- Roofing in the winter is not advised, at least in colder regions. With that said, we had warmer than usual weather this week. We just finished this roof earlier today. It's already starting to stick down pretty well. There's a couple more days of 50° to 60° weather, so it will be nice and sealed before the next round of cold that moves in.

Going to be in 60s in Kokomo this week.
The temperature that's given is always from a shaded location. When it's 50°F or 105°F, That's the temp in the shade. I'm guessing that the south and west side of that roof was likely near 70°F in the sun.
I'm guessing you already knew about that. But when it's >95°F on a hot summer's day, the roofs tend to increase to unbearably hot temps
Yes, we've cooked hot dogs on roofs before. A couple pieces of mill finish flashing, and you're good to go!
What band of shingles are those?
First to comment but I know you say the 3 tab is not good so what shingle is the better one.
Any dimensional shingle is better than three tab.
What brands of shingles do you prefer for quality and longevity. What would you put on your mom's house or your own? This info would be very helpful. Thanks in advance!@@GrandRoofingInc
@@justinh6974 Certainteed Landmarks are a good shingle. I put those on my parents roof 13 years ago and they are still in great shape. And my house also has 12 year old Landmark shingles on it.
