I agree because I actually exchanged some 2000 rupee notes in exchange for couple of 500's right from a BSF checkpost while my trip to Nepal. If it was illegal I'm pretty sure those guys wouldn't have let me go let alone help me exchange it. 🤣🤣🤣

Correction : U can take currency with u anywhere it doesn’t matter … I stay in India whenever I travel abroad I have some Indian money as well so that I can use that once I am back home I can use it for cab and other immediate stuff .. it’s same like keeping some usd or uk pounds ..

Kumbh Mela, the largest religious gathering in the world, is held every 12 years in rotation at the four holy places of Haridwar, Allahabad, Ujjain and Nasik. Hope you see that pollution is caused more by chemical that do not get degraded as river bodies have microorganisms and bacteria that eat the rest of degradable items.

Kumbamela happens every year between the Jan and March. This year it was happened and my parents were also been there in Feb. It is nice to be there... also, visit south India, which is one of the beautiful place in the world...

I always end up bringing some currency not alot but like Rs. 500, 100s 10s and change sitting my purse or pockets left over of my shopping or normally before time to leave for usa, elders and relatives give money as a token of love and an old Indian tradition....

There are many versions of Kumbh mela which takes place in 4 cities across India. The one which the video was talking about takes place nearly every 12 years. I said nearly because the dates are according to Hindu calendar and it is a little less than 12 years to be exact. The one in 2019 was relatively smaller crowd and next such large gathering should be in 2025.

Btw, a lot of people know atleast 3 languages. Their mother tongue, English and another language, predominantly Hindi. I know Telugu, English and Hindi and can understand a little of Kannada. I know lot of my friends who are from Tamil nadu who know Tamil, English and one or more of Telugu, Kannada or Malayalam, based on which state border is closer to where they stay. Same goes with people from other South states i.e., Telangana/Andhrapradesh, Karnataka and Kerala.
Hindi is usually widely spoken across North India and major cities and towns in South India.

Kumbh Mela takes place approx. every 4 years according to the positioning of stars. it happens at each of the major river-banks: allahabad, haidwar, nashik, ujjain. and each time to months in which it takes place is dependent on which of the 4 places is the host. allahabad(jan-feb-mar), haridwar(jan-april), nashik(aug-sept), ujjain(april-may). the cycle of the places repeat after approx.12 years.

Types of Kumbh Melas
Maha Kumbh Mela: It is held only in Prayagraj. It comes in every 144 years or after 12 Purna (Complete) Kumbh Mela.
Purna Kumbh Mela: It comes every 12 years. Mainly held at 4 Kumbh Mela Places in India i.e. Prayagraj, Haridwar, Nashik and Ujjain. It rotates every 12 years at these 4 places.
Ardh Kumbh Mela: It means Half Kumbh Mela which is held every 6 years in India only at two places i.e. Haridwar and Prayagraj.
Kumbh Mela: Held at four different places and is organised by the state governments. Millions of people participate with spiritual enthusiasm.
Magh Kumbh Mela: It is also known as Mini Kumbh Mela which is held annually and only at Prayagraj. It is organised in the month of Magh according to the Hindu Calendar.
The venue for Kumbh Mela is decided according to the position of the Sun, Moon and Jupiter hold in that period in different zodiac signs.
Since then, Kumbh Mela is celebrated with all the ritual beliefs and people from different aspects gather to celebrate the eve.

Mostly we use Hindi and English for communication but sometimes we experience like we are in completely different countrie with different language if we didn't know the local language. Most of the people here knows more than 3different languages. I my self can speak 6 languages and can understand 9 languages. 😄😄

Yes, you can exchange the money either in any money exchange or at Indian airport (but the conversion rates would be higher in airport) so it's best if you exchange the money in your country money exchange(while coming to India) or any Indian money exchange outside airport (while leaving India)

You can do currency exchange near the boarding gate, as many times passengers need currency till the last moment (order food, drinks etc) so prior to boarding there are some areas to change the currency. You can take few currencies as a souvenir.

This gathering is held every year during the Luni-Solar month of Aquarius which begins on February the 14th to March the 14th. Aquarius is depicted as a water bearer and is one of three human forms in the zodiac, Gemini and Virgo being the other two. The rest being animals or objects. Water symbolises knowledge and the water bearer is a representation of intelligence, knowledge, humanitarianism, fraternities and large groups. People congregate and celebrate knowledge, community, commerce while attending religious discourses and indulging in mass feeding. It is believed that one must visit a Kumbh Mela at least once in a lifetime and those who seek a strong spiritual path attend at least one each year. You guys should witness it first hand... it is a experience like no other!
A KumbhMela is a repetitive cycle and is synced with Jupiter’s movement across the zodiac since Jupiter is considered the cosmic Guru.The a PurnaKumbh or FullAquarius is celebrated every 12 years at a designated site.
The ArdhaKumbh or HalfAquarius is celebrated every 6 years and,
a MahaKumbh or GrandAquarius is celebrated every 12 PunaKumbh, that is every 144 years.
These KumbhMelas are held by river banks as people immerse/ dip themselves in the holy rivers, much like in a baptism. It is symbolic of immersing oneself in divine cosmic knowledge.
These Melas are held in this order: Starting at #Haridwar where the Ganga flows fiercely, during Spring or the month of Chaitra when Jupiter is in Aquarius and Sun in Aries. Here, the first bathing date is #Shivaratri, second is the new moon in Chaitra and the third on Mesha Sankranti (Aries Equinox).
Next in #Allahabad where the #Ganga and #Yamuna rivers merge, during Winter or the month of Magha when Jupiter is in Aries, Sun and Moon in Capricorn or Jupiter in Taurus with Sun and Moon in Capricorn. The first bathing is done on Makara Sankranthi (Capricorn Equinox), second is the new moon in Magha and the third on Vasant Panchami.
This is followed by the Mela in #Trimbak or #Nashik where the river #Godavari flows. This takes place in the month of Bhadrapada or the Summer season, during which, Jupiter is in Leo, or Jupiter, Sun and Moon enter Cancer and conjunct. The first bathing is on Chaitra Purnima, the second on Vaishakh new moon and the third on Vaishakh full moon.
The fourth location is #Ujjain where the river #Shipra flows. This occurs during Vaishakha or Spring when Jupiter is in Leo, Sun in Aries or Jupiter, Sun and Moon in Libra. The first bath is on Simha Sankranti (LeoEquinox), the second on new moon of Bhadrapada and the third on Devottam Ekadashi. All sites are calculated in advance based on Jupiter’s relative position with the Sun and Moon.
