Just a friendly tip, an easier way to sync audio is to highlight both respective audio(s) right click then select "sync audio" and it will do it automatically without you having to line up or match any audio manually.
Hi Yammie! I usually never comment on youtube, but felt like I need to right now. I've been watching your content for a good while. Two months ago I decided to go all in on the bikelife, but the licence price in Norway is demotivating, so I bought myself five 50cc mopeds to flip (Rieju RS2, 2 Yamaha TZR's, 1 ATV and a Derbi GPR). I've now sold three of them with a good cunk of profit. I only have a car licence, but on friday I will start my journey on the license. Schedueled for the A2 theory exam in the morning, followed by my first driving lession on a CB500F. You've introduced me to this and I want to thank you for your content and motivation:) keep up!
@@MasterAaron Update: achieved A2 license two years ago and rode a Duke 390 for two seasons - upgraded to the unrestricted A license six months ago, and bought my amazing Yamaha FZ6. A lovely bike, can’t wait for the riding season! Ride safe. 😊
This was by far one of my favorite videos of yours that I have seen over the years, hearing and seeing you critique and break down your own moves and it's so easy to see that your loving it, definitely put a smile on my face to watch. Look forward to the next one.
Hey there! Another way to line up audio in premiere is to select the clip, and audio, then right click, and select "synchronize". Does exactly what you did, just a bit easier!
At 4:20 to 4:30 your theory about the audio from the Tascam sounding better than the GoPro is technically incorrect. Yes the Lavalier microphone plugged into the Tascam sounds better but it isn't due to the Tascam unit itself. It also isn't the microphone you are speaking into. It is in fact the signal to noise ratio you are hearing. While your recording environment was somewhat quiet, unless you are in a sound stage there is always room tone or room noise that becomes your noise floor. In your case here it was pretty quiet but imagine you had an HVAC system running in the background and it was noticeably louder than the room tone you had here. If you are behind the bike but recording to your GoPro's onboard microphone ten feet away, your voice might be at the same level as the HVAC noise and you would have a poor 1:1 signal to noise ration. Again, signal is your voice, everything you don't want to record is noise. Now move the microphone (doesn't matter whether it is the GoPro or a microphone connected to your Tascam) closer to your mouth. The noise level will stay the same but your voice will record much louder. If your voice is now three times as loud as the background noise you have a signal to noise ratio of 3:1. So while you are correct in the Tascam sounding better it is because you are physically closer to it. Nobody seems to care about the technical theory but since you put out the effort to make this video I wanted to pass along the technical reason for why your audio sounded better with the Tascam. I thought you might appreciate this as you do record clean audio.
Thanks for the knowledge Yammie. Just bought a Yamaha MT03 and I’m already making friends on the channel. You’ve been so much help. Keep the vids coming and ride safe!
This was a very informative and helpful video, thank you. You nailed it in terms of providing people with the fundamental knowledge/set up that's required whilst also keeping it in a condensed format. Great work.
On the front mount helmet setup.....I fixed my angle without flipping the camera inside down. I used the j-hook and got the extension bar. They make long and shorts and you can get them straight to straight. The original GoPro extension are 90* offset. This way I can set my lid down without the camera hanging down below the neckline. I got a RHPA 10 helmet
Chin mounts makes a great 3D printed GoPro compatible mount, some specialized to specific helmets, that will allow you to put the camera "right side up" and getting closer to true fov and not have the angle problem. Great video well presented info.
Nice instructional video. I'm just starting out with motovlogging so I am still learning with every vid I make, but I can already recognize everything you talk about in this as being where I'm working towards, particularly the editing info. To me its all advanced stuff, to you its just normal!
I’m really going to use this. Thank you. Let’s see where it takes me. I’m at about 10k right now from pretty much one video. Time to take this seriously.

Great tips. I just got a custom GoPro mount made specifically for the chin of my helmet (make/model-specific). I also just got a Movo ACM400 that's specific for motorcycle helmets. You're probably moved on from some of this after 2+ years. Loving your videos, I'm always learning!
Good stuff. I was wondering how to get good audio and then how to synchronize it with the video. I love the clapping to sync audio and video. Great idea. I've recorded audio before and remember trying to match a drum track up to a guitar track and learning to read the wave. All you Motovloggers make me want to get out and record my story to share with my friends and family. Thanks.
I’m sure that the tascam would have better audio quality but could you just plug in the purple panda to your cardo or senna (most riders already have) and connect to your phones audio recorder for on the budget
Hey Yammie, thanks for the tips! That clapping technique for syncing audio is brilliant and I'm going to start incorporating it into my vids too. Much appreciated brother!
In my opinion/experience, I prefer the microphone direct to GoPro (instead of to an external recorder). Wearing a tighter jacket, maybe one without pockets, and extra buttons to be pushed accidentally while riding leaves some other possible issues later on. At first I tried recording to a cell phone with a microphone and cable and my rather snug jacket ended up tugging on the microphone jack constantly when moving positions on the bike. Sometimes there was audio, sometimes not. Also, the cable dangling from my helmet was just too much sometimes. It would get caught on the GoPro, my zippers, my headphones, my backpack, my mirrors, my gas tank, my chain (just kidding on those last few). The microphone right to the GoPro means that there is no dangling cables into pockets or backpacks and also eliminates the need to post-process. This is just my opinion but I saw someone commented about recording into a cell phone and I'd highly suggest not going that route.
Cheers for the info mate not really looking to get into it all too deep but keen to make some vids on the new bike and just something to do on top of the rides use some time up productively not just coming home from work and watching Netflix
