As someone who just started playing *Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines* a week ago, I find this game very attractive. And yeah, I know VTMB is from 2004, but it was somehow out of my radar for all these years, I'm in love with vampires right now!
Ah, Bloodlines. The only Vampire game that shows you how hard it is to actually deal with werewolves.
I'm 100% sold on this. I'll get it as soon as it is released, since Early Access isnt my thing unless it has everything I need already.
Thing is: is this game ever leaving early access? We’ve seen so many games on early access infinity I’m not sure this one will ever get out
I've been starved for a new vampire game and I hope this can scratch that itch!
I was looking forward to your first impressions of this game. I've had it on my Steam wishlist since it was announced :)
I think it's weird that wooden structures can't have roofs. I feel like there was a missed opportunity here to start off with a spooky cabin in the woods before moving on to gothic castles.
I'm not a fan of survival games in general, but the vampire theme draws me in, as well as the camera perspective and gameplay style, which reminds me a bit of a game called Victor Vran
i think the biggest part that was missing in your video wa the really good and skillfull PvP Combat that takes place in quit a few servers.
I played 30 hours in the last 2 Weeks and the build divirsity and the deep combat system make it a joy to play.
This looks great! I'm definitely looking forward to this.
Battlerite was such a fun game. I'm glad that V rising is getting more eyes on it, I've been keen to know more about since they announced the game. Very talented developers in Stunlock Studios
Even though vampires are awesome in this game, but the most badass characters are the vampire hunters. I just started this game and I was tracking the frost archer, there I encountered vampire hunter tristan, damn that guy kicked my vampire ass. I just run whenever I see him. I think there should be more vampire hunters stronger than him, and I cant wait to get stronger and get my hands on them. They are really cool.
I'm really not a fan of survival games. Didn't like Minecraft or Ark but everything I've seen from this game looks very interesting. Can't wait to try it. The setting, the graphics, and the gameplay are really interesting to me.
I’m rather new to the channel, and I’m curious where the outro “wander in wisdom” originated from, if anyone knows?
Jahan, DOS2
Looks very good. Wish-listed for full release!
I'm glad to see Stunlock Studios getting back on its feet, hopefully one day BattleRite will be a success :p
I play this game right now with 3 other friends and we are having a blast, its the best survival action game I have played so far! Great ckeck out of the game Mortismal!
I wonder how building works with an isometric view
i was going to jump in right away and held off. glad I did seeing as like Valheim, def will need some difficulty balancing. Dont think I have seen anyone die and so far the 2 boss fights I saw were pretty easy. Also they could add tons more building or hopefully workshop support. Still, glad this is doing well and those playing seem to really enjoy. Also, no achievements which I enjoy for these type of games since there really is no story.
I died several times to be fair, and early access titles usually don't add achievements until near full release so the jury is still out on that part. In general I do think mods, multiplayer, etc are where this game will find a long life if it does.
@@MortismalGaming You would be surprised on achievements, Vampire Survivors adds them with every update, Planet Crafter added 25 on their 2nd patch, heck dead Grid has 100, etc.
Keep up the great work.
Their prior games are also awesome
I've already put 27 hours in and I gotta say, this game is well worth the 20 bucks. I haven't even finished killing all the bosses yet. Feels like I have a lot to explore.
Kind of off topic here but I was looking through your divinity original sin 2 videos for the anathema video. Maybe you don't have one, just kinda confused on the weapon lol
Everything about it, is contained in DOS2, there really isn't anything beyond the quest to know
Hey Mortismal I would love to see a review from you about Disco Elysium!
A friend and I played it yesterday and needed like two hours for the first boss, because we always ran into other players, ganked them and ran away with their stuff. It was just too good
thanks, I will
I have been looking forward to this game. Though to be honest i will most likely wait for full release. Even if it's good as it is, a want the full experience.
Idk, i have been skiping a lot because they are in early access, there is too much games i wanna play to start with the unfinished ones, i hope they make a full release of this one
Well, it plays like a full release for the most part, if you're into survival combat games like Conan Exiles and the like. So far the only thing I don't like, which should be patchable, is that the roaming bosses will sometimes break aggro with you, teleporting out of your line of sight and regaining all their health. It isn't too bad since bosses function a bit like the Souls games, where they use weak attacks at first and 'get serious' when near death.
I'm enjoying this game so far. Biggest issue is getting around the map can be really tedious even with a horse.
One tip is to look for special cave entrances that pop up on the map when you get close. They can teleport you from one region to another, even if you're carrying resources. If you locate your base near an exit to such a cave you can teleport out into a region with the cave's entrance and use it to return once you've stocked up on stuff. You can also automate resource gathering in other regions with Servants once you get access to them.
I’ve never played this type of game but it looks interesting, mostly because of the combat and vampires 😂. Is the combat actually fairly regular?
There is a decent amount of combat, but a lot of it is building etc, I'd say about 70/30 split
Any chance of starting community server mr mortismal?
Cool check-out, not many downsides though (and other comments do suggest there's at least a couple)
I don't typically nitpick early access titles
Normally these types of games get boring pretty quick. Especially without friends but after playing 8 hours by myself. I just want to comment and say its a fun experience alone but even more enjoyable with friends.
It's longevity, if it manages to achieve any, will definitely come down to the online and multiplayer aspects imo.
I'd never heard of this, then most of the video game UA-camrs mentioned it this week.
Looks cool, but I'm bummed about EA, always online singleplayer, and they've already got paid DLC going...Which in EA I think is a shitty move.
It's wishlisted, but I'm definitely waiting a while.
The patch for playing without an online connection launches today, plus extra admin settings to tweak the game to your tastes.
i wish this was a legacy of kain game..
The thing that worries me the most is the devs. They have a really bad habit of abandoning games after some time. Even if they have some life left in them. Hope they don't do it with this one.
are you going to make a vtm swansong review? Or is it too far removed from real rpgs?
I've reviewed narrative rpg's before, but yes I plan on doing so
So it's like Valheim meets Legacy of Kain? Well my interest is already piqued. While the movement looks a bit stiff with the twin-stick shooter approach, it should help with aiming blood magic or whatnot and make dodging easier. Since the sun seems so dangerous, does that mean the basic combat is easier? IIRC Legacy of Kain had that feeling of power outside of a few bosses minibosses that could put up a good fight.
One thing that disqualifies this game for me is the 'always online' part of it. There is no offline mode for single player, and as I was watching SplatterCat playing this, he did get lags while palying solo. Unacceptable to me.
They are supposed to be releasing an offline option soon, but yeah we'll see
The offline mode patch launches today.
Hmm gonna stick to valheim and wait until full access for this one🙂good show sir!
free comment. also, i like this game.
Looks cool but I loathe early access. I hate that it is becoming the norm in the industry. Here, pay us to play test our incomplete game which we can then drag our heels and push delivery back years while simultaneously somehow managing to get paid DLC out. To be clear I am not accusing these developers of any of that practise but that is sadly too often what early access means.
Comment
Stunlock studios make pretty good games, with sucessful launches. What pisses me off about them it's how they operate. After release game will get sparse updates with every patch making game worse. After mismanaging product they will kill it off and move to the next project. They've done it with Bloodline champions, Battlerite and Battlerite royale. For that reason they don't have my money even tho game looks promising. Just as every their title did
Anything that requires an internet connection for solo, is dumb. Hard skip.
whoa! does it really?!
@@cyniczny Devs say an offline mode is gonna come later.
@@jenniferbenson1059 and knowing how Stunlock operates offline mode is gonna be available half year later
Thanks for the heads up, gonna pass myself now.
Stunlock said they would have offline mode available in just a few days.
