When you paused at Suzy's part and said "no one is forced to do a baby voice" hahahaha I was like "yeah she's basically a 15yo baby here doing a MORE mature concept"
They were actually really popular!! Sadly there were some problems with mismanagement, and expiraton of contracts which led to the disbandment, but they have clearly left their mark in the history of Kpop!
I forgot how much I used to love Miss A's music, need to put some of their songs in my playlist again. Thank you for the reminder hahah! Such a shame they aren't making music together anymore.
I love live performance of Baekhyun and Bae Suzy's dream...it was the most popular duet that year! And Exo's reaction to the live performance...not to mention!!
Bad Girl, Good Girl is one of the most successful debuts. It did very well on the charts. I love Hush, but my fav has always been Goodbye Baby. I recommend you react to that one and Only You (their last song).
Bad Girl, Good Girl was a monster debut song. They won so much awards from that song. It's a shame that JYP Entertainment didn't know how to balance Suzy's massive individual popularity with group promotions. They were a successful group as befitting a Big 3 group, but they could've been so much MORE.
HUSH is also SOOO iconic definitely one of my favorite title tracks from them. Girl group members today always do covers of the dance too. And yes Fei is my fav member she is so stunning in I Need a Man MV with her hair 😍
you were correct with picking the pink haired girl - her name is Jia and she has a couple of solo tracks. the 'really pretty' girl is Suzy and she is very good friends with IU. they are both popular actresses, solo artists and models - they appeared together in the musical drama "Dream High"
I love Dream high. I think he should react to it bc it shows Suzy's voice better than this. Also has IU and my fave Beastly idol Taec Yeon (from 2PM). I love that drama and like the theme song from it.
Miss A has BOPS only. Thank u for reacting! Every group of the 2nd gen has a little piece of my heart...But you know which it's my favourite cofcofSNSDGODDESSEScofcof
woaw, i really miss them, they had such good voices, so sad that they ebcame what they were and that they just stopped.... Please react to more of them!
11:16: "Wow! She's really pretty" she's Bae Suzy - Nation's FIRST LOVE and the first female idol who got triple ROOKIE awards in Music, Dramas and Movies. I always knew you'd react to this someday and that day finally came. Thankyouuu sir Austin for reacting and appreciating these girls. I love Miss A. Bae Suzy is the one who got me into Kpop and that was 11yrs ago. She and IU were best friends and are still good friends. They starred together in a musical highschool drama 'DREAMHIGH' and I hope you can also react to the song with the same title DREAMHIGH or to IU's SOMEDAY which is one of the OSTs.. Well, all of their OSTs are great. Lovelovelove 💗
something I forgot to mention is that Min has a cameo on f(x) Amber's music video for Shake That Brass and so does Hyoyeon. Besides, Taeyeon is featured in the song!
Miss A was formed by JYP as the Chinese Wonder Girls (Jia and Fei, the two older members are Chinese citizens). Min is Korean American and Suzy is the only Korean national (only 15 at debut. Slightly troubling given the Bad Girl, Good Girl concept perhaps). Bad Girl, Good Girl was an immediate success. Although not prolific, they enjoyed great success with most of their releases. Nonetheless, it appears trouble was brewing beneath the surface. Suzy became a household name in Korea and there was a term "Suzy and the girls" for the group at one point. (JYP has alluded to this problem which is why he is much more careful with Twice). Unfortunately the Korea-China political issue in 2015 pretty much ended the group, at least indirectly. K-Pop was "discouraged" in China for a period and Jia and Fei eventually left the group to pursue (successful) solo careers in China. Suzy was/is one of THE top Korean CF models has now become one of the more popular K-drama actresses today. None of the members remained with JYP past their initial contracts. Their last album was released in march 2015 and the group was officially disbanded in 2017.
Thank you for reacting to Miss A. Bae Suzy, one of the most famous and successful actress today is a part of this group. Please react to, Touch and Only You by Miss A too.❤️
ahhh miss a... i really do miss them so much. "good-bye baby" was the song that got me interested in kpop and is still sooooo good!! all of their title tracks are worth checking out tbh,, "touch" and "breathe" are still some of my favorites to this day
MissA. I miss them. They were so iconic. Every comeback was something new and different. Touch, I dont need a man, Only you, Love song, Goodbay baby Sweet nostalgy
Iconic. I remember some time ago I saw video of trainee Twice fangirling over missA on their concert. And later trainee Twice features in one of their mv
The girl with short hair you like is Min (she also has my favorite voice in the group and was also such a good dancer and rapper!) Then the girl with pink hair is Jia (she has some great solo songs in Chinese, I really like Mood featuring Jackson from Got7), the one with the curly hair in I Don't Need a Man is Fei (yes she's absolutely gorgeous) and Suzy is the one you said is really pretty - she's a CF queen and amazing actress.
Miss A were wildly successful, Bad Girl Good Girl won song of the year, which is huge given it was their debut. All their songs did very well, it's a shame their discography isn't very extensive because all the girls have amazing voices! Basically what happened was that Suzy (the youngest and the girl you said was very pretty) blew up after doing a movie and went on to be one of the most successful idol/actors in the industry. From then on, it appeared that JYP started favouring her more and eventually their comebacks became less and less frequent with them finally disbanding. Currently Suzy is very active as an actress but she did release a few solo songs (my fav is "you're not the one I love"). Fei and Jia (Chinese members) are both active in China and are doing well and finally Min (my bias) has been on the down low ever since they disbanded. It's a shame on how things went given how popular they were but yeah. Some of my other fav songs by them are: 1. Only you 2. Love song 3. Goodbye baby 4. Breathe
bad girl good girl is heavily covered by many new groups these days, because it is indeed ICONIC..hush too....but they really started strong with badgirl good girls as their debut, definetely one of the best Debuts ever
Miss A was the first kpop group that I watched (back then I was more into Japanese stuff), almost 10 years ago. At first, my favorite was Jia (the one with pink hair/rapper). When I Don’t Need A Man was released, I started paying more attention to Fei (the one with curly hair) and I still do. They were the only kpop group that I watched for years until I decided to give other groups a chance last year, starting with Blackpink, then Red Velvet and NCT, and TXT too. My intention is to gradually know more groups but right now I’m obsessed with NCT and RV.
Another 2nd Gen girls group with a mature concept is After School, maybe you can check "Bang", "Diva" (this song is "my confident women mode" anthem), "Because of you".
Min and Hyo Yeon(SNSD) debuted in a group called Little Winners, later they split ther ways and Min well enter JYP and Hyoyeon SM, but both are really good dancers. PS: Min had 13 back then. And yes Jia is the one with pink hair in the first video, she along with Fei (curvy hair) are the two Chinese.
I am so early! This was such a great group! Thanks for reacting to them! Bad girl Good girl was such a great debut song! I really like Breathe, Goodbye baby, Step Up and Love Song too
Sir Austin: Is there a rapper? Me: Of course, Jia and Min! Also me: Wait they didnt rap in their debut??? Goodbye Baby, Touch, and Only You for sure I would also recommend: Love Alone: Its all in English and probably my fav Miss A song. Breathe: Fun song, the dance is kind of out there. Supposedly the song was also in like a step up movie? I dont know, I just always remember seeing the song associated with step up. Also I think all the girls did solo songs, but Fei did one called Fantasy that was so iconic. It was unlike anything other girl group members had done before, she fit the concept perfectly and even performed it live which was awesome. Be warned it may make you blush!
"Bad Girl, Good Girl" was so iconic, and it was only their debut too! miss A actually has two Chinese members (Jia, pink hair, and Fei, curly hair) and two Korean members (Min, short hair/your favourite, and Suzy, tallest/pretty one), hence JYP's "Made in Asia" introduction ;0
Koreans are conservatives They still are. But kpop wasnt necessarily. There were a lot of controversial groups in the early 2000s with questionable outfits and choreos. A decade before MissA.
Yes more 2nd gen girl groups! Maybe react to Rainbow next... 'A', 'Black Swan', 'Whoo'. There's also Secret 'Love is Move' which is a great classic. Or you might as well give T-ara another try! 'Why are you being like this', 'Lovey dovey', 'Like the first time', 'Cry Cry', 'Number 9'
I love Miss A! I'm so excited that you're reacting to them. If possible, it would be great if you could also react to "Touch", and "Goodbye Baby" :) Enjoy your Miss A journey!
Miss A was my ult group when I first got into kpop in 2010 (same year as their debut). I didn't discover Mamamoo until 2016, and Miss A's last comeback was 2015. It was at that time I passed the torch to Mamamoo for ult group, since Miss A was no longer active. All their songs are bops. The albums are really solid, too.
OMG, I really loved Miss A. Fei and Jia have been my bias until now. They all got solo songs and I hope you can react to them. “Fantasy”, “Hello” and "Drip".
Omg! Miss A!! BAE SUZY!! ❤❤. I did not expect you to react to them. I used to love their songs. Their concept at that time is refreshing and different from other groups which makes them unique. They are well loved in korea. Definitely one of the top girl group. And suzy is just another level legend. Public calls her 'nation first love'. I think to date she still holds record for the most sought after idol in term of cf/acting/screen appearance. Sadly two of the main vocalists are from china. I think you know what happens between china and korea. Only suzy is still active now 😕
So, the girl with the pink hair, you picked out perfectly in I Don't Need A Man. She's Jia. I remember there being awful rumours spread about her when Miss A first debuted about her being a trans male. I can't imagine trying to start your career in the entertainment industry and having to face rumours like that. The girl whose voice you liked is Min. The girl with the curly hair is Fei and the final member is the maknae Suzy. She was such a baby when they debuted, like, about 15 years old and it was such a mature concept and lyrics. She was by far the most popular member of the group and got a fair few acting jobs. It always felt like JYP just didn't know how to support them as individuals while supporting and promoting Miss A as a group.
Suzy, Krystal and Sulli was part of 94 liners (friendship goals) with KARA Jiyoung and 4minute Sohyun. I hope you react to KARA ( one of the top Girl group in 2nd Gen with Snsd ) and 4minute
You didn't miss two earlier parts to I Don't Need A Man, it's the name of the mini album. I think it's a reference to the Destiny's Child songs Independent Women pt. 1 and pt. 2. Maybe I'm completely wrong, never heard it confirmed but it makes sense.
Yes, the Pink hair girl, Jia. She’s Chinese along with Fei, the curly haired one. Suzy and Min, the one you like and shortest, are Korean. Suzy was 15 when she debuted in Good Girl, Bad Girl. Min is the funny one of the group. Suzy is the most famous one and currently has a successful acting career and less of a musical career.
4:40 Seems Iconic? Yes it was. One of the biggest debut KPOP hits of all time that instantly made Miss A relevant on their debut. JYP hit this one out of the park. Girl groups all over KPOP have been covering this one for years, all most as much as SNSD songs. Very interesting back story as this was going to be the Chinese Wonder Girls but they lost some members and Lim was brought to the big leagues replacing Sunmi in Wonder Girls. Little Min had started her days as Hyoyeon's dance partner in Little Winners years before SNSD. Then JYP sent her to America to train where she'd dropped a few singles and was forgotten. Min came back to Korea on her own and when JYP found 15 year old Suzy he quickly launched Miss A with a killer track. The rest is history. Suzy became a mega star in Korea after her movie Architecture 101 made her "Korea's First Love". She had as many CF's as Yoona at the time.
I'm sure you're well aware of this now, but K-Pop used to be way less conservative and full of way more interesting mature concepts and themes. I LOVE modern Kpop but I feel like 2nd gen is by far the most interesting and diverse period in kpop. I'm hoping JYPn debuts with some sort of mature concept, since all their pre-release content seems to be leaning that way.
Thanks for doing this. I love your reaction 😍 miss A is my fav kpop group of all time. Please react to thier other MVs: Breath, Goodbye Baby, Love Alone, Touch, Only You
They're one of my favorite girlgroups. I like all their title tracks, their voices are great, they dance so well and have iconics choreographies. So sad they disbanded, but their music is timeless.
When you paused at Suzy's part and said "no one is forced to do a baby voice" hahahaha I was like "yeah she's basically a 15yo baby here doing a MORE mature concept"
Next "Goodbye Baby", "Touch" and "Only You" (their last comeback)

And FAN FACT: THIS SONG very iconic some of the big idols cover it at a music show 🥰🥰
They were actually really popular!! Sadly there were some problems with mismanagement, and expiraton of contracts which led to the disbandment, but they have clearly left their mark in the history of Kpop!

Ikr. I looked forward to every comeback they had. 😭
Bad Girl, Good Girl won Song Of The Year on MAMA on their debut year!
Miss A is a monster rookie group in their generation.
Sir Austin, you should listen more in girl group 2nd generation. You would love all the songs in 2nd gen.
Bae Suzy have a Collaboration with Baekhyun. You can watch it on your Baekhyun Week soon. The title is “Dream” 😁
yeees i love this song
Yess
I was 1000% sure that someone would suggest this hahaha
Wow...is there a Baekhyun week now??
I love live performance of Baekhyun and Bae Suzy's dream...it was the most popular duet that year! And Exo's reaction to the live performance...not to mention!!
Man, I think Min was one of the most underrated idols around.
Totally. Best voice, amazing dancer. Totally never got the respect she deserved.
Y e s
Agree 100% I miss her the most! If she was managed better I think she could have had an international debut.
Bad Girl, Good Girl is one of the most successful debuts. It did very well on the charts. I love Hush, but my fav has always been Goodbye Baby. I recommend you react to that one and Only You (their last song).
Miss A songs were always so catchy. They're all still stuck in my head.
4:46 yes. this song was HUGE hit like SNSD's Gee, Wonder girls' Nobody and Brown eyed girl's Abracadaba. too bad that they disbanded
2:09 TRUE!! In 2nd generation girl group you cannot hear a baby voice or cute voice.
PS: Independent Woman Part III is a homage to Destiny’s Child.
Part 1 and 2 is Destiny’s Child so they made Part III 😁
2am's cover of bad girl, good girl is HILARIOUS
Miss A never missed with their songs! Bop after bop every year
u know what? the girl who is your favorite, she is Hyo's bff, they have been friends for almost 20 years.

Every song of theirs is honestly Iconic ... Like f(x)
their all songs is a BOP
I'm sure you're well aware of this now, but K-Pop used to be way less conservative and full of way more interesting mature concepts and themes. I LOVE modern Kpop but I feel like 2nd gen is by far the most interesting and diverse period in kpop. I'm hoping JYPn debuts with some sort of mature concept, since all their pre-release content seems to be leaning that way.
Yesss! 2nd/3rd gen is still my fav. I miss the sexy summer queens like SISTAR!
Touch ! great performance
Dream by Suzy and Baekhyun is one of my favorite songs istg
Thanks for doing this. I love your reaction 😍 miss A is my fav kpop group of all time. Please react to thier other MVs: Breath, Goodbye Baby, Love Alone, Touch, Only You
They're one of my favorite girlgroups. I like all their title tracks, their voices are great, they dance so well and have iconics choreographies. So sad they disbanded, but their music is timeless.
