I love that all the monthly blocks will be inside a star!! It’s perfect for the fabric that I chose! I’m using Urban Chik’s Christmas fabric from my stash and there’s nothing better than a star block for a Christmas quilt! ❤️🎄💚🎄❤️🎄💚

I am soooo happy you reminded me about the Doug Leko ruler! I've had it for a long time and never used it. But currently I'm working on snowballing charm pack squares and hitting that perfect line for sew & flip is tricky. So I pulled out that ruler and it's made the process so much better! Thank you!!😄

I'm looking forward to this year's BOM. I love the vibrancy of the new fabric collection.
Sometimes it’s more economical and less tedious to use 4 at a time method for HSTs or Elinor Burns method for Flying Geese. These BOMs should be used to provide various methods for the same end products so people can decide which works best for them.
Sherri, this is a really pretty block and I think it’s the Strawberry Lemonade fabric that makes it so pretty. I love your fabric and color selection on the blocks.

That is a unique element to your flying geese. 8 and 9 inch blocks are a good size for me. It's not too small and usually big enough pieces to use bigger scale prints. I would love to have a whole quilt with that 8" block with the greens and yellow-orange. I also like how the floral fabric looks in the outer star pieces in the larger block.
I soon love seeing the of together each week and I am looking this year

Your tutorial on the Folded Corner really improved my work. It streamlined it and made it more accurate. I love that you taught us that. Then are so accurate. I love the 16 inch block. That’s fabulous.

Pattern was waiting for me this morning. Love that idea and not that costly. This is a great pattern. Didn’t know if I would make the quilt this year, but yes I will. I made 2 of the 2023 quilts for my 2 daughters and did get them ready for Christmas. They love them. Not sure about fabric yet.

After your video about the simple folded corners ruler, I asked Santa for one for Christmas. I guess I was a good girl because I got one in my stocking! Can’t wait to use it! Thanks for showing all the uses for the ruler. Happy New Year!

I’m so excited about this block. I have your Home for the Holidays book and the flannel I’m going to use for your quilt in there that has some 16” blocks. Now some of those 16”squares will be stars. I’ve been following you for a couple of years now so am starting to regard us as best quilting buddies.

ETA: As soon as I finally decide on my fabrics (soooo much stash I want to play with), I'll go ahead and sew up the star border (which I LOVE--it's going to be so pretty in the end!), as well as the January block. I like to use the No-Waste Flying Geese method, particularly with fabrics I value. I'm not too much into scraps, so it works. ...Gosh, choosing the motif today is going to be quite the fun challenge! But I think I have an idea...

According to the pattern you trim the HST to 1 1/2x 1 1/2 for the 8” block. 2 1/2 x 2 1/2” for the 8” block. In the video you said to trim the HST to 2 1/2” for the 8” and 4 1/2 for the 8”. Which is correct?

Point 11:45 -> When you sew your red/red HST a little bit larger, you can use both of triangles for this block. Why do you accept "orphan blocks" when it's not necessary? 😲

I'm looking for someone in my area who repairs quilts. I treasure the quilts my grandmother made me,some over 40 years. She just passed 2 years ago. Besides,she and all her quilting group of friends live in Ohio. Any ideas how I link up with some southern quilters?
How much fabric is required for the 2024 BOM?
When you’re showing how to use your simple, folded corners ruler, what size are your pieces? I am cutting to the size in the pattern, but yours look bigger than mine… And then you’re talking about Trimming them down to the size in the pattern but what size did you start with?
My pattern has a different measurement to trim to. 8 inch has me trim to 1 1/2 unit; 16 has me trim to 2 1/2 unit. Which is it? You said 2 1/2 and 4 1/2 in video.

I’ve ordered the half-yard bundle of Strawberry Lemonade and the Pinwheel 37675-31 Cloud White and Daisy 37677-11 Cloud for backgrounds. This is my first BOM and I’m struggling with what to order for the sashing and outer border. Any help is so appreciated!

Can’t wait to bet started. I have two questions. The finished quilt is, I believe, 60 1/2 by 76? Is there a way to make it king size - closer to 90 or 96 wide and same length? This just has to adorn my bed. Also, when will I be able to purchased the strawberry lemonade fabrics? LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the collection.
Make extra blocks - duplicates or your own choice, add lots of borders until it’s the size you want it to be. Have fun creating!
