SGPT high or ALT high indicates the risk of liver damage or also known as liver inflammation. The reason being one, there may be a fatty liver, two there may be a virus, three there be because of medications. Four it maybe because or immunity related problem called as autoimmune liver disease. Five it can be because of metals like copper or iron more in the liver. These are the reasons for high SGPT levels and also one of the common raisin being excessive alcohol intake which causes ALT elevation. When do we make ALT to become normal? We have to diagnose what is the reason for ALT elevation. What we do for ALT elevation is we do tests. We look at copper more in the body and iron more in the body and we look at any immunity related problem. We have to find out the reason, if it is because of fatty liver, we have to reduce weight and then we start medications to reduce the ALT. If it is because of virus we give medicines to reduce ALT. If it is because of autoimmune liver disease there will be medicines accordingly for autoimmune liver disease. If it is because of copper or iron then we reduce these metals in our food consumption and also we give medicines to reduce ALT.

Indirect Bilirubin 9.90 direct biliburin 365
Aug 31: Sgpt is 1490.90 Sgot is 696.22 ALP 194.04 indirect Bilirubin 36.40 direct biliburin 257
I also got whole abdomen and rectal contrast CT scan Aug 21 and the said findings all my organs are normal and the liver but my gallbladder impression : contracted gallbladder . Thickened walls, likely due to an inflammatory process. Suggest clinical correlation and laboratory parameters.

Hi Mine, SGPT and SGOT was 172 and 139. But with in one month it came down to 42 and 35, so yes you can control it. you first have to diagnose what is causing this, I had done my USG and found out that I have NFALD grade 1 which was causing issue, I have changed my diet and started exercising like (running, walking and weight lifting), I have lost 3 kg in a month and although I am not obese but still have to loose weight in order to remove fat from the liver. Bro i reduced sgpt from60 to 28in just 40days...
Avoid sugar red meat and fried food... Eat more veg and fruits.. Reduce carbohydrates.. Eat daily kariku(tender cocunut) exercise daily..... You can reduce it within a month

Pls take kariku(tender coconut)daily.drink water and flesh also.. Try for 50days...avoid red meat fried food.. Reduce amount of carbohydrates.. Include vegetables and fruits.. Avoid bakery item... Then do regular exercise...... You will find magical results in50 days...
With 40 days i reduced it from 60 to 28....also cut the sugar..
