It's clear from Daniel 2 and Daniel 7 that the 4 kingdoms represented by the metals and beasts are Babylon, Media-persia, Greece and Rome. This is important because the little horn (little kingdom) is to arise from the divided Roman Empire (beast with ten horns and iron teeth). Furthermore the little horn is to uproot 3 of the 10 kingdoms of the 4th beast(divided Roman empire). There can only be one kingdom that can fulfill this prophecy. It is indeed the power of the Roman Papacy that destroyed 3 areas of the divided Roman Empire due to their opposition to the Papacy. Why is this significant? Because God then shows what the little horn will do. It speaks against God. The pope indeed speaks blasphemy giving itself the title of the vicar of Christ. Or even Jesus Christ on earth. Pope has self given authority to forgive sins which only God can do. It will oppress the saints. We all know about the Inquisition. It will intend to change God's festivals and laws. They indeed changed the Sabbath to Sunday and the Passover to Easter. All of pagan origin. And finally they had authority over God's people for 3 1/2 years or prophetically 1260 years (1 day = 1 year). Finally I say, if it wasn't the Papacy then who did those things prophesied in Daniel 7?
