Peter, if this air intake gasket #17176-15010 is leaking or if there's oil in the chamber, will it cause poor idle. My 93 Corolla has a rough idle. I already replaced the intake manifold gasket and the throttle body gasket.
Hi Peter. I watched many of your video's because they are very interesting and I have this same model US engine. I just opened the same air intake and to my horror found two puddles of oil. My car is from 94 and has drive 260000Km. It seems that oil flows from the cylinder head to the air intake through the two rubber tubes? Can somebody or you explain this or am I wrong? The intake valve has this black I think oil sticky stuff which I think causes the run the engine on higher idle speed. Many thanks in advance!
What needs to be don’t to remove the rest of the intake manifold? I am needing to completely remove because my EGR ports are clogged up with carbon gunk
Thank you for your videos! They have helped me a lot. What is the best way to remove the entire intake manifold? The 5 bolts on the bottom are very difficult to access. Thanks!
hi nice video..we have the same engine... Sir can i ask a question i have a 1993 gli toyota corolla 1.6 liters, my problem is fuel economy eventhough i dont use my AC unit.. i already replace the air filter, spark plugs and pcv valve. and also during idle it is fluctating..
Ok, 7km/per one liter and this mean about 14 liters per 100km ! Do you have automatic ? So, check first: please replace your air filter, check your car brakes stuck , handbrake stuck ?
Are these bots commenting on these videos?? You took an half hour to take off the intake manifold cover, just to remove a tiny bit of residual oil which was affecting nothing. What if the intake manifold is actually clogged with carbon deposits? That is the whole reason to clean the intake manifold. I have a hard time believing that this many people actually followed these instructions, just to pretty much not clean your inner intake manifold by the time the video ended. Also your intake manifold was pretty clean, what does this guy do? i451.photobucket.com/albums/qq233/psmak/cars/Toyota/SDC11892.jpg
This channel is the best corolla channel!
Yes 👍😀
I want to thank you because i like the way you explain plus you are the expert for Toyota.

does the gasket at 8:30 is the same as the one at the 16:45 ? I mean, do we order 2 similar gaskets, or does these have different part numbers?
Same part

Good call!
After removing the intake manifold cover, what can or should I use to wipe out the open valves?
Yes, good idea.

Bolts away. You need right tools
