Strong Grandma - Audio Memories with Clara

- Clara refused to let age become an obstacle to her abilities. She used a push mower to mow her lawn until she was 91. If she couldn't get a ride (or wait for a late ride) she would often walk into town to get what she needed done.

Clara is still a rock star...sometimes when I am having a bad day I click on this channel and binge watch for an hour or two...love her stories and her memories it is like I am actually there
I do the same thing. Clara Wass still so endearing . And she still is endearing on film and as long as these videos stay up she will spread her warmth to new viewers everywhere. I am so grateful that her family chose to keep these up! Thank you very much.❤️
Same here one very.
Clara is a blessing
Awwww you sweetheart.
I do the exact same thing
We'll miss her forever.

You moved the refrigerator?
Uh-huh.
How?
I moved it.
Plain and simple. You don't question nonna 😂
Finally somebody understands!!
“You don’t need a timer if you’ve got a brain!” We love Clara!❤️
Lol i love her
My husband thinks I'm nuts too. We just had the oven repairman around and I cleaned inside, outside, and behind. Why? I didn't want him to think we are pigs... And... Because I'm sure they appreciate a clean working environment in a stranger's home. I would...
@James Dooling - I’d love to ask large appliance repairmen how many people obviously clean for them specifically. 😄 I think I remember my dad doing something like that with the stove.
James Dooling 💜💛 They do appreciate it. Repairmen see the filthiest of homes. Horror stories. Thank you for your kindness 💜💛
I remember our toilets water kept running. Called a repair man. Of course I cleaned my bathroom and gave the toilet a cleaning just before his arrival. Do you know he thanked me when he was done . He said you'd be surprised what I have to work with! I never forgot that. Poor guy. Id be mortified to have someone come to do a service repair and the especially that area not be nice and freshly cleaned. Im with Clara. 🥰
OMG, I could never move a refrigerator at any age. Clara had superpowers.
Me either lol
I have :) I do it every 6 months. Our frigde is little.
I never had a loving grandma. My only living grandmother rejected my sisters and I because she hated my mother. Her own sons wife! Watching Clara, makes me realize you can miss what you’ve never had. You were so blessed to have her.
💖❤️💌💖❤️
I never had a chance to spend time with my grandparents you are blessed to had her in your life.
And we are blessed to be able to hear about her and her stories.
One more like for one hundred: 😁
She was one tough cookie ☺️. That’s why she lived a good long life. God rest her soul. One special lady. 👍🏻😘
She died?
@@skipscrop yeah:(
@@cayde-6288 when did she pass away? :(
Dear Dear Clara I miss you so ..
My mother and I found Clara over Thanksgiving and became addicted! My mother is a tough New Englander at 88 who still shovels snow, rakes leaves, and lives on her own. She loves Clara’s simple ways and recipes. Thank you for sharing her with us!🥰
The sincerity and honesty in her voice is so refreshing. ❤️
:)
Love her laugh a little giggle and very alert wonderful lady God bless
My grandmothers were powerhouses like Clara. Around the same age as her. That generation made strong women. 🙂
I literally cry every time I watch her vidoes Clara is so sweet, makes me think of my grandma and how much I learned from her.
Same!!
I just found this today when did she pass😢

Azizo thank you ☺️
Same here
I love her laugh. It brings me so much joy. I'm going through so much right now and for just a few minutes I forgot about my troubles. Thank you for sharing Miss Clare
She has that power, to sweep you away from your reality and put you right there with her ☺💞
Yes, we could all probably use a good dose of Clara these days!!💜
Great lady..hope I will be that age..I enjoy all my great.kids..13...gr kids..cooking enjoyed her video to...thanks...
Clara reminds me of my Grandma Dear, and her name was Clara too! She was a little tiny thing, but a strong lady...she was a butcher in her younger days!
I so enjoy hearing these conversations..
TY for sharing 😊
Sweet Clara. 💕
I wish everyone loved and respected their grandmother the way he did. Young folks can learn so much, but often we grow old before we realized all the missed opportunities.
She's such a treasure, a jewel, a gem. I miss my grandma terribly. She was born in 1916. Died 4 months later after her 90th birthday. As much as I would love to make it to 90, if the Lord lets me I want to make it to 80. And be strong like Clara with titanium/bleached bones lol. #thegreatestgeneration
She beat you at arm wrestling because of all that potato and garlic peeling! Primed for competition. LOL
I love Clara, She reminds me of my mom stubborn always wanting do things herself she born 1924 die on her 94th birthday I miss her every day I
She is so cute to think the guy would have minded dirt under her fridge❤
Mosca Froglover Isn’t she a treasure 💜
@@MessyPaperCrafter Yes, she most certainly is❤❤
Clara reminds me of my mom sometimes. If she were alive now she would have been 94. What great memories to share at this time.
I have the same couch as Clara!!!! 😁 it's my grandmothers couch that I was given when she passed.
My husband's grandma who lived to 107 had these huge terra cottages potted plants.
Even until her 90s she wanted them out in the sun during the day in winter and in at night.
Huge pots, like for a small tree.
She'd ask my husband to move the plants after work.
If he had to work late which was a couple times every couple weeks, when he got there the plants were already moved. By her.
She lived alone, with help from family and neighbors until age 102.
Then another 4 years with her daughter, the last months in a hospice.
Born 1899
Passed in 2006
107 years.
Parts of 3 centuried.
Strong women!
The fridgerator story is the best. What an AWESOME Gramma. God bless her little sweet soul. ❤❤❤💔💔💔🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
How wonderful this woman was and is ❤️❤️❤️
Missing my grandmas.
The laughter and love continue's........... thank you Christopher for sharing these wonderful memories!
Her voice & her laugh make me both want to cry & smile! She was so special. Her family is so blessed to have been loved by her.
She was a quick lady... sharp as a tack! Love these candid moments.
Beautiful Conversation between Grandma & Grandson cherish moments
I can so relate to her ways.
I just love her. You are so blessed to have had her as your grandmother.
Nobody laughs anymore.... I love her laugh. My dad taught me when I was young that nobody would help me because I was a girl....wow... I learned that lesson all through life. Bleach is a good habit to have. Thank you for posting and sharing these precious moments with us....it has been a brutal day and I needed this. Peace be with you
I hope tomorrow will be easier for you. Warm greetings from New Zealand.
You're right that nobody laughs anymore. I pray that will change. I hope you are okay and your day is good.
I just lost my Grandpa. He was 91. I so wish we captured his stories, memories and musings on video.
Gradmas are generations of memories. I miss my grandma everyday. I’ll always come back to this channel to find a reason to continue with this journey. Mrs. Clara left a huge legacy not only in UA-cam, but in the heart of everyone who love her ❤️🙏🏻😇
love Clara!!! for ever!!!
Clara's voice is such a comfort. I love her spunk and independent drive!
This had me laughing and crying! Clara was an amazing woman. The relationship you had with her was beautiful!! Filled my heart!
I miss you Clara!
😞😪😔😌😒🙌💔
Yes i koved watching her cook and her stories
Clara had the sweetest voice
I know, right?☺💕
What a great lady! Tough as they come!
How blessed you were and are. Not many people have a photo journal of love and recipes to look back on. Bless you for continuing to share Clara with us.
Oh Clara you are missed! You remind me so much of my mom, she is 94 and still keeps her own house with my dad who is almost 96. They still drive, cut their own lawn, cook, and still self sufficient. Clara would have gotten along great with them.
She had such a beautiful, kind and humble spirit. Really enjoy these videos.
💗 She not only can move the refrigerator, she moved lots of hearts.
Love it!!!Grandma was fiesty!!💘
Loved this. Clara’s a gem. Such a simple topic, but love Clara’s take on it. Yes, you clean under the fridge because you care what people think, and yes you put it back before they get there because you don’t want them to know you did it!! 😛Hehehe. Love Clara’s determination and brutal honesty. With her honesty there was INTEGRITY...Something we rarely see in today’s world when people are blunt/“honest.”
My son and I watch these videos together. She is such a great lady - honest, great moral character, loving. Things that are often missing with people in today's times.
Haha, the arm-wrestling! We used to do that with my nonna, too, and her hands and arms were always so strong! She gave the best shoulder and back rubs because she could press and massage with more force than just about anyone else. We asked her why she was so strong, and she said that she grew up scrubbing the wooden floors on her hands and knees, and cleaning and polishing the coal-fired stove (it had chrome trim that her mother wanted to shine like a mirror) every day, and then when her sister married, she also took over her sister's chore of making all the bread by hand. I guess that would do it!
She is the sweetest :)
I miss Clara so much. I admired her courage and strength. She never failed to bring a smile or laugh from me.
Wholesome.🌻🌷 Exactly what we need in these dark days !! Where did all the good, old fashioned and simple times go ?? 😪🥀
Your grandma was an absolute treasure.
I sure miss sweet Clara. She continues to inspire me!
Nothing beats a story and snack on a lazy afternoon.
Honestly, days feel brighter listening to these videos.
Gotta love Grandma Clara! What a doll!
I come back here for a dose of Clara when I am sad. They had it hard, but it made them resilient and they didn’t fight over stupid things. They loved and protected their family. Love her, so happy these were made before she passed ❤️ Chris❤️ great job!
So precious. My grandmother painted her cape code house herself in her late 70s.
Makes my day to hear Clara..what precious recordings
I love her laugh........thanks for sharing Clara with us.
I was fortunate to have my grandmother Rosa who was born in 1900 for 22 years. The impression she made on everyone who knew her is deep and won’t be forgotten. I call her a saint because she was a beacon of love❤️
I just love Clara, even though she’s has passed!!! Love all her stories🙏🙏✝️✝️✝️❤️❤️❤️😘😘😘💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻, God Bless her always 🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️😘😘
Fantastic memories that I know you hold near and dear to your 💓! Wonderful Chris!
Bless your heart to keep this channel going. You're her grandson I believe? I wish I could have had a better relationship with my grandma. Instead I was too busy getting high and I feel so bad about it now. I miss you grandma.
She would be so happy you don't need to do that any more. Keep living your best life and it will honor her.
The fact that you have sincere regret for it shows character, I understand how you feel. Do positive things going forward , the past is gone.😀
I love hearing her laugh. TFS
What a wonderful woman😊 I could listen to her stories all day.
Thank you so much.. that was really nice to hear you two just talking and having fun. She had such a contagious laugh and loved you so much. You can hear in your teasing how close you were.🤗😊
I miss her. She reminded me of my grandma.
So beautiful!!!! You are a GREAT GRANDSON!! GOD BLESS YOU SWEETHEART
Thank you for sharing her with the rest of the world. Precious moments
I love watching Clara cooking shows. She is so beautiful with a sweet spirit.
I loved how she had to ask how old she was
Your grandma at 93 reminds me so much of my mom at 94.
Thanks to you, Clara is still a treasure.💜
Your grandmother reminds me of my great-great grandmothers, great grandmothers and grandmothers.
Always a pleasure to share a little of Clara. Thank you!
I can relate to that story.....I would have done the same thing. 😂 So good to hear Clara again. I miss her laugh.
I miss Clara's videos so much! Today is such a great day 😭
Gosh I miss you Clara, I felt like I lost my Nonna when you passed
Reminds me of my grandma. I love you guys
Reminds me of my gran. Broke my arm and got a full bath and clean shoes before the trip to the ER. she wasn't gonna be thought of as dirty! Lol
That's something I would do! I laughed through the whole video. 💕I just love Clara💕
It was great to hear Clara's voice and wit again.
She was such a sweetheart
I just discovered Clara and she reminds me of my great grandmother so much. Her candor, the way she tells stories, how she compares then and now. Im crying tears of joy.
I still use her cookbook and gifted a few. I miss her so much but these videos and audio keeps her going.
She had the bestest, warmest, coziest voice and twinkly chuckle in the whole world.
Omg how funny she was. She had fun with u. I hear how u enjoyed her. I would miss her too. She lived a long life. What a treasure she was. 🥹
There needs to be more people like her In the world
Clara reminds me of my great aunt, Sadie Ruth. Everyone called her Aunt Bubba. She was born at home in 1920; the youngest of nine children that lived. She lived through the Depression and had the best stories of of the "old days". She would make a lot of the same meals and coffee was a big part of her life. To this day her coffee is some of the strongest I've ever had. No one could drink it black, like she did. She smoked at least a pack of Lucky Strike no filters a day starting all the way back in 1942! Never had cancer, emphysema, or any other health issues. Mentally clear and lived on her own. Ate three meals a day. Never snacked between meals. Up every morning at six o'clock and in bed by whenever she felt, but never before nine at night. She never drank either. She passed away in 2009 while I was stationed in Italy. It broke my heart that I couldn't attend the funeral. She died in the house she was born in of a massive and sudden brain aneurism. She is my favorite relative and I miss her dearly. Women like her and Clara are hard to come by these days. You're doing the world a great service by preserving her life and memory for future generations!
I’m telling you they were so strong’ and decent in a million ways. Thank Goodness’
Now a days with politics so polarizing, these videos has provided my mom and I a piece of common ground. I even bought her the book so we could talk and share stories about my grandma and the depression era. Thank you for keeping her memory alive. It's healing on many levels. Much love to your family. ❤💕
Nice job! Keep doing the good job! We all suport you!
Such a sweet soul I'm going out to get her book.Watching her makes me smile. And how her grandchildren love their Nana.
More please I can't get enough of her thank you so much for sharing her I love her
Hey. I'm only 61 but remember my Grandma making dinner on Monarch wood stove for all my aunts and cousins in the 60's. Usually a delicious roast with veggies served on a huge black walnut table at the farm. Simple but heartfelt glorious time for me
This makes me miss my grandparents. I miss Ms Clara too. All her recipes really hit home. My grandparents raised me. Ms Clara reminds me of my grandmother, strong as an ox but wouldn't admit it til I'd tease her about it. I'd give almost anything to go back for one day to talk to them.
I miss Clara so much! When she talked it was as if you were sitting with her visiting in her kitchen. Loved her and still love her. You had a smart grandmother! Thank you for continuing her channel!
Loved her laugh.
I actually gasped when I got the notification 😊💕
