The OG Influencers:
Вставка
- Опубліковано 17 бер 2021
- Back when the only entertainment the youth had access to was on MTV and Channel [V], 90s kids powered through life watching India's OG comedians, cool hunters and influencers every single day: VJs. Between zany characters and catchphrases that have been permanently branded onto our brains, what they had in common was that they were all... completely nuts.
We chased down Gaurav Kapur, José Covaco, Cyrus Sahukar, Anu Menon, Manish Anand and Yudhistir Urs for the second episode of our comedy roundtable series 'DA Huddle', bravely hosted by VJ Juhi (Pande).
Big hits of nostalgia guaranteed obvs, but watch this also for surprisingly valuable insights and perspective, some necessary gyaan on comedy and content, and some VERY unnecessary distractions.
Disclaimer: No crows were harmed in the making of this episode. MIND IT.👆🏽

As someone who was lucky enough to be exposed to the great work of these incredibly talented people, this makes my heart warm. A great conversation between absolute pioneers. Back then they were the only ones who were creating programming for the adolescent Indian generation. Hearing their behind the scene stories is just brilliant. Love these long form interviews, genuinely hope to see a lot more of these going forward.
Great work Team DeadAnt!
Still crying, thank you for doing this guys🥺
The real OGs 😍
YOU ALL ARE THE OG'S.❤️ I AM MISSING THE OTHER CYRUS AND SO MANY OTHER VJ'S FROM BOTH MTV & CHANNEL V.
TODAY'S VJ'S ARE SO LAME. RANNVIJAY IS OLD IRRITATING AND IS EVERYWHERE. HATE HIM. NIKHIL CHINAPPPA HAS LOST HIS CHARM. AND VJ GELEN WAS OKAY TILL SHE WAS ONLY DOING COMEDY BUT NOW SHE IS IN ROADIES HUSTLE ETC. IT IS JUST A POOR TASTE IF VJ'S.
Lol I'm Cyrus Sahukar on zoom calls. "Guys how are you doing this background thing, I also want!"
OGs 🙌🏽
Brought a smile back on the face! Enjoyed listening to them! Also, the VJs before them. Cyrus Broacha, Nikhil Chinapa, Maria Goretti, Luke Kenny, Malaika Arora and many more really meant the world to the "90s kids". It was a cultural transition from the Doordarshan to MTV and Channel V. Those 2 hours every evening (I think 4pm to 6pm) of MTV telecast was like a whole new world !
You described Part 2 of this conversation!
You’ll were the face of the first English content that we were allowed to watch in our house.
There is a reason why they didn't call Cyrus Broacha.....he just wouldn't let anyone speak...hahahaha... But Cyrus Broacha is like the OG Mtv guy To be honest as Sahukar said in his own words. Hozey you will always have our hearts❤️❤️❤️ for countless years.
And to top it all yes Juhi you still look Cute.❤️😘
Hoezzay was my Idol. I remember Jose's brief #Nostalgia
In search of gold, we lost diamonds❤️
That's deep
Sathyam thanne
VJs were the youtubers of that time!Totally agree!🤩
Add Nikhil chinappa and cyrus brocha.
This is an epic grouping which needs their own channel today
Who can forget the iconic Semi Girebaal! Just amazing. Shout out to the graphics team as well. Genuinely cool.
Lenduk army OP
I literally wanted to become them when i was little & watching MTV & channel V🥺🥺🥺🥺
Juhi still looks the same. She have not aged a day. Damn, I still have crush on her.😍
I am 21. You guys and youth have influenced a lot and in a positive way. You all have will always be liked. Coming from a tier 2 city.
Absolutely loved this!! Relived my entire childhood in the 55 mins!! My cousins and I used to wait for MTV fully faltoo, we also watched channel v hotline religiously after school! Thank you for this!!!
Legends say that Cyrus is still searching for Virtual Background animation.
Juhi for the validation u wanted - I swear u looked like Sandra Bullock in Speed 😎
There has to be another part with this panel. 55mins wasn't enough.
These guys pioneered Video Jockeying for India and are still on the top of the tree.
Come on, another part, please?
Well, we do have about four hours of footage...
@@DeadAntCo post it raw
@@DeadAntCo Let it rip! I'm sure they is some more gold and wit in there ... Let us have it, please!

Watching them talking like a mature person, and me hearing them out so curiously is making me realise that I have become old as they've.
This, my dear fellows, is a treasure trove of my childhood VJs. I almost had wet eyes remembering all those moments ❤️ love you all 😘
Cyrus broacha would complete this list for me.
He wouldn’t let anyone else speak lol
This was such a fun panel. Dude I grew up watching these guys. I love and admire all the 7 faces here. The OGs. And Gaurav explained internet hatred and trolling perfectly. Love you guys. Thanks for being the source of fun when I was growing up. :)
o fuck, i didnt even know channel V is shut down till gaurav mentioned. I have completely stopped watching tv except sports. damn, there goes one more childhood memory.
These guys influenced me a lot during my childhood to be cool, what an OG generation man
Hello Dinosaur gen VJs ...
This is a gorgeous conversation idea and set of people you could come up with... Channel V , MTV, 9XM etc were like pets or babies nowadays to whom you want to go back home for...watching you guys were taste of early liberation as growing teenagers ...
Thank you for coming up with this.. i wish finding enjoyment were simpler like having Mtv, channel v and 9xm in your cable connection..love you guys
From a Dinosaur gen viewer/fan
This brought back so many good memories
Truly the influencers for the OG India millennials
Nostalgic sitting and watching this here from New York
My childhood on one screen ❤️
MTV & Channel V were UA-cam before UA-cam. Well said. Missing them all & the 90's.
DAMN, GREW UP WITH PRETTY MUCH ALL OF THEM.. MISS NIKHIL CHINAPPA AND CYRUS BROACHA IN THIS CONVERSATION. MY FAV STILL REMAINS SAHUKAR AND AND HIS SIMI GEREWAL SHOW MAKES ME CRY WITH LAUGHTER EVEN TODAY. DAMN, I FEEL OLD MAN..
Hahaha... simi girebal hahahaha
Who remembers MTV Most Wanted with Shenaz? And who sent a Backstreet Boys sparkly handmade chart paper poster so she would play a request? No one? Okay cool
You're a fuckin dinosaur man
@@devarshi1301 taking help from the grandkids to help type this fuck off

A permanent podcast worthy group..
Thanks to UA-cam algorithm which brought me here. This conversation was
like a trip down memory lane for us '90s kids. Started watching MTV
ever since it came to our shores and Channel V in the 2000s. It was our
UA-cam before UA-cam indeed. Thank you, Juhi for hosting this amazing
panel. We owe some of the best years of my life to you guys.
This is the best panel discussion I have spent my time with. Even when they are discussing they make us go through these rollercoaster ride of emotions ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Look at that line-up!!!
fiyaaaah!
Yesss! You guys were the OG influencers. No question about that. Thanks for this guys❤️
Best thing I saw this week!
Hoezaay's the reason I started wearing baggy pants and oversized t-shirts 😄💙
This is so wholesome, thanks for doing this DeadAnt. Such a lovely treat for 90s grownups !!!
That was sooo entertaining! Maza aa gaya😂😂😂. Very informational. I am not from the MTV VJ generation but fir bhi I related to the references. Amazing episode
Thank you for bringing them all in one frame ❤️❤️❤️🤩
Great one!!! 90s kids and these OGs 💯🔥
This makes me nostalgic :') Thank you guys
Sahukar and Yudi comes as most sorted and most sane. i mean all of em are very smart and funny but they are on Social media and have seen them on interviews and shows bt sahukar and Yudi i am watching after long long time. its so refreshing to hear them talk. this is second time i am watching and enjoying as much.
Really it makes me nostalgic!!!
Thank you guys ..love ya all❤️❤️
Oh my god. This is blessing. THANK YOU
One screen legends screams. I love you all.
We need another hour of this please.
Juhi is so pretty!! Her face is similar to Anya Taylor-Joy.
this is vintage man .. pure classic gold .
WOW...THIS WAS A GEM OF A PODCAST! LOVED IT!!!❤️❤️❤️
This is like my childhood back .. Thank you for this 👍🏻
A trip down the 2000s Indian TV. Special love for Hoezaayyyy! 💜💜💜💜
I am so glad to have watched this...
Hey the time machine works. I'm back to 2000s.
"...the viewer wants heart"
This is so true!
What a fun panel!!! Enjoyed every bit of it. Only Cyrus brocha is missing 😍😍
In some ways it’s good he is not there he will probably not let anyone speak.😂😂
But yeah he is the real OG along with chinappa and that would have been an absolute gold panel.
This was such a fantastic and nostalgic segment..
The Quality and Quantity discussion is so on point by GK! 🙌🏼🙌🏼
great conversation! Somebody is covering the REAL youth culture. Thanks DeadAnt.
Need one more of this.... All of you again....
The real talent ... respect 👏🏻👏🏻
Oh I love you all so much... too much nostalgia man... 😍😍😍
Man i am so oldd 😭😭😭😭 bring back that tiiiime.. 💜💜💜💜💜
The best thing I've watched today
This felt like having a nice pleasant wholesome meal. You guys are still the kings and queens of cool for us!
Also Juhi’s the cutest!
Luv u guys. . Miss those days 😭😭when u guys used to do real Vjying . Mtv and Channel V..
Guys just loved it. I don't know if anyone from your team is reading this comment but it would be great if you could upload the uncut version of this video doesn't matter how long it is. Because I just fell in love with all you talking about your journey, how you took things as they came and how you handled different situations. If possible please upload the uncut version. Thanks for this amazing video.
Literally It was nostalgic ❤️
This was cathartic, you guys
Group hug that was awesome.
Enjoyed it👍🏻 Bawaal Panel.
Will definitely watch the 2nd, 3rd , 4th part... so please keep them coming.
Thanks :)
Juhi was Channel V's Jose for me. Wittiest one.
There was one time when she tried cricket commentary with Archana Vijay for a couple of minutes and did it way better than her despite Archana Vijay doing it regularly back then!
Got thunderstruck with nostalgia!!😭❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😍😍
Wow! What a blast from the past! ❤️
Man! you guys are my favorites! I cant stop telling how much fun my youth was caz of you guys! and you all were truly the influencers of our generation!
I seriously want to tell how much influence yall had! My cousin sister is a complete mix of Juhi and Bani! Even to this day! And I remember more of my cousins that are a result of you guys! I think I am in some way too..
Wish people of today could know your worth. No one is as mature as you guys with the way you created content, or even spoke! People of this day are so lame! We all want more of you guys! Quality is much needed these days, and yall are the answer to that!
The irony of how instagram algorithms dictate the worth of influencers is tragic! We badly need you guys back on the game..
PS. Juhi, I had a big crush on you, even to this day! Cannot get past that.. Love u..
This was sooo awesome!!!! Thank you DeadAnt
This Is Gold, Should be getting more views 👍
Fully Faaltu was the best thing on TV ngl. My mum and I still talk about Pareshaan Aswasthi.
This my teenage years all here. ❤️❤️
Still remember Lola kutty on channel V :)
I didn't knew anyone except Guarav whom I had seen as IPL exxxtra innings anchor for more than 6-7 years. Now watching this video and knowing his backstory along with other guys specially jose,I am overwhelmed with joy to understand how this social "influencing" process started in Indian television specially from post 2000
Thank you guys for all your contributions to the Indian television industry.💚🤩💚🤩💚🤩💚
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS💞💗
Miss Cyrus Brocha..😁✌🏽
Weird that these guys made me laugh more than the stand up comedians you had previously🤣🤣🤣
The fact why we still like cricbuzz shows more than the star sports ones.
When quality is fine enough, people will find you.
Age of innovation is over in media. Vijay OP 🔥
Omg. U all still look amazing.. enjoyed the conversation throughout. Thanks 🙂
Amazing guys 👍❤️ keep posting more videos
Loved it!
Kindly post the raw footage this is pure gold.
Loved it 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Every 90s buddy knows you all .. tysm for entertainment, and fun you guys gives us. . and yes we also know the truth' that today's generation are so narcissistic that they have no clue what is real content is to be.
Brilliant mad conversation!
How happy am I watching this ☺️
Every full watch of the video is a sign of admiration of your work. People talk only when they have an objection. Most people are not eloquent admirers.
A ratio of views + positive comments divided by total views + comments should be your leading indicator of Performance
Partial video watch is negative.
