I was out at log cabins back in 2007 during a rising swell it was about 6 to 8 ft and coming up quickly. All of a sudden the horizon went dark and this dude sitting out at rock piles goes on this massive wave, huge boils everywhere, and pulls into the biggest barrel I had ever seen up to that point, right in front of me. It was Nathan Fletcher.

What a completely unique character... not that most surfers aren't, there's a lot of character contained within this soul, multi - skilled, lateral thinking... a very, very interesting man and an insight into just who the heck the guy is... Jamie... just one thing mate, let the surfers have more of a say instead of formulating such a lengthy, long - winded lead into every question, no talking over the top, just get the questioning a little more succinct and hold back that enthusiastic urge that compels you to repeatedly interrupt... otherwise, all of your experiences, which form the basis of your unique insight into these watermen is par excellence, must watch material. Kind regards from an old (58 now) 'Bra boy... :)

Not really because alot of them have problems with meth and that is why they are so wired. I never knew till a friend of mine that knows some of these guys told me. I was bummed out and I know it's not all of them but even the ones on crystal are more aware of life than most politicians but those guys are usually caught smoking crack with bookers in shady hotel rooms. All sounds fun but to rule people like kings one should be sober to think straight when shot goes down. Sorry to reply to your comment but all should know the truth and the guys that surf giant waves with out having to use meth have my vote too brother.

Code red swell I love how honest Nathan is when he says he only caught 2 waves. Just think about all the everything and at the end 2 waves. Of course that was insane but most people would never imagine that count. Nathan sounds very wise and a great story teller. Honest words and kind of weird knowing he was barely getting by. These surf companies are so cheap and run by some weasels.

That's not fair too say and I doubt you would ever say that if he was even standing any where close to you. He has.surfed so e of the biggest waves ever and am sure he has a few problems with body but you my friend would be dead and so would I. If he is fucked up on anything then he handles it great because he speaks with wisdom and true heart. Would love to see an interview with you, it would be crickets chirping.
