The physical test is not public. But 15 years ago there was another interview, and they showed 8meter vertical rope climp without use of legs. 10km run in less than 37 min, and so on.
About where they are located, there is a rule that they need to live within 1hour of inner Copenhagen. All police districts have "ROMEO" units, its like AKS lite. Both ROMEO and AKS do normal police patrol, but are limited in how big tasks they can engage in, because they need to be able to respond quick.
Like AKS, he military SOF unit JGK, is also a part of the anti-terror responce, equiped with cars that blends in, but have blue lights installed.

I have been confronted by those at Rosenborg Castle, that have some of Denmark's most expensive treasures. I was in to see the treasure with family. An alarm went off inside the inner room and everything was closed. We were told over the loudspeakers that the Danish special forces were on their way and we should just take it easy. After some time they came in with lasers and weapons they were on high alert the whole time. After they identified us who was in there, there was a child crying they waited to see if it was a false alarm, which it was. Afterwards you could see they relaxed a little bit more. On the way out of the castle, we saw that the whole area had been surrounded by military and police when we came out. I would say it added a bit to the exhibition experience. I have later been lucky in my work to be inside and film a crown. There were three of us for the filming and we were locked in with the police and two curators came with the crown. While we were filming, the castle was completely closed off and surrounded by military. A great day at work 🙂

Also why the boat will not maintain permanent contact on side of ship. What if the ship turns into the boat. It could easily push and even capsize a small RIB boat. Then it isnt one trooper at risk, but a boat full.
So come along, drop one guy to the ladder, take evasion distance in case ship does hostile/evasive maneuvering, one guy up, move in, drop next guy on ladder, rinse repeat
One just has to trust the troopers to train and know right holds to not drop of the ladder.
Climbing onto and up that ladder can be alone a thing to be trained for hours and days on repeats on dry land, calm water and then ever more unstable and bad conditions

    Some further information:
AKS is indeed a centralized unit and is THE premier police unit. The danish police however also has a kind of intermediate unit called Reaktionspatruljen (Reaction-patrol/Reaction Force Unit). These police officers also have further specialized training regarding weaponry and handling more dangerous situations. These police officers also conduct ordinary police work and every police circle has a unit. These are often the first coodinated responders to diffucult situations and thus have taken some work away from AKS allowing AKS to really train and specialize for the absolute high end stuff. To my understanding Reaktionspatruljen also serves as a gateway to AKS for most ordinary police officers, first becoming a part and serving in Reationspatruljen and later trying out for AKS.
    Also:
The danish police has a specialized recruting system to AKS for former and current danish Jaegers (danish army) and Frogmen (danish navy) (the danish special forces) that whishes to join AKS. To my understanding these get a shortened and specialized police education and are directly recruited into AKS without having to serve as ordinary police officers which is requirement for ordinary police officers.

The Danish Special Unit within the Police is called "AKS = Aktionsstyrken" in Danish term.
It consist of policemen, who has been chosen to become a part of the unit. But the unit does not always have enough qualified policemen , so they also use men from the special forces within the country to provide man coverage, such as the two special force units "Frogman corps and Jaegercorps". Which would equal to the american versions of the Navy Seals and Delta.
The drivers of the boats used by AKS, are always operated by Frogmen, because they're loaning them from their storage.
Also the Danish police does not have their own Helicopters, and are provided by the Danish Royal Airforce as support.

I'm afraid that not actually true, i used to believe that he was descendant of Harald Bluetooth as well. I don't really remember the details, but at some point the king failed to produce an heir, and so a successor was chosen from one of the affiliated noble house, I think from Schelvig to become the new king, and thus the line was broken. "Forsvaret", as our armed forces are called, is a joke and has been so for a very long time. Last year more than 1600 professional soldiers quit the Danish Armed Forces, because of lousy wages and insufferable working conditions, and noone is there to replace them. Our politicians are even talking about conscripting women to close the gap. Yes that situation could maybe have been different, but it wasnt and i honestly doubt it would have been... But had it been the case i would hope the Swedes had shown the same determination to disobey orders and go save the danes.. the situation showed the danish willingness to fight despite being ordered to wait.. they went head on into it, obliterated the enemy without a single casualty and saved countless Swedish peace Keepers lives... We should all respect that.. im just trying to let you know that danish military today has one small advantage that many nations military hasnt yet... Experience from modern day war zones.. experience from the Battlefield, and that does count for something in the end but is often forgotten, even by Danes.
The size of the danish army is irrelevant, as we are a country with only 6 million people we cannot have a standing army of 1 million, we do however in case of invasion have a huge pool of manpower that has completed basic military training, just like you in Sweden.
We also have to differ between the professional army/soldiers and the recruits.
The proffesioal soldiers, the ones on Contract are very experienced.. yes very few, but in a combat situation worth 3 times their numbers, other nations that has fought together with the danes all say the same.
The professional danish soldier (not only special forces) are way above average.
Experience counts for alot.. courage and willingness to fight does too.
Just like equipment ofcourse, and that could be better in the Danish army without a doubt.
As a veteran i know that some branches of the military in Denmark are lacking in certain areas, silly politicians has tried to cut the military for many years and made bad decisions regarding scraping gear and buying new gear, that has however started to change now it looks like.
Denmark has some very experienced "special forces".. but ultimately we have a small army, navy and Air Force after years of neglect.. the danish soldier however is very well trained and combat worthy.. its the politicians and leadership that is the problem, something most will admit if asked.
I feel its important to differ between the quality of the individual soldiers and the state of the military.. the individual soldier is of high quality, with lots of experience and good training but the army in a sad neglected state, as the guy basically also was saying.. most of us that has been in the military here will agree on that.. run down bases, not getting the gear they want because of politicians and a sad salary because funding was cut, are the major issues and is why some soldiers dosnt extend their contracts.
As a former American president said very well "Denmark punches above its weight class".
That dosnt mean that our small army can take on the world, nobody in Denmark believes that, it does however mean that the average danish soldier shouldnt be underestimated.
Again its the quality of the soldier and not size nor state of the military as a whole.
Also, its important to mentally think you can handle a situation, the moment you doubt you are doomed to fail.. moral is a key ingredient.. in the army, in sports and irl.
One on one vs many nations soldiers, i would probably put my money on the danish soldier, not really because im danish, but because i have seen first hand how we operate in a war zone, (i have been there myself) and i value experience and training.
Personally, and im not Swedish, so the only problem i see with the Swedish military is lack of real experience, you have really great military equipment and air force.. the experience part is going to change with the Nato membership and the abandoning of neutrality.
I know nothing about Swedish politics regarding the military, so i cant comment on that.
To end this long comment, the guy you replied to isnt excactly fair in his claim, he probably has never he served abroad and his mention of Ukraine really dosnt make sense., he seems very negative about the entire army and everything about it, even the soldiers.. whereas i try to be fair and point to both the upside and downside of the danish military.. in that regard i hope you dont just take all the negatives as the only Truth, its not as black and white as he makes it sound like.
If people can only bash, i would personally look into it myself or get a second opinion from someone with a bit more experience.. it goes for everything in life..
Dont just take my word for it either.
I served close to 10 years in the Royal Guard, we are classified as Elite Infantry, i did 2 x 6 months in the middle east and my basic training was 12 months.. and as you probably already figured, im a older guy.. well into my 40's.. and no.. im not fat 😅
But i think most importantly, this video isnt even about the military but about the police special Operations team, so both the comment he replied to and his own comment is off topic.. just saying 🤷
And dont worry Olaf, i still love you alot.. please dont ban me 🙏🤗

There are sections of these all over the country. But they are primarily used for supporting normal police work. The Anti terror cell is located in Copenhagen. But.. Denmark is small. And the Army's special forces, that have an anti terror cell, that can do all this stuff as well, is based in Northern Jutland.
We have the anti terror stuff quite good covered.

And the farthest distance between two places in Denmark 99,9% of the time, is around 465km in a straight line. Which would make the travel time at around 1h30m to 1h40m.

Situation was resolved pretty quickly (they thought we were terrorists), the older guys in the squad realised a mistake had been made, but really thankful those guys were the first ones in, as the younger of the bunch were pretty hot headed. Not sure how that would have ended if they had been leading the attack.

We have a set of kinda baseline physical tests that one would need to complete to be considered for qualification. I would expect the SIU to have the same standard as the other SOF teams, being cat-5 which includes
1.8 mile run with a max time limit of 12min (faster is expected).
Multi-Stage Fitness test (Biptest) which will be a used instead of the 1.8mile run in cases of extremely bad weather. you will be running on an around 65-foot straight track back and forth at increasing speeds, to qualify at cat-5 you'll be running for around 12min and at the end reach a speed of around 8.5mph you are finished once you fail to reach the 65-foot distance in the allotted time for the 3rd time.
after this, there is the strength test which is.
    split squat : 3 sets of 15 with 44lbs
    Dpis on a rack : 3 sets of 5
    chin-up : 3 sets of 5
and last 35 burpees in 2min
failure to complete any of the above results in immediate disqualification

**The Sirius Dog Sled Patrol** (Danish: Slædepatruljen Sirius), known informally as Siriuspatruljen (the Sirius Patrol) and formerly known as North-East Greenland Sledge Patrol and Resolute Dog Sled Patrol, is an elite Danish naval unit. It conducts long-range reconnaissance patrolling, and enforces Danish sovereignty in the Arctic wilderness of northern and eastern Greenland, an area that includes the Northeast Greenland National Park, which is the largest national park in the world. Patrolling is usually done in pairs and using dog sleds with about a dozen dogs, sometimes for four months and often without additional human contact.
The Sirius Dog Sled Patrol has the ability to engage militarily, and has done so historically. Its purpose is to maintain Danish sovereignty and police its area of responsibility. The physical and psychological demands for acceptance into the unit are exceptional.

The Danish Aktionsstyrke (AKS) is the anti-terror tactical branch of Denmark's national security and intelligence service, PET. They perform a range of tasks including situations involving anti-terror actions, hostage situations and kidnappings, but are also used in connection with keeping heads of state safe in a "secret service" function. AKS train with the military's special operations Frogman corps (FKP) and the Jaeger corps (JGK). Interestingly, AKS can call on personnel from these special branches when needed, and they will then operate under the command of the AKS, (as military force cannot constitutionally, be exercised against the civilian population).

Just wanna say that it is indeed open to women as Denmark is pretty strict when it comes to allowing anyone regardless of gender to get into jobs like this.
But not a ton of women (compared to men) become police officers, and women don’t seem to apply for jobs like this as much as men (which is a whole can of worms we don’t need to get into), so when only 7% of applicants get accepted it does make a bit more sense.
We’ve had restrictions on a few jobs, but those have been a part of the army and have (to my knowledge) been abolished to fit with our constitution (no discrimination based on sexuality, gender, race, age, religion, etc.) this was usually smth you saw with the royal guards, a large portion of those (through the years, not so much anymore) were drafted, since only men can be drafted it made sense to keep it that way.
(The government is currently discussing expanding the draft for women) (the draft is not solely for the army either)
Denmark is a weird little country and we do have a lot of special forces compared to our size. But keep in mind that our forces serve the kingdom, and not just the country :) This means that they serve Greenland, the Faroe Islands, and ofc Denmark. So they need to be able to cover a lot of different terrain and (types of) threats.

Tasks that the public never hear about. They have to know their own limits. Way back, when president Clinton visited Denmark they spend 72 hours before his arrivel in small holes around the airport. Just to make sure, that there were no suspicious activities around the airport😮
