@@ArmoryDiscGolf It might be, but I would say only slightly. It’s probably more run dependent than anything. Cosmic Neutron is there plastic where I think there is a definite increase in stability. That said - I prefer proton for all my stable MVP discs.
I'm weird because I've never thrown a Pure or Envy before. I might also be weird because I really dislike the Sonic/Polecat/Glitch family of discs. But I'm down to give em a try in the name of science haha
I started off my journey with a Plasma Envy and went down a huge splurge of try this, try that only to come back to the Envy as my primary thrower and putter.
I'm really surprised by how stable that Pure was. I'm sure it has to do with plastic/condition of the disc, but those were way closer than I expected! Gyro always wins in my books though. 😉
I would love to give the Pure a shot. I have a couple Envys in different plastics, but the Pure has a reputation as a great dead-straight throwing putter.
My pure is super weird. If I hyzer it goes straight for days and is more stable than I anticipate. If I throw flat it dumps over every time. It doesn't really hyzer to cut roll like I think it would with more power.
I've been using a neutron soft envy for a long time at my thrower. It's reliable and I love it, but I picked up a neutron proxy and that thing is absolute laser beams out to 250 easy.
^ Pure fan There's some tricky camera angle stuff going on here, but my left foot is going much more sideways than forward. I don't think I crossed the plane but then again I HAVE been known to be a dirty rotten cheater 😱😂
Nice video, like the pace & editing, you got a new sub! As I'm already throwing an Opto Pure and putting with a Zero Medium Pure, would love to give a try to the Envy. MVP midranges & most of my drivers all day already :)
I have the Envy, would love to throw (and own) the Pure (looks like a beautiful disc!). Also appreciate this giveaway is hidden in the video instead of plastered all over the title/description. Hopefully goes to someone who already watches your videos on the regular (like me 😉). Keep up the good work!
Proton Envy. A good throwing putter is something you want to have reliability with and that stability at the end really is something you can lean on, where the pure sometimes didn't do what was expected.
I'm going with the Envy, haven't tried any Proton plastic but I love my eclipse envy. Love that how far it can go for a putter while still being able to slow down and be 'touchy'.
I'd love to try a Pure in opto plastic, still new to disc golf but I've been learning on a cheaper used Pure and I feel like it's the most dependable and versatile putter.
I've got you down, good luck! I tossed a Nova many moons ago- very deep for my liking. That disc is funny because it was widely loved until McBeth stopped throwing it... we're all sheeple for whatever pros are throwing haha
@@ArmoryDiscGolf oh I didn’t know Paul threw it but it’s my main putter the rhyno and the colt were my previous approach disc but the colts too overstable for me and the rhyno has 1 glide so I switched
@@RJNewbz I wasn't referring to you specifically, just to be clear haha. Always wanted to try a Colt but I've never pulled the trigger... No pun intended
Congrats to @jillseif on winning this one- thanks to everyone for entering, we'll have another one in this week's video
Dang I’ll get the next one
The Berg will have its own video, I didn't forget about it 🤓
Going with the envy. It’s a great throwing putter and I’d love to try it in that plastic!
I've heard Proton is stable compared to other plastics- do you bag one already? Curious if this looks more stable to you

What course was that? I'm north of McKinney it looks like it's worth the trip down 🥏👍
Oak Cliff Founders Park, it's an 11 hole course near downtown. If you want the inner city version of Alex Clark, it's the place to go 😆
@@ArmoryDiscGolf Alex Clark is my favorite course 👍. I'll have to make a trip down and check it out thanks 👊🥏
The Envy is such a versatile disc. Nuff said lol
I love the Envy. Flies like a putter with the distance of a mid. It's great in all the plastics! I'm hoping to see the Glitch vs the Sonic/Polecat.

You always win in my book. Gl adding this one to the stash
Envy is good. Pure is horrible! You talking straight? Best throwing putter is still the aviar in any mold!
Not a Pure fan, huh? This was the first time I've thrown it, was expecting less stability
Aviar DX classic in 170's ftw! I don't know why, but i kept coming back to it. After 20+yrs of tossing, I guess its just mean to be...
I would love to give the Pure a shot. I have a couple Envys in different plastics, but the Pure has a reputation as a great dead-straight throwing putter.
Good luck snagging this one!
The perfect course for this.
Pure > Envy, because Disc Golf Valley
haha can't argue with that

Is your Pure pretty beat in? I've had some weirdo discs like that, the most recent being a broken in 300 A4
I've been using a neutron soft envy for a long time at my thrower. It's reliable and I love it, but I picked up a neutron proxy and that thing is absolute laser beams out to 250 easy.
Proxy video incoming shortly. That disc has been way too slept on for way too long
I absolutely LOVE that you took the time to find the runner-up to the best throwing putter of all time....The Copperhead
The Envy would've won that CTP today... 😬😂
Also hell yes do a Berg video, Armadillo from Lone Star discs as an honorable mention for cool plastic utility discs
The Dillo might make an appearance... 😉
I actually think it's the closest thing to a Berg- stuff like Polecats are too touchy in comparison
That pure looks sweet! I used to throw a zero Pure that was a hyzerflip to dead straight machine!
That's what I was expecting out of this one tbh. Surprised but not mad at it, like I said
The envy is the greatest throwing putter of all time because it's the one I'm going to win from this giveaway.
🤞🤞
Dude they’re so different you can’t compare them, the pure is a roller of a putter and the envy is a splice
well that wasn't my experience at all haha
Disc golf rules query, on 7 would that be a foot fault as he positioned his foot closer to the basket from the looks of it.. ?
^ Pure fan
There's some tricky camera angle stuff going on here, but my left foot is going much more sideways than forward. I don't think I crossed the plane but then again I HAVE been known to be a dirty rotten cheater 😱😂
The envy all the way its been my throwing putter ever since the holy shot I love how great it throws as well as how the disc is nice and touchy
I love when pros turn us towards discs that have been great all along. Like Simon is doing with the entire MVP lineup haha
I haven't thrown the Pure, but I'd love to win it so I can do my own comparison with the envy.
got you entered, good luck!
The pures with Jonathan Fastborg’s horse drawing are best
I've seen his Fuse's, haven't seen the Pures
🔥🔥🔥
Love the envy and would love to try it in proton. Good comparison video.
Got you entered, good luck!
OOP gripline pure is the OG of throwing putters.
The Pure is a classic for sure, that's a big reason it got the nod over stuff like Lunas and Sky Gods
I take the Envy because it is a better throwing putter
haha that's a good reason. Good luck!
The envy because it’s gyro an that’s science
lol can't argue with science. Good luck!
Pure - like the more neutral stability
I'm with you on that. Maybe I just need to try an Electron Envy, though
*cough cough* AviarX3 *cough cough*
Splitting hairs, but I think I'd toss that in the "approach disc" category with Zones, Pigs, etc
Envy all day, every day. Great content. Keep up the awesome work.
Thank you much 👊
@@ArmoryDiscGolf 👊
That pure sure looks sweet!
hopefully you can snag it, got you down! Good luck
The pure for me
Great disc. Flies so different in different plastics, which is actually kinda nice
Zone v entropy?
I think the Entropy is a fine disc. Not my GOAT approach disc though... 😉
Nice video, like the pace & editing, you got a new sub! As I'm already throwing an Opto Pure and putting with a Zero Medium Pure, would love to give a try to the Envy. MVP midranges & most of my drivers all day already :)
Surprised you're not already on the Envy then, it's typically one of the first gyro molds people pick up. Good luck!

Thanks for the continued support, good luck on snagging this Pure 👊
That envy is gorgeous and is exactly what I'm looking for in a throwing putter tbh, maybe I'll bag an envy 👀
maybe you will 👀
This Envy IS really pretty
Proton Envy. A good throwing putter is something you want to have reliability with and that stability at the end really is something you can lean on, where the pure sometimes didn't do what was expected.
I do really appreciate the dependability of the Envy. Really like how straight the Pure pushes on higher power, though

I'd imagine this one would be pretty similar stability to Eclipse, hopefully you can find out 😏
I'd love to try a Pure in opto plastic, still new to disc golf but I've been learning on a cheaper used Pure and I feel like it's the most dependable and versatile putter.
Oh I bet this one would be a nice stable counterpart to it
Can I get one? I do need a better approach disc.
Also try the xt nova
