idols when they’re dating? Idols are not puppets nor dolls and people should understand that they don’t get to control what they do and how they live their lives. It’s not fair how male and female idols can’t even interact with each other anymore without getting into a dating scandal. Notice how they also blare out some of their faces. Most of them have girlfriends mixed in with staff. They are young. They should. It is normal. Most likely, the relationships won't last, though. I heard an ex pop star girl say that dating within the industry doesn't work. She said they date each other in secret, but that the guys are too full of themselves. I can see that. So maybe they don't say they are dating because they know it isn't going to last anyway. I guess there is always a reason. Who knows.
