It’s not skilled either since the hitboxes are jank like with roadhogs hook. It will get a massive hit box and distance nerf like roadhog if it stays in the game at all
Still have to play lane against him before you can afford and whenever you aren’t buying dmg you aren’t pushing lane all just to counter an specific ability and hope it works

Also yes certain characters require specific items to counter and reactive barrier should help you survive more fights At 2:13 shroud could have and should have pushed him to shut him down but at this point bebop had scared him so much he wasn't able to determine when to attack and when not to.

Early game you lack health and stamina to escape the enemy that’s your only weakness and bebop’s hook exploits that specifically, pulling you into creeps and the enemy and it’s not possible for you to get out. Shroud could’ve pushed him I guess, let’s be clear he could only push because bebop missed his hook, if he didn’t shroud would be dead. Bebop will probably escape shroud had to use all his abilities to escape so I doubt he’d have enough to kill him. But, if it was the other way around, bebop could just hook him or wait to hook from a safe spot with no consequences.
Bebop is a bit stronger because ppl are using console commands to bind his bomb to the item use key meaning that any time he hits someone 100 items also get used on them
I have also seen a guy make a build that is soley focused on maximizing bomb damage, since every time the bomb explosion hits a hero it becomes 2.5% stronger
His hook is not the problem, they really just need to nerf his early game bomb damage which would make a big difference. Seems like it would make sense for a character with infinite scaling on an ability to have it start pretty weak early on, especially when it is only on a 10 second cooldown with its first upgrade.
All contingent on him landing a hook which is a skill shot that provides no real damage. Just be happy it's nothing like pudge's hook, If bomb gets nerfed he has no proper wave clear.
Except i fought against one yesterday that just built range, was sneaking on top of buildings and around corners. And just slapping a bomb on us and running away constantly. As soon as he got all his range items, there was nothing we could do besides debuff remover, but he just puts another bomb on you regardless@tastefulavenger

Honestly a good bepop wouldn't even use his bomb to clear, that's a wasted opportunity to get a stack off an enemy champion.

Bebop is good at one thing, and even that one thing he gets outclassed by other characters that just do it better. Double bomb Echo shard "one shot combo" (which is what most folks are running) doesn't even deal half of your HP in the late game. --- You do not need to buy Debuff remover just for him (Tho this item is just Incredibly strong and interacts in significant ways with like half the cast). If you're really struggling against him, Reactive Barrier or Spirit resist (1250 souls items) are incredibly strong. Both of these items are also generally unbelievably strong defensive items for how cheap they are and you can upgrade the spirit resist later on if the opponent team is Spirit-Heavy

Problem is that you can itemize bebop so that he teleports on you and puts 2 bombs on you and youre dead from full hp and you cant even shoot back. A champ that forces you to build 6300 item just to not die with 0 counterplay is not good design.

They can't delete Bebop, hook mechanics in these types of games is the necessary evil to get good. Expecting the unexpected, counting for cooldowns. League has so many characters with the hook mechanic and nobody is babbling about deleting them. It's like a mini game inside a game where you have the constant tingling to dodge hooks and it just skill diff. They rather wanted to delete a cat that merge with a champion and heals him/her constantly. Also, the hook is skill shot, so it needed a precise user for them to able to hook you, it requires skills.
Maybe the hooks a “skill shot” but the rest of his kit can’t miss if you hit the grab. That’s the problem. All you have to think about is hitting the grab, that’s it. You hit grab it’s almost a guaranteed kill

If you get hooked again like all the time, it is around skill issues already. You see in this video, when the Bebop misses his hook, he got focused fired right away and killed because that is the only thing going for him. That's what his kit is made for, imagine hooking someone and you can't kill it after? The only reason that is frustrating with this is that, you are playing it on a 3rd person, so most of the times you will get hooked no matter what since there is a lot of vantage point in here.

Dota and LoL have a huge amount of heros where this has like 20. Listing hero’s from games that play completely different makes no sense. Better to compare Sylvanus from smite. Both 3rd person mobas. Sylvanus is a tank and most of the time won’t kill you on his own (except when Sylvanus dmg comes back around sometimes). He has to rely on his team to kill the person he grabs. It’s less frustrating because you know own his own he can’t kill you. Bebop own his own can kill you pretty easily or at least by hitting his easy combo do a good chunk of dmg to initiate a fight.

Comparing lash who has an ultimate that can grab people is a lot different then a standard ability. Lashes ult also has a long wind up and loud sound so you know it’s coming and it can get cancel or you can just get out of line of sight. Bebop can also just grab lash out of the air. Lashes ult is has more counter than bebops grab. If it was bebop’s ult on a longer cooldown I wouldn’t have as big of a problem with it.
People are saying bebop is busted, I agree, but almost every character is pretty strong in their own niches. If you get hooked by a pudge in dota2, a friend will stun/silence/nuke him, the same should happen in this game. This is a team game, not a 1v1, eventually when the game launches, people will start to counter pick against heroes, just like happens in Dota.
Bebop have to constently hiting his hook in order to stack his granate OR have to manualy come to you in order to stick it. If the first option is skill shot the second option is very risky because you have to use nearly all your stamina to get to them and how none to get out. i would say that his very strong but requaers a lot of skill in order to not get punished if you are suck at him, but yeah he might need some small nerfs
No especially cause the time CC'd during paradoxes ability like with the professors singularity ult is what makes them so strong and deadly. Its dedicated time over a short distance you can be ultimated on by someone else like haze or seven with no chance to avoid getting perforated or fried.
Honestly bebops grab is as dangerous as kelvins ice dome against your own team if used improperly because with bebop especially, if you use it on a tank lime abrahms with in my opinion all tanks should be using lifestrike as its by far one of the strongest tank abilities meaning you get past tanks poor movement and bring them right to your team with abrahms again as an example after the uppercut, will charge and 100% hit bebop since bebop has no movement and likely wallsplat bebop stunning him and opening him up to getting deleted nevermind if your teammates are to close to you when abrahms charges as he can tackle multiple people at once meaning you could cause lane wipes id you use it on the wrong person
Hooking a fed target with bebop when you aren't turbo ahead is asking them to delete you and your team. Paradox's ult being slow gives a lot of time to your team to kill the target, it has a very high amount of Drain, you also want to ult them into your wall which silences them for a long time, The rest of her kit doesn't entirely rely on hitting your ult. His bombs are definetly overtuned in terms of damage, but expecting the numbers to be correct when the game is still deep into development is very disingenuous. Also the bombs not only being slow, but also being considered a debuff means there is a bunch of items you can buy to completely negate them.
@@naruka777 yup said what i said and even added something i forgot being the bombs being debuffs. also to add another caveat, the bombs are also duration based with a timer before the blow which CAN mean that the idiot kindly walks the bomb into their friends or creep waves but it also means that skilled players have time to get away from their allies mitigating the effects of the bomb AND theres also the time to heal from the damage of the grab and uppercut with for just one easy example, a kelvin seeing their ally get stuck could rush in and drop a dome healing enough health they dont die while protecting the rest of the team and the creep wave from the explosion while also healing the damage the bomb does to him in the dome after.

I haven't finished the vid yet, but debuff remover will remove his bombs from you. If they are going bomb build and you are getting double bombed, it's definitely worth picking up. It also works against kelvins freeze ray. Underappreciated item imo.
Hooks are annoying because they are programmed bad.... 1st: the hook connects 2nd: the hook pulls you 3rd: you get stunned for a couple of frames for a follow up 4th: you can move What if Bepop pulls himself TOWARDS YOU instead keeps his dmg keeps his indentity by being able to annoy and lockdown BUT cant just spam it to yoink you without punish Ps: Thresh in League works the same and was always viable
Reduce the scaling to like 2% and make it so only the bombed hero counts. I was chased by a beepod and he managed to land 4 bombs. FOUR! That's 10% more dmg on his bomb right there. That's completly busted.
Bebop is fine - he's a typical character in alot of games. Pudge (DotA2), Blitzcrank (LoL), Roadhog (OW2), Stitches (HotS), The Turtle guy from Paladins. Lol. Play around the hook, then punish.
I love using kelvin against bebop because I use the frozone skill go up and do a U shape towards bebop and then back so his hook just hits my ice path and not me.
one of the problems that makes bebop so annoying to lane against is the fact that Deadlock is third person shooter, he can just hide around the corner while getting the rat camera angle and wait for you to last hit creeps and then hook you

thing is they should just made beboop design to be like pudge remove beam give him krils ult. rework the bomb so it slows.and reduces movement abilities. remove the scaling ability of the bomb. remove the punch and give to some new hero. add tesla coil instead deals damage around him(pretty close) 4 yard radius or somthing. the problem aint the hook and its dodgable, and very long cd. the problem is the scaling of hitting bombs. the longer the game goes the more problematic it gets it results into you are forced to go immunity item when he does his combo.

This is my favorite part about the moba fps blend, it punishes both style players sides immensely if you try to lean to hard into either playstyle. So sweats like shroud think they can walk on people when cheese builds exists to bully thirsts like him, but at the same time you literally cannot play this game as dedicated as a moba since most mobas have more dedicated roles that dont require as much combat ability.

I've been playing a lot of bebop because NO ONE adds them to their roster. It's broken and braindead? Then pick it up and play it EZ. Also I had a pretty bad bebop game where there was Ivy and Pocket so whenever I planted my bomb on them they can just use their skill to avoid the damage. Should I as a bebop player whine about them not having a place in this game because I am having a hard time? Lol
i think the designs will be changed some more than others. they already said the samurai lady is from the previous cyberpunk era of the game and she will have a different model entirely
Anyone defending bebop is dumb. It’s the ca t that all you have to focus on is hitting grab. The rest of the kit you can’t miss if you hit grab. It’s not fun to play against and takes almost no skill and currently he puts out big dmg early game with his free combo.

You do not need to buy Debuff remover just for him (Tho this item is just Incredibly strong and interacts in significant ways with like half the cast).
If you're really struggling against him, Reactive Barrier or Spirit resist (1250 souls items) are incredibly strong. Both of these items are also generally unbelievably strong defensive items for how cheap they are and you can upgrade the spirit resist later on if the opponent team is Spirit-Heavy

Problem is that you can itemize bebop so that he teleports on you and puts 2 bombs on you and youre dead from full hp and you cant even shoot back. A champ that forces you to build 6300 item just to not die with 0 counterplay is not good design.

Also, just respect him when you are alone and don't run lanes blindly in mid-late game. With a bit of game sense and If your teamates cover you he is not that difficult to deal with, character is super one dimensional.

@@criptomart3352 Imagine thinking that its ok that a champ that is easy to pilot forces everyone on the enemy team to build a 6300 item and then proceed to get outscaled by the rest of the enemy team because you spent a majority of your gold on a defensive item. Im 80hrs in and i am consistently the most fed person in the game by a mile. But bebop is somehow the only consistent threat to me in every game he is played in. Bebop could only have his 2 ability in his kit and he would still be boring and uninteractive to play aganist.
They can't delete Bebop, hook mechanics in these types of games is the necessary evil to get good. Expecting the unexpected, counting for cooldowns. League has so many characters with the hook mechanic and nobody is babbling about deleting them. It's like a mini game inside a game where you have the constant tingling to dodge hooks and it just skill diff. They rather wanted to delete a cat that merge with a champion and heals him/her constantly. Also, the hook is skill shot, so it needed a precise user for them to able to hook you, it requires skills.
Maybe the hooks a “skill shot” but the rest of his kit can’t miss if you hit the grab. That’s the problem. All you have to think about is hitting the grab, that’s it. You hit grab it’s almost a guaranteed kill

People who got hooked will know the intimidation of that character brings, it is a psychological thing that you don't want to get hooked again, so you want to play better at dodging it. If you get hooked again like all the time, it is around skill issues already. You see in this video, when the Bebop misses his hook, he got focused fired right away and killed because that is the only thing going for him. That's what his kit is made for, imagine hooking someone and you can't kill it after? The only reason that is frustrating with this is that, you are playing it on a 3rd person, so most of the times you will get hooked no matter what since there is a lot of vantage point in here.

Dota and LoL have a huge amount of heros where this has like 20. I don’t have a problem with the hook the problem comes from the hook being a strong ability followed by a guaranteed combo that applies more cc after. Listing hero’s from games that play completely different makes no sense. Better to compare Sylvanus from smite. Both 3rd person mobas. Sylvanus is a tank and most of the time won’t kill you on his own (except when Sylvanus dmg comes back around sometimes). He has to rely on his team to kill the person he grabs. It’s less frustrating because you know own his own he can’t kill you. Bebop own his own can kill you pretty easily or at least by hitting his easy combo do a good chunk of dmg to initiate a fight.

The reason why I compare Deadlock to Dota 2 and League of Legends is because of how the map works, just like I said, there are so many vantage/hiding spots where you can hook safely, that is the same thing with LOL, where you can hook inside a bush, or inside fog of war of trees in Dota 2. Bebop works with Deadlock because the map is hideous, Roadhog is not much of a menace in Overwatch because you can literally sees him from a far because he is fat and the map is linear, there is not much place where you can hide and hook. Because I can play around the pressure of laning against Bebop. If you hate Bebop, then Deadlock must not be the game for you, Bebop is part of that game whether you like it or not. If we are talking about damage output, yeah maybe Bebop's number is somewhat whack, but you have to remember that the game is still in the making, it is not finished yet, also you can call Bebop as a reverse Assassin where most of them has dashes to get in and has a lot of damage, that is basically Bebop, but in reverse, because the dash is the hook. That's why you can't compare Bebop to Sylvanus, actually I'm just going easy with it but there is another champion in League that has hook, has dashes, has stealth and a literally nuke. That is Pyke. If Bebop can only focus one at a time, well Pyke can nuke the whole team while styling on them with his in-and-out moves. And Pyke is a support character. 🤣

I like that you brought up roadhog because he was completely busted for a long time because of a insta kill hook combo which they had to nerf and he hasn’t really found a stable footing in a long time because this hero “trope” sucks. It’s either not good enough or OP Because if it’s good it’s extremely annoying to play against. The best solution is to rework it. Keep the hook but give him other things to complement it. Comparing lash who has an ultimate that can grab people is a lot different then a standard ability. Lashes ult also has a long wind up and loud sound so you know it’s coming and it can get cancel or you can just get out of line of sight. Bebop can also just grab lash out of the air. Lashes ult is has more counter than bebops grab. If it was bebop’s ult on a longer cooldown I wouldn’t have as big of a problem with it.

People are saying bebop is busted, I agree, but almost every character is pretty strong in their own niches. If you get hooked by a pudge in dota2, a friend will stun/silence/nuke him, the same should happen in this game. This is a team game, not a 1v1, eventually when the game launches, people will start to counter pick against heroes, just like happens in Dota.
Bebop have to constently hiting his hook in order to stack his granate OR have to manualy come to you in order to stick it. If the first option is skill shot the second option is very risky because you have to use nearly all your stamina to get to them and how none to get out. i would say that his very strong but requaers a lot of skill in order to not get punished if you are suck at him, but yeah he might need some small nerfs

No especially cause the time CC'd during paradoxes ability like with the professors singularity ult is what makes them so strong and deadly. Its dedicated time over a short distance you can be ultimated on by someone else like haze or seven with no chance to avoid getting perforated or fried.
Honestly bebops grab is as dangerous as kelvins ice dome against your own team if used improperly because with bebop especially, if you use it on a tank lime abrahms with in my opinion all tanks should be using lifestrike as its by far one of the strongest tank abilities meaning you get past tanks poor movement and bring them right to your team with abrahms again as an example after the uppercut, will charge and 100% hit bebop since bebop has no movement and likely wallsplat bebop stunning him and opening him up to getting deleted nevermind if your teammates are to close to you when abrahms charges as he can tackle multiple people at once meaning you could cause lane wipes id you use it on the wrong person
Hooking a fed target with bebop when you aren't turbo ahead is asking them to delete you and your team. Paradox's ult being slow gives a lot of time to your team to kill the target, it has a very high amount of Drain, you also want to ult them into your wall which silences them for a long time, The rest of her kit doesn't entirely rely on hitting your ult.
His bombs are definetly overtuned in terms of damage, but expecting the numbers to be correct when the game is still deep into development is very disingenuous. Also the bombs not only being slow, but also being considered a debuff means there is a bunch of items you can buy to completely negate them.
@@naruka777 yup said what i said and even added something i forgot being the bombs being debuffs. also to add another caveat, the bombs are also duration based with a timer before the blow which CAN mean that the idiot kindly walks the bomb into their friends or creep waves but it also means that skilled players have time to get away from their allies mitigating the effects of the bomb AND theres also the time to heal from the damage of the grab and uppercut with for just one easy example, a kelvin seeing their ally get stuck could rush in and drop a dome healing enough health they dont die while protecting the rest of the team and the creep wave from the explosion while also healing the damage the bomb does to him in the dome after.

I haven't finished the vid yet, but debuff remover will remove his bombs from you. If they are going bomb build and you are getting double bombed, it's definitely worth picking up. It also works against kelvins freeze ray. Underappreciated item imo.
Hooks are annoying because they are programmed bad....
1st: the hook connects
2nd: the hook pulls you
3rd: you get stunned for a couple of frames for a follow up

Bebop is fine - he's a typical character in alot of games. Pudge (DotA2), Blitzcrank (LoL), Roadhog (OW2), Stitches (HotS), The Turtle guy from Paladins. Lol. Play around the hook, then punish.
I love using kelvin against bebop because I use the frozone skill go up and do a U shape towards bebop and then back so his hook just hits my ice path and not me.

one of the problems that makes bebop so annoying to lane against is the fact that Deadlock is third person shooter, he can just hide around the corner while getting the rat camera angle and wait for you to last hit creeps and then hook you

the problem is the scaling of hitting bombs. the longer the game goes the more problematic it gets it results into you are forced to go immunity item when he does his combo.

This is my favorite part about the moba fps blend, it punishes both style players sides immensely if you try to lean to hard into either playstyle. So sweats like shroud think they can walk on people when cheese builds exists to bully thirsts like him, but at the same time you literally cannot play this game as dedicated as a moba since most mobas have more dedicated roles that dont require as much combat ability.

Exactly, you pick 2 targets that dont want to be hooked at all cost. If you pick abrams or viscous you can tank the hook for your partner and trade the moment the hook is on cd. It really shows people that complain about bebop never played mobas.

I've been playing a lot of bebop because NO ONE adds them to their roster. It's broken and braindead? Then pick it up and play it EZ.
Also I had a pretty bad bebop game where there was Ivy and Pocket so whenever I planted my bomb on them they can just use their skill to avoid the damage. Should I as a bebop player whine about them not having a place in this game because I am having a hard time? Lol

Anyone defending bebop is dumb. It’s the ca t that all you have to focus on is hitting grab. The rest of the kit you can’t miss if you hit grab. It’s not fun to play against and takes almost no skill and currently he puts out big dmg early game with his free combo.
