I love Ken's new "jabs" this time around "Foolish" "Try stopping me" "Pay attention" "Punk" "Amateur" "sit down and SHUT UP" It's crazy how much and how great they made this
My beta thoughts so far are these: Guile is completely cracked. Juri is pretty good. Chunli has some sort of nutty damage and good corner carry. Ken has better corner carry, a bit less damage, but better pressure. Ryu can absolutely blast you.
And my boy Jamie needs crazy buffs to either his dive kick or drink mechanic imo, or at least allow him to change the rekka routes without fully committing to one kinda like Abel from sf4
God I love that part in Ken's theme where the lead synth momentarily quotes the hook from Ken's original theme. Yoshiya Terayama deserves so many props for his compositions here. Making all new themes for every character without being able to just rearrange the staple motifs for the returning characters is a monumental feat and he pulled it off astonishingly well.
That Guile vs Ken match, just made me want to buy the game more.... The way the hits, parry's and blocks went off at the rhytm of Ken's theme was just beautiful, im talking about 9:02
I don't play fighting games, but I'm unreasonably excited for SF6, I love watching these matches, I'll probably have a blast just hanging out in the Hub spectating, maybe try to learn at least ONE character.
Ive been watching the Red Bull Gaming docs regarding this game, and the developers really have a deep love for the SF franchise and reached in their bag DEEP to make this the best SF ever. They're so passionate about this game, that they literally treat it like its their child. Its not just a throwaway game for them, they know what they're doing. Makes me more excited that I pre-ordered this. The game feels extremely tight and responsive (even with a PS5 controller), and it gives you those hype in the arcade vibes with its presentation. June 2nd can't come soon enough!
We need the Simpsons meme for this poor Other Ken. (14:30) "Max, stop! He's already dead! *sob*" 22::00 Holy crap, someone who remembers that Jamie regular old Standing Fierce does 3 hits in a rapid succession - it's literally an anti-Drive Impact move that doesn't cost any Meter! But after the first Closed Beta everyone seemingly forgot that it exists (probably because it doesn't have much use in Combos).
Came for the Ken vs. Gwee-lay fights....I mean, Guile....haha, I love it when Max calls Guile,"Gwee-lay!" Seeing Ken scrap with his brother-in-law makes me smirk for some reason, like they got into a fight over who gets to cover the check after a family visit to Applebees where they drank too much XD
That second Jamie was so good but he didn't even know you can hold down the drink if you wanna get 2. Just goes to show how much more depth is left to discover for the char.
Picking this up with a fight stick for the first time. (Just want to learn fight stick so I can play better at classic arcade). Can’t wait for this. SF6 looks so new player friendly. I’ve got some experience in other fighting games, like MK, DBZF, and Smash. But this will be my first serious attempt at SF.
Awesome Ken Online Beta Matches Max. Kens Corner Pressure and Damage is crazy, Stuck in the Corner vs Juri looks very scary and Guile's Keep Away Game is still really good.
SF6 looks so amazing but you know what is sad here! Street Fighter 6 is after the Street Fighter 3 events meanwhile 0 characters of SF3 on SF6 roster... 🤐 Alex and Sean should have be in the base roster of SF6 at least... but oh well
Yeah EX has priority over any normal fireball even ryu charged normal fireballs lose to EX, and super fireballs like Ryu super can beat any EX move. The priority goes super fireball -> EX fireball -> normal fireball.
That Juri player threw the entire first match spamming jump-ins and raw DI's and lost handily. Then the next two Matches they actually knew how to play Street Fighter all of a sudden.
@@hXcJesusInAttackMode That wasn't warming up though. Jump-ins and raw DI are like, objectively bad plays that only work on novices when spammed. It's not like they were going for legitimate pressure that Max simply got lucky with reacting to. Charitably, I could say they were testing him to see if he could deal with scrubby stuff. But you shouldn't have to spend an entire match to see that jumps and DI doesn't work as a style.
It might of been from the Drive Rush. it adds 15% scaling when used mid combo. So depending on the route used his combo was scaled down to like 35%? Maybe even less, lol.
Tha'ts a Jamie specific thing. Each time Jamie takes a drink, he gains access to a new special move. And when he reaches 4 drinks, he goes into that mode which powers up his moves too. So if you're fighting one, don't let him drink, haha.
@DemiDevilQueen Ahh I see! Thanks. I've noticed that other characters like Kimberly has the 2 spray paint cans, Juri with the 4 levels, Gief with the different throws, JP with the projectiles i believe he has different levels to that, etc. That's what I like about this version of SF. The mixups are going to be insane!
Okay yeah, i also saw some wonky hitboxes in there as well. Those do need fixing. It's possible that they're already fixed- being that this beta was an old build.
Amazing Video Suzi I really loved you explaining all the little details about the characters existing in the world. I can't wait to pick it up this Friday!
Question from a noob about modern controls: I know there’s a damage trade off for easier inputs for specials but is that “only” for specials or does that extend to normal attacks as well?
only for special attacks and super attacks done using the special move button, if you actually do the manual input in modern mode you don’t get any damage penalty
Nah doesn't extend to normals, so in neutral, the damage is about the same. Combo wise though, because you're mostly stuck using the same 3-6 auto-combos, it means your damage potential is going to be lower. As classic players can push/discover combos in ways modern ones wont be able to. Though that's not the biggest deal in the world, as long as you're playing well. Just gotta make up for the difference.
@@demidevilqueen Thanks. That’s kind of what I figured. I’ve always struggled with directional inputs so modern has been easier for me to get the hang of. I want a chance to practice with classic controls at my own pace before I try to 1v1 anybody with them.
One observation: Max's tendency to go for corner carry with EX tatsu often left him at an disadvantage as it leaves him in a neutral where opponents often were able to fight out of the corner and sometimes cost Max a lot of health. Especially when he did it while already near a corner where a high damage combo would have put the opponent into corner anyhow, cost them a lot of health, and given Max a good opportunity for oki. EX tatsu corner carry seems to be his bad habit.
I've never played a fighting game before ever since I was a kid playing Tekken 6 for the PSP, and back then I was trash. Now, this game got me hooked. I've never been excited for a fighting game before until SF6 was revealed. Can't wait to learn and try to get better with it.
It’s too early to say 100% but jaime feels top tier to me. You can’t give him space bc he drinks. Approach and he has great buttons to poke with that he can cancel, a long reaching command grab that gives full combo, a good dive kick and he just flat out does more damage than anyone else at 4 drinks. 😅
Man, win or lose, I can just sit and watch people play this game with an enjoyment I haven't felt from fighting games for a long time. I guess because it feels less cheesy - there don't appear to be any "if I catch you in this ever, I win" combos. MvC games bore me to tears for that very reason.
No matter how many times I see the logo for "Buckler" my brain wants to read it as "BUGKLR", or "BUG KILLER". The design of that logo just ... messes with my head.

Max, please play against a UA-camr named “Xuses”!! He’s definitely put thousands of hours into the cracked version, but he’s absolutely insane at SF6 and I think his Guile could instill true fear into you ❤
There’s never been a better time to get into the franchise than with this game man so good luck. The tutorials in this are pretty good so you should be fine, there’s character specific tutorials and combo trials plus the single player world tour mode also teaches you a lot about the game as well
Uhhh if you mean when Guile did his Lvl2 install? So OD projectiles have a higher priority than regular ones, and will usually just outright blast through them. Od projectiles have clash limits, so if you have projectiles that are multihit, you can stop a OD one that way too. So Max sent an OD Hadouken through Guiles projectile barrage. If you look, Guile actually stopped the projectile in the end, but because he was still in recovery, Max was able to hit him before he could do anything else.
