WOWWWWWWWWWWW ..... Best work!!!
excellent procedure👍
honestly, one of the most beutiful knifes ive seem, those damascus knifes are pretty, but nothing beats a detailed rustic knife

Great music
Excelente, una pregunta, templas el acero? no vi en el video, gracias
Excellent video and a Very beautiful knife my friend . Thanks for sharing .
Nailed it!
Elegant knife, great selection of music and well edited. Excellent! The fluid you submerged the blade in is some kind of gunmetal blue solution, isn't it? I heard about it.
Nice job fantastic
very nice , good job👍
Super clean looking knife. I know its 2years old now, but you should do a follow up vid on making a sheath
Very cool and beautiful knife, looking forward to the sheath 😉
Hi
Superbe rendu d'ensemble
Really nice work! I love nordic knives.
I watched the whole thing on 2x speed. The music even worked that fast and it held my attention better.
Vow... just look like modern finnish Kauhava-knive. :) Well done!
Epic
Hey! nice Knife! What is the liquid around 12" to greyish te knife? thx!
Nice!
Very nice! Really cool how you aged the brass at the end?
I used ammonia vapors in a closed vessel
Koss I've tried this trick after reading this comment because I really like the way this aged brass looks.
It didtn't really work out (the brass still remained shiny) but the wooden handle of my knife now smells terribly like ammonia...
What did I do wrong?
Dont worry the smell will disappear. The brass must to get aged after 20min ammonia vapors influence, if this really brass you use. Make sure that brass doesn't covered any oil or other finish you use on handle. And better degrease it.

очень круто !!!
Super knife
wonderful رائع
Very, very cool! How do you get that almost matte dark grey colour on the blade?
Milo Man you can see at around 12:27 that he is putting the blade in a bottle. The bottle most likely has an acid in it that corrodes the outside of the blade, making it oxidize and turn black.
That would be a very dilute solution of ferric chloride; it's often used in damascus projects to allow the grain of the steel to be seen via etching. You can also use a cold blue solution, but here he used a dilute ferric chloride solution I believe. You need to wear gloves to use both and wipe off excess with acetone after bathing in water. Both will work; albeit cold blue gives a more (hence the name) blue-grey finish to the metal.
And how long should I let it in there?
@@jakubcerveny9717 10 to 15 minutes
cool knife :)
Beautiful piece thats for sure the only concern i will have is at the begining you show its 60 hrc but thsn u put grinder to it to cut it out and never heat treat it , i bet ur temper is off now from ur grinding heat transfers! :) love the idea with the pomel.
Just wondering what exactly you used to stain the blade? And is it durable?
We're did you get the jig you use for grinding bevels?
cool
nice job. I think it is better to do most grinding before heat treating. I may have missed it but your grinding looks to be done after HT.
Ive been using a jigsaw with a metal cutting blade is a angle grinder better or faster? any recommendations?
Which wood did you use to make the grip ?
Kind of a scrub question, I know, but what are you putting on the blade when you sand it at the start? I'm guessing its a lubricant, but what kind?
Impressive
Is it possible to buy any of your works ?
Nice job!! Do you sell them as well?
Интересное решение по креплению хвостовика . Четко аккуратно.
I watched the whole thing and skimmed through it again. Did you temper it after? Did the steel come pre-tempered? Just curious
Casey McCracken I presume it was pretempered.
If you start this video again in the first seconds you see a "60 HRC" written on the steeel plate.
Watch closer next time
that is true, but I believe he ruined the temper by cutting it with a cutoff wheel like that
to robert. hello, no he didn't if you look better, you'll see that he spray some water several times with a brush to cool down the blade. also he made many cuts with low depth instead one but deep. He is know what he do
repeated heating and cooling ruins the temper, that's why in machine shops we use continuous coolant, if the metal is too hot to touch you have ruined the temper
I can leave it on my dash in the summer and it be too hot to touch, that's a bunch of malarky.

Klass!💪👍
The liquid you keep putting on the metal before sanding it, is it water or is it something else? Also this is very therapeutic and calming for me, keep up the great work!
What is the solution that you dip the blade into and how to place the copper plate at the knife blade color
what type steel was used to make this knife...?
if not for the knife, i would've already subbed for the music
What site do you get your knife templates from, or do you make them yourself?
heyy. making gerber lmf 2?
Your grinding skills are awesome, you should try blacksmithing some time.
Where do you get your steel?
Hi... where do you get hardened steel blanks?
What gives the steel the grey look?
Depends on what steel and how its finished. A mirror polish looks less grey than say a brushed finish.
What liquid do you put on the knife in the beginning when your cutting it and also, what liquid do you soak it in at the end to give it that amazing look. I'm new to knife making and it seems really interesting
Pretty sure it's ferric chloride or somthing
Ethin Rightnowar thanks
What is it he keeps rubbing on the blade?
Hi ,can you tell me the music list?TY!
What was the liquid that darkened the knife?
It's an etching solution, most likely ferric chloride. You can find it at electronics stores because it's used for etching circuit boards. When making knives, ferric chloride is used to darken the blade (and make it look cooler) but more importantly increase the rust resistance of the blade
yes, it's ferric chloride
how beautiful it is, i am enjoyable to watch ur videos. how can i learn that? it is like an art. could i watch some books? i am from Taiwan ,there is no way to learn it. and my english is very poor.
👍👍👍
can you help me Koss? I'm from vietnam. At 12:27 You put steel knife in a bottle and then the steel knife is black. Can you show me what it is?
👍👍👍👍
