hell no, by far their worst. weakest songs, weakest production, weakest lyrics, weakest vocals. Ezra has spoken about wanting to make more accessible songs lyrically and ended up making an album where most of their old appeal is gone for some thing far cheaper. The trilogy is where it's at. This album resides far below.
This is actually one of my faves on the album. Reminds me of la la land and is lyrically genius. Not unlike the complete album which is unexpected and amazing
TRUE LYRICS lol Skin under sun Summer breeze, summer break Oh, I was young then Hadn't made my mistake Unaware of the fall Unaware of my fate There was peace in the valley 'Til I made my mistake Quick in the night As the storm took its shape Caught at the border As I made my escape It was cold, it was dark You were cruel, you were fake Hoping for kindness Was my greatest mistake I was young then Hadn't made my mistake There was choice to get out Or remain in this state There was springtime and future 'Til I made my mistake Quick in the night As the storm took its shape Caught at the border As I made my escape It was cold, it was dark I was foolish and lame Hoping for kindness Was my greatest mistake
I love this album so much! This album is a musical masterpiece. I just love all of the different variations in the instruments. I also loooove all of the bugs and snakes and plants included on all of the videos you guys have uploaded; it gives it a nice aesthetic. LOVE YOU GUYS!
@@neweng12 It's indeed a masterpiece... But the similarity with fotb - imo - is that this one, like the WA consists in a variety of not really connected songs
This makes me feel calm and relaxed. Unlike general mainstream music, Alternative pop, and Independent music makes me feel good. Mainstream pop is bouncy, which energizes people, not saying it's a bad thing though.
This album helped me to realize, I never liked Vampire Weekend, I liked Rostam (Batmanglij) - without hearing this extremely disappointing production by Ezra Koenig and his Vampire Weekend, I never would have found the seemingly endless list of heat that Rostam has continued to produce, from his OG works as Discovery, his Solo work, and fire collaboration with artists like Hamilton Leithauser. So Thanks Ezra and “Vampire Weekend” for showing your true colors on FOTB.
This is maybe the closest Vampire Weekend tune to a bond song
omg the song name is my mom's nickname for me! :D
😂😂
My older sister's called 'Trial' and I'm 'Error'. :D
vampire weekend is really out here saving 2019
preach
they saved my life years ago, they're just doing the damn thing all over again!
I love this album and NFR by Lana
@Hannah Emad I hope anyone saves 2020
Vampire weekend is good for the soul
This whole album is God tier music.
This album has a chance at being their best, and an absolute masterpiece. Legitimate masterpiece.
Contra
MVOTC
Speaks volumes to how good a band is where there is a legitimate argument to be made for each album as being their best.
@@Evangelionlovr yes exactly that (except for fotb i guess)

Hear me now, this will be a classic

ALBUM OF THE YEAR 2019
This is my sad rainy depressing hand to the window song
Love it tho
TRUE LYRICS lol
Skin under sun
Summer breeze, summer break
Oh, I was young then
Hadn't made my mistake
Unaware of the fall
Unaware of my fate
There was peace in the valley
'Til I made my mistake
Quick in the night
As the storm took its shape
Caught at the border
As I made my escape
It was cold, it was dark
You were cruel, you were fake
Hoping for kindness
Was my greatest mistake
I was young then
Hadn't made my mistake
There was choice to get out
Or remain in this state
There was springtime and future
'Til I made my mistake
Quick in the night
As the storm took its shape
Caught at the border
As I made my escape
It was cold, it was dark
I was foolish and lame
Hoping for kindness
Was my greatest mistake
first time is creep in the night not quick
@@framcescomariacarreri5349 quick* check the song's meaning.
Yes, this thing sounds like a John Lennon's lost gem

this is the weirdest vw song and by far my favorite. life has been hard but seeing ezra & the band persevere gives me hope.
Hard not to feel the magic. Wherever I'm at in life, I hope I can always find my way back to this song, to these moments in time.
So smooth, VW always comes off classy!
This is already a classic for me
Any other vampires out there wide awake and happy as hell?
wooooo !
This is the White Album of the 21st century
Steve Lacy is Eric Clapton and Danielle haim is Maureen starkey (I guess Maureen sang in the WA)
No album will ever touch the White Album
@@neweng12 It's indeed a masterpiece... But the similarity with fotb - imo - is that this one, like the WA consists in a variety of not really connected songs
Yeah...this album is Unbearably White.
Since Modern Vampires I've considered Vampire Weekend as the Beatles of this century. That being said no one will ever touch the Beatles.
Besides Sunflower, this is my favorite song off this new album. Sick freaking job Ezra.
I got full body shivers listening to this on the train to work
Heavy amnesiac/kid a vibes from this
Came here before 1,000 views. I love how they release their songs when us vampires are awake.
I FIGURED IT WOULD BE COMING OUT 9 am LIKE PREVIOUS RELEASES, WHAT A NICE SURPRISE
The best, i cried a lot, straight to the heart, to my soul
my crush told me she found this song thanks to me :) im happy
This one has the same enigmatic, sober sound as Hudson. I love your songs like this.
Really strong Bond vibes with this one
SO GOOD. I CAN'T.
I love this.
I remember just falling asleep to this song drunk as a skunk back in May
This song reminds me of when I was a child
ONE OF THE BESTS
Awesome song

First ever comments I love You VAMPIRE WEEKEND!!
Wow
This makes me feel calm and relaxed. Unlike general mainstream music, Alternative pop, and Independent music makes me feel good. Mainstream pop is bouncy, which energizes people, not saying it's a bad thing though.
It’s strange really but I understand completely . Great pop music with complexity
WUUU
Vampire Weekend: father of the bride: Sony music.
Here early
Zach korndiddy brought me here
.. thanks kiddo
Gives me Halo ODST vibes, mostly from that Saxophone solo part (I think that’s what it is)
Highlight
Skin under sand, summer breeze, summer break...
This is prob my fav cut off this album
Not really fond of this song but I appreciate all the songs they've been putting out
Please someone tell me which song has that instrumental sax part too, or similar
eurobeat
Getting some radiohead vibes tbh
I love Radiohead! Although I hate Creep...
08/06/2019
🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
Reminds me of Queen idk
Santa Fe from Newsies
Why's the volume so low, low, low?
anyone thinks this sounds like baby grand
moomin...
minor keys, man
Well they have redeemed themselves after their 2 bad album's starting 2019.
Beginning sure sounds like Neon Gravestones by Twenty One Pilots
No
Cool globe video! I could do without the music though.

So why isn't Rostam's solo music as good as VW? Go listen to that. Ezra has ALWAYS had his hands in production.
