- Hey Everyone! The Sprinkler Channel is at it again. Today we want to help you understand how the sprinkler valve solenoid works so you have a better understanding how your sprinkler system works and how water is able to be controlled by a small part on the valve. You didnt comment on any of the other knobs. Don't you think somebody may be looking for answers on what those do? Great video....
I just added a brand new 4th zone valve to my rainbird sprinkler system. I hooked up all the wiring by following the rainbird directions and verified I did it correctly in your other videos. If I manually open the solenoid, the sprinklers work properly. However, when I program or manually start the 4th zone, the sprinklers don’t pop up. What could I be doing wrong? Could the solenoid/valve be faulty? The other 3 zones work properly and the valve is brand new and clean
Either a wiring issue or a programming issue. Make sure valve has the common wire connected to it and the new zone wire both going should be connect at clock. Then make some run time is set for that station. Let us know if any of this is the issue or have any luck after trying this.
It was the common wire. I had 3 other zones connected to the common wire and this 4th one wasn’t making contact. Working now! Thanks
What voltage activates the solenoid? I am thinking out a project that is not about sprinklers. I won't be using a sprinkler controller
24V
Hi
Is there a video showing how to install the control valve?
I have tried to install a new (out of the box) control valve and can not seem to get it to close manually.
I have tried 3 different control valves and they all are in the open position.
I have checked for debris and everything. I can not figure out how to manually close the valve. I tried the flow control method, the bleed control method, and the solenoid method.
What am i doing wrong?
Thanks for the help.
Have you tried flushing the sprinkler valve? See our video on that.
