Convenience note. Allways make your intake and output couplers to match your directions of flow for both sides. Use a female coupler on the intake/suction side of the pump (not male on both) so that if you have to pump long runs or do high lifts that need two or more pumps in series along the line run, to handle long distance and or larger elevation changes a single pump can't overcome, you won't have to use male to male adapters to hook the discharge line set of one pump to the next. Also adding a check valve to the inlet (intake screen end) of the suction hose makes priming far easier being all you need to do is put the hose in the source fluid and shake it back and forth or fill it with said fluid and lift it above the pump to get it to prime the pump.
