I remember when I first watched this movie in the theater. Then when it was released on VHS, my sister rented it every week for a year. In college, I joined the fraternity that had the highest GPA of all the fraternities and sororities on campus. Being a member reminded me of the revenge of the nerds. Nerds in Paradise is my favorite comedy from that era.
favorite part of the movie, no doubt. I remember recording this on my family's DVR on a whim as I wanted to see it, but we didn't have a copy. When watching it, I remember wondering why Booger was classified as a 'nerd' (besides the nose picking...) My uncle, as an 80's kid, explained that pot-smoking wasn't as popular as it is today, so the only place a pot smoker would fit in would be with a group of rejects AKA nerds.
Watching this as an adult with my teenage son had me laughing so hard that I was crying! He absolutely loved the movie, but was stunned at the amount of racist/homophobic/sexist jokes. The 80s were another time, that's for sure!
I agree with you on every level, and have recently had an identical experience with my teenage son and this movie. As for the tropes, stereotypes, homophobia, etc … My take is this: None of that was vitriolic or mean-spirited. It wasn’t designed to marginalize anyone. Sometimes I wonder if these “offended ones” even exists. If so, what percentage of the actual population are they? .0000001% of the overall population? And to what lengths should we go to not offend them? Be responsible with what you create with an artist - - of course. No one takes issue with that. But suppressing creativity in the name of political correctness will ensure that we never have another classic like ‘Revenge Of The Nerds’ ever again.
@plantmillionsofteees5676 I agree 100% You can't say anything with out someone saying " you can't say that, it's offensive ". Chances are they are not the one who is offended. More than likely saying it thinking it will prove they aren't a bigot or racist themselves. Like the ones who say " I have lots of black friends, some of my best friends are black. Knowing damn well it's a lie Funny how homophobic people were 20 years ago, now everyone says I love gay people and I've never had a problem with it. All these damn politically correct people, where the hell did all of you come from all the sudden. . The world is way to soft now. I don't care what you are as long as you aren't an asshole and treat people fucked up. Assholes come in all colors, genders, straight, gay, you name it. So as long as you treat people with respect and are good to animals you are good with me. But people should be able to speak their minds and feel how they wanna feel. If you don't like the way someone is, you shouldn't feel like you have to fall in line to being politically correct without the fear of being "cancelled" lol. Because they sure don't have a problem calling you some sort of offensive term for not agreeing with all the other sheep. Sorry for the rant.
Haha I remember watching this as a kid. How cool was pointdexter with the hair and violin and an Elvis booger. Even Lamar is was more masculine than this gen 2023.The 80's! Put me in a Delorean, I'd travel back and burn the car.
It all began with this movie. All the nerds you see today being all proud and telling everyone they like Star Wars and computer games. Nerd pride began with this movie. It should be burned.
chris walls excuse me but my great grandpa died in the war. Better watch what ur saying Becuz it's quite offensive without people going to war u might not be alive
War is unneeded. Thousands of people charging into battle only to die, over the most trivial things. Nobody cares if your great-grandfather died. He was one of many to waste time, giving their lives to change nothing. Every issue in this world can be solved with logic and reason. But no, people see a disagreement as something that has to be resolved with force.
Because they’re all geniuses and it is probably hooked up electrically (you can see the violin electric cord) to make it sound like it, along with what ev the two in yellow are doing!!!
Coach: That’s it they’re dead Me: No Coach Coach: What are you Me: You can’t turn students against each other Board Staff: You’ve been turning students against each other Coach: Yeah but Board Staff: You’re fired and as for the football team you’re suspended for a year Coach: But then we’ll lose state Me: Coach this is a school and this school is about more than people throwing a not round ball for touchdowns
I pull up and jam this picking up my 13 year old from school..she walks away from the car like ohhh no here he comes, playing that ish again...ill change the songs tho...i think its 😅😅😅😅😅
The Nerds snapped on this one. This is still fresh after all these years.
I remembered this......but I totes forgot how *AWESOME* it was!!!!
Snapped everywhere lol
They definitely did
Ohio! It’s the gyatt!
The one thing I always remember about this movie (which I haven't watched since I was a kid) is how cool the violin sounded.
It was actually a synth making that violin sound.
@@RAM_DOS He was the OG fake violin player
I had to look this up because I'm about to watch it. 1984... time flies.
I thank God I was blessed with the privilege of being a kid in the 80s this kicked ass then and 40 years later it’s still kicking ass!!!!!
I was a teen. I agree with you
I can watch this a million times and never get tired of this love this epic classic scene
Agree 💯 percent
And 20 years later they became the Trans-Siberian Orchestra.
The boys and the moos are clappin’ along! Hahaha! ❤

I'm more shocked at how over sensitive people are today. People need to lighten up and stop finding ways to be offended.
and the revenge porn and the date rape!
If your son laughed at it then you raised a strong headed son
@plantmillionsofteees5676 I agree 100%

Born in 79.
Right on time 😊
Awesome song! Still great after all these years!🎉
The movie choreographer designed a dance that would go along with Lamar's limp-wristed dancing style
This was a major highlight of that movie.
Best concert I ever went to.
Great 80's song, makes me sad that era had to end :(
First 2 Nerd movies are great. This would be a good ringtone.
Excellent one!
Before this movie it was shameful to be a nerd. Nerds today look nothing like nerds back in the day. Its cool to be a nerd today.
Ive sure enough noticed that! World is changing not 4 the better.
Rock and hip Hop will reign forever🙏🏾💯
I loved this movie as a kid and this was my favorite part! Thanks for the memory!
I always like the scene where the guys break into the “ pie” house. Betty’s ass.

This song plays on repeat in my head.
Clap your hand everybody, everybody clap hands...

Ahh...yes..Goose! And a cast of so many that was perfect for this classic 80s movie...thanks for the post...
Dat electric violin tho
Still amazes the shit out of me that Poindexter was Timothy busfield the man who went on to create thirtysomething
It all began with this movie. All the nerds you see today being all proud and telling everyone they like Star Wars and computer games. Nerd pride began with this movie. It should be burned.
but.. star wars has always been popular !.. since the first star wars movie..1977.. and even a jock can be a 'nerd'..
chris walls excuse me but my great grandpa died in the war. Better watch what ur saying Becuz it's quite offensive without people going to war u might not be alive

BioActiveScout 629 nobody cares? Excuse me who do u junk u are? Unlike you I have a heart and care if people die jerk
K Unicorn I'm happy he died
Lamar saw the future of hip hop
I'll take this over the next romantic comedy or action thriller featuring rebels with a heart of gold and an evil corporation
Poindexter on violin is every Lindsey Stirling concert or video. He did it first.
They nailed it.
Great Movie Scene.
Got goosebumps the first time I saw this
Love this movie, reminds me my times at the university :D
Tec1 Cybertron yea Great Movie.❤
They killed it this song was dope
That violin though.
He's actually playing it like Jean-Luc Ponty.
the violin is everything
A little trivia Poindexter played by Timothy Busfield. Was a spouse to Laura Ingles on Little House on the Prairie Melissa Gilbert.
Am I the only one who thinks they look cool here?
sliat1981 probably
No ur not
we all have a little nerd in us-lewis scolnick
Pointdexter was actually in the movie "Sneakers" as a computer nerd
That’s Timothy Busfield. He’s been in a whole lot of stuff. He was also in Field of Dreams as the brother in law that was trying to sell the farm.
After 9 years of this post video . Lol i came across to this . I just wachted today in the morning lol
This was one of my favorite movies! Still is!
loved all things tecno from this moment
Animal House ain't got nothing on this nerd nuttiness!
Beautiful!!!!!!
This reminds me a lot of Kraftwerk
Kraftwerk is the godfather of Synth and techno.
This never gets old
I remember this winning two Grammies that night
It's sad iv seen this movie so many times ik this song by heart LoL
Why is that sad?
MASTERPIECE…
Ever once in a while, I listen to this and then listen to the AVGN theme song. I try to think of a little Weird Al paraody.
Hahaha! An Asian wearing a Native chief’s head dress.
asian? Was he from India? Maybe he was ORIENTAL. Yes, that's it. There are 40+ countries in Asia, genius.

No, 1985! It was a loner from Marty Mcfly!
best music video from the 80's
Always remember good old Lamar
Why do they call you booger?
I don't know, precedes to pick nose.
Kinda reminds me of Devo.
THIS IS THE 📡 ANTENNA KING 👑 OF FRESNO THEME SONG 😂😂😂😂😂
My Only Critique ; It Should Have Been Two Minutes Longer!
Lamar with the break dancing
1:50 coffee cup put down.
The lexicologgy is great

Thanks, kids!
Terrica Williams also earth princess of eternity
Wormser is my favorite.
If you love this movie like I do, then you should watch it with the commentary from the actors. It's just as funny.
anyone ever wonder how the Mohawk dude at :12 can make a violin sound like a synthesizer? lol
WanderleiSilva29 technology
Because they’re all geniuses and it is probably hooked up electrically (you can see the violin electric cord) to make it sound like it, along with what ev the two in yellow are doing!!!
It's a movie. He isn't really playing violin. It's a synthesizer
@@lanamedcalf1561 you put pickups on the violin bridge.
John Cale used it with VU back in the day.
Nothing new.
MIDI pickups have existed since the 70’s.
Coach: That’s it they’re dead
Me: No Coach
Coach: What are you
Me: You can’t turn students against each other
Board Staff: You’ve been turning students against each other
Coach: Yeah but

Tri Lams have more talent than any band in 2024.
I wish this how the move started and they show how they got to there
Then go watch it
Holding a phone (cheap one) in front of a TV (junk one) should be illegal. You disgrace the Nerds.
