  • In this Physics video lecture in Hindi for class 11 we explained phase angle in simple harmonic motion in oscillation or vibration. Phase of a point in SHM is the angle made by the point, in uniform circular motion whose projection is that simple harmonic motion, with the initial point of motion at the centre of the circular motion or the mean position of the simple harmonic motion.

    Respected Sir, as you mentioned in 1st case... Phase is the angle between the projection of an object at t=0 and projection of an object at time t= t.... My question is...then angular displacement and phase should be same quantity.. Because the angular displacement is also measured in the same way..

      When initial phase is zero, the value of angular displacement and phase will be same. Phase can be negative while angular displacement cannot be negative. Hence , they are two different quantities

    Plz explain.. Why the angle is lesser than 4degree in shm. If the angle become greater than shm,it will follow the other conditions. Then why there is the limitations of angle??
