What about heat treating?
Its heat treated
watch this - ua-cam.com/video/L-cjlXayKMs/v-deo.html
Koss that's awesome 👍👍
this still does not show the heat treat etc... Unless I missed something of course
If its heat treated how were you able to drill through it so easily?
It's not, it would of changed a darker color before he etched it. Even if it was wrapped in foil or inert treated, it still would of grayed and required a complete polish to get "shiny" again.
Sometimes an artist just creates something that speaks to your soul. I’ve seen much fancier knives, bigger, smaller, varying materials, etc., but for an EDC I can’t imagine a better knife. Literally. If I had the talent to create a knife, this would be it. I absolutely love all your knifes, but this one is 100/100. Well done sir!
Beautiful knife. Very versatile and usefull. I use very similar handle shape and I like it a lot.
wow, such precision with all the tools! beautiful work.
Nice Knife Making Tutorial for fixed blade. I haven’t made a fixed blade yet, but thinking about it.
i just love the acid wash you put on your knives. it's so subtle and beautifully reserved compared to some harder etches others do.
You have an amazing “eye” and fine motor skills. I’m in awe!
The shape, grind, grip, jimping, and minimalist clean design are everything I have been lioking for in a knife but can never find.
Felicidades.
I was critical of your method at first. Seemed to me a bit awkward, disorganized. But the result? Wow. You've got real talent!
Your knives are so beautiful. Thank you for sharing your work.
Outstandingly great job, complex design made to look simple. Much talent needed to do this!
Beautiful knife 👍 love the shape, did you design it ?
Now that is a great knife making tutorial ! With minimal tools no less ! Well done sir. Especially the jimping. I dont care if its heat treated or not. Thats just part of the process. Subbed.
you have excellent hand skills-very precise work and attention to detail- professional result with only simple tools
Absolutely beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
That is a piece of artwork
beautiful work and i enjoyed your video keep up the great work
I would've like to see the heat treatment and the blade sharpening but else than that your video quality was excellent, great looking knife!
Roomies Garage pretty sure he starts with an already heat treated steel. I would like to also see the sharpening though.
@@aaronpage1822 absolutely
Okay Koss, im a real fan. Im also making knives.. and i reakky have to know. After grinding you polished the knife with some abrasive powder and oil. What material was the sanding block? i also tried it with diamond powder.. but it always hollows out my ,,sanding steel" so i feel like i cant get a crisp, straight surface on my knife.
No heat treat?
wow, really awesome work,,,,, neat n creative. you are the expert... jooos knife👍👌
Beautiful knife.
Looks like Gough knife template;)
Really great looking blade! You need to see about getting a makers mark to put on there.
Como sempre, mais um trabalho inspirador. Parabéns!
You have some amazingly clean knives! Thanks for sharing. Subscribed!

I love it! Quality content as always.
wow love it ,great job
very nice workmanship and knife.
Very nice knife 💪💪
That's a good functional design.
You know you should start a shop at etsy or something......coz the knives you make and create is way more awesome than most of the premium manufacturers of knives.....in my perspective!
Hello! Very good work!
Is that pure Iron III Chlorid or a mix?
And can you please give the Template link :)
it was water solution of ferric chloride
I added the template in description
Did you make your own jig to angle the steel to bring out the angle of the blade? I'm trying to find someone to purchase from and I like your configuration.
@Jorn Navarre thanks for sharing
Beautiful knife. Be careful with that G10 dust though.
Build a buterfly nkife pleaseeee
Amazing!
Now that's a nice knife !
In a grid down scenario, I want you on my team kid.
I like how you cut out the knife. Much safer than the way I do it.
Fantastic
great knife
What is the paste you put on when sanding? Thanks! Oh nice knife by the way!
ooooooou man I love this one
Piękna robota!
Beautiful knife
its very pretty :D
I wish these guys would say exactly what they’re doing. Some of us would like to maybe try to make a knife for ourselves or as a gift maybe and although it all looks very cool, what exactly are you using and doing. Even subtitles would be helpful.
Thank you
Great knife! What did you use to darken the blade? Steel blue? Cheers
no. that's ferric chloride. you can get it on amazon at a pretty decent price.
I am wondering why you didnt use the band saw to cut out the knife shape at the start?
Its probably a wood cutting bandsaw thats not made for metal.
That is a great knife. Thanks!
Great knife...good job!
Beautiful work ...
Beautiful
Cool knife, Koss. You made this one in only 14 minutes. How long would it take to make me one?
beast mode...love it!!
Beautiful knife!!!!
really nice ,,,, a few flap discs for your grinder at the start would save you a lot of time grief and cutting though
Which steel are you using for the knife?
I really like the knife, you did a great job! Just have a question, what kind of diamond paste do you use? Thanks
What is the brown toothepast-ish stuff you put on the blade when sanding?
Thanks for sharing. Awesome job. GF1 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😎
Nice knife
Hey can you do some knife testing like cutting paper or cutting food ? My suggestion 😊
beautiful !
You guys don’t really think someone with these kinds of skills doesn’t know about heat treating do you?.. take it easy with the chime ins
Rockwell? Heat treatment & tempering?
Hermoso cuchillo,nice nice nice¡¡
Awesome
You did not temper?
3:02 what grit Dremel sanding attachment is that to get such fine polish result? Or is it just a worn out one. 6:59 great jimping skills without a checkering file. Gets a lot done with that Dremel. Which one is it? 250W?
Beautiful !!
Everybody makes knives. Has anyone ever considered making scissors? 😂
Great work, what bit are you using to do that jimping and boring out the lanyard hole??
You didn't heat treat it , doesn't it requires heat treatment ?
What the time into the ferric clorithe?
Great job
I WOULD LIKE TO SEE PLANS FOR YOUR BELT SANDER
Did you wipe the excess glue off immediately after you clamped it? I made a similar knife and the tang is a different color.
Love this knife and I am an avid subscriber. Q: How is one able to drill 60 hrc d2? Do you heat the spots you intend to drill in order to soften them?
Just use cobalt drills before heat treatment.
@@markvinny30 the billet is already heat treated to hrc60 previous to any work. I believe that is the reason no heat treat is shown on the video. But I will try a Cobalt drill. I am just wondering if heating the hole locations while moist wrapping the rest of the blade will soften the heat treat.
Very interesting. What is the liquid being used at about 9.55, if you don't mind a stupid question?
It's the acid for etching the blade a darker color. Ferric chloride is the most common one
FeCl3 isn't acid, just to make it straight ;) But you're right, thats the most comon etching compound
Nice work
How did he made the blade black?
Nice video bud!!!!
i like your work, a true shame you dont forge the blades yourself, maybe you should consider that with taste and skill you got 😊
