This is a real eye opener, I've been watching your videos for about 4 years now and listening to your music since Heretics, and I never really thought about how bad your drinking problems were, I just assumed that everything was alright, and that you had it all figured out.. I'm really glad to see that you're doing better for yourself, I've lost family members because of alcoholism so I'm glad that you're still able to get ahold of your life and that you're not past the point of no return, I love your content and I will continue to watch it for as long as you produce it. I wish you luck in your future health and safety.
@Jazz Feline Oh certainly there are worse cases but it's just jarring to find out that someone hasn't gone a day without drinking in what? 10? 12 years? When you didn't know they had such an addiction. Either way, yes there are worse cases in the world but it's still an addiction and it's still a disease no matter how devastating.

This is a very good and relatable series. I've never struggled with alcohol use but I am addicted to nicotine from vaping and have tried to quit so many times so I know how hard quitting an addiction can be. I'm currently using nicotine pouches to help me quit vaping and it seems to be working. I don't know what my future plans for nicotine use are right now as when I think about or try to quit nicotine completely I always relapse on vaping and I do enjoy nicotine pouches.

@@supereagle4977 Advertisements work two ways. It used to always be a space or amount of time that was offered (billboards, tv networks, and websites all use this method), so it was on the advertiser to find a space to advertise. This basically means they pay an advertising company for a certain number of views, or a premium to display it to a specific type of viewer. Nowadays, it's more popular for a company (like Google) to use people's keywords, searches, website history, or current viewership to display a specific advertiser. Ever since net neutrality failed, all of your personal information is sold to private companies for this purpose. If you take UA-cam for example, they will display advertisements in both categories. Going sober has been a good choice for me. I've been sober since March 2020, and I could not be happier with my decision, no more morning headaches, or being black out drunk. Even though I was not a super alcoholic, it's made me a better person because of my sobriety. I'm proud of you Rusty, and anyone else that's made the change to go sober.
Damn man I can’t remember watching something that gave me so much hope in such a down to earth way, I believe you’re the epitome of a cool person, glad you decided to share your journey with us
I've commented on every previous installment my progress on my own challenge, which was to fix my shredded sleep schedule that I've suffered from for almost a decade now. I managed to last 2 weeks at the start of October but since your last upload I've struggled to keep the streak going. For the past week or so, I've found it increasingly difficult to have my brain shut off at the times I want it to, despite the fact that I managed to keep on a strict 2am - 11am schedule before, now my brain is just adamant it wants to keep me up all throughout the night, and I have no idea why. I'll end up lying in my bed for 1, 2, 3 hours having made no progress towards sleeping and it's endlessly frustrating. My discipline is there, but my body is the only thing holding me back, which is annoying because I'm doing it to keep my body in clean shape. As a result of this, much of my personal time has seemed wasted on videogames or just scrolling through socials. I've struggled to keep up with making videos, the one video I made during my 2 weeks clean I was extremely proud of, and so far I gained around 25 subscribers and netted almost 30 likes on that video alone. It's something I'm really proud of, but in my attempts to make the sequel my lack of sleep has stolen time I'd much rather spend on the actual project. Even if I go to bed late and wake up late, I feel too groggy to do any proper editing and I default to the instant gratification that is clicking buttons and making people go boom. I want to get this second video out, but at this rate it could take another week to make, so unless I can somehow wrangle my sleep back into line, I guess I'll just keep feeling like crap every day till this video eventually churns out of this broken machine. Anyways, I want to keep a consistent sleep schedule for as long as possible, and I'm going to continue trying my best to do so. Those 2 weeks were some of the best I've ever had, and I want to keep that going for as long as possible. So hopefully by December, I plan to already be on a good schedule and go the whole month of December without staying up late, period. Also I knew you were referencing American Psycho the moment you said "Exfoliate" lmao. I'm proud of you Rusty, you managed to do what I couldn't, despite my problem seeming much more benign. Hopefully I can last 3 weeks instead of 2, so today I plan on going to bed extra early to see if that can reset my circadian rhythm.
Good job man, i've always had trouble with my sleep schedule and tbh it's been a serious problem for me at the moment. I respect you for realising that staying up can take some repercussions on your life too, most people don't consider it.
@@peppaminttea1646 I never watch Joe Roegans podcast, but someone recommended that one with the sleep psychologist and it really taught me just how important consistent sleep is.

Sobriety is a good thing, and successfully going 30 days sober after not missing a day without a shot, that's incredible. Humanity does incredible things every day, both big and small, and even just 30 days can make the world a little better of a place.
Lol nooo don't do it Rusty. Don't give in to temptation.
you inspired me to stay sober for all of october and i made it all the way through. thank you for the inspiration. im happy you did as good as you did, stay well, rusty.
"Ouch the sun hurts to look at."
"ouch the sun hurts to look at" lmao love you Rusty
dude... I understand you, Im like "semi" addicted, I try to keep balance, even do workouts in mid week, than having few shorts on weekend, maybe you can balance it out like that
Going sober has been a good choice for me. I've been sober since March 2020, and I could not be happier with my decision, no more morning headaches, or being black out drunk. Even though I was not a super alcoholic, it's made me a better person because of my sobriety.
I'm proud of you Rusty, and anyone else that's made the change to go sober.
Yay my favorite music maker will probably live longer 🙂
I almost cried while watching. Truly inspiring. We're all very proud of you.
Looks at my phone sees that the Devil messaged me, me: "chile anyways so"
Damn man I can’t remember watching something that gave me so much hope in such a down to earth way, I believe you’re the epitome of a cool person, glad you decided to share your journey with us
Proud of you, Rusty.
@@Kaiwala Sounds good, i'll have to check that out. It might help get me back on track, thanks!
