    You are currently my most favourite history guy in youtube. Before, it was Kings and Generals and Historymarche. From your first video to this one, you have never disappointed me. Kudos to you.

      Yeah kings and generals used to be great but his reporting of ukraine os fpr me way too politicised and feels like a onesided and very pro ukrainian report which made me stop watching the videos history marche is still good but sandrhoman used ti make so many great videos about sieges but currently doesnt feel so interesting but historylegends videos on the seven years war are just so great and of some other league

      @@imoutofideas8515 I had the same thoughts on Kings and Generals. They are feeling more like propaganda than actual history.
      Sandrhoman history maybe hit its first creative block, I still watch the old siege videos. Currently House of History is making the best history documentaries, that too on topics that are mostly not looked upon by the popular channels. No wonder it has become one of my favourites.
      Also I like his narrative style, how he sits and discusses. Oh I also should mention Armchair Historian. He also has a great narrative style.

      Tbh I really like K&G's historical videos, i hardly watch anything related to modern wars there, their first crusade, alexander and italians wars videos are great! They started a peloponnesian war recently too so that's cool. Biggest gripes is that the ukraine content kinda took over for a while and made them go from my favorites to second favorites.

    So glad to see that your channel is covering the Austro-Prussian War in more detail than others. A friend and I wargamed the Battle of Nachod, and the results were almost identical to the historical outcome.

    Preposterously poor generalship on behalf of the Austrians. The prussians, being the invaders were at a disadvantage in that the Austrians had the time to prepare a battlefield of their choosing in favorable terrain. Instead they squander their advantage, attacking an enemy situated on higher ground. A butcher, a baker or a candlestick maker could have made a better choice than that.

    • @Khookies-lp2lu
      @Khookies-lp2lu Рік тому +1

      Between this and Trautenau, I am amazed at how the Prussians was made to fight defensive battles during *their* offensive.
      Perhaps it goes better with the Austrian shock tactics to be on the offensive, but whatever advantage they had was diminished by the superior Prussian Dreyse.
      For us, it makes greater sense to defend strategic points, especially when superior in numbers, but for the Austrians, it simply went against doctrine.
