Good play-calling along with a great QB can help mask weaknesses with the O-line. Washington had neither in 2023. 2024 obviously remains to be seen, but the O can't be anymore unbalanced than it was in 2023. Steve Spurrier's offense wasn't even that unbalanced. And it was no secret that he hated running the ball.
Yeah the vets don't need to play unless they want to. A couple series now and then being off for 2-3 weeks won't make a significant differnce. And the risk that somebody gets dinged up amd has a lingering impairment or a full blown injury isn't worth the risk. The squeeze aint worth the juice B

Btw, all his throws in the preseason were quick, under 2 seconds, which took a ton of pressure off of the oline. I don’t think that can be sustained in the regular season but I am dying to find out.
It can’t be sustained. Teams will have their defensive backs jam our junk receivers. Or sit back and jump these quick passes. It’s going to get real down in Florida.
Let’s remember this is the pre season and dq and Whitt Jr are putting cbs in uncomfortable positions. we need to see who can or can’t play man after basically a full camp. Depth chart isn’t final. Real game I don’t think this coaching staff leaves guys on islands who shouldn’t be on islands
I like Brain as a player back in the day but he was just a return specialist, Gibbs cold never trust him enough as a running back not to put the ball on the grand. I don't like many of his takes as now as an alumni and I really not to sure of him as a person after the last 5 or so years. I just don't take much off anything he has to say with more then a grain off salt. Many teams are not playing a lot of vets and just like Tischler said just how much more prepared are your are a Payne & Allen going to be in 2 weeks from now getting 10 or 12 sacks. Maybe if our D plans on running a LOT of stunts their could be a little timing issue and keeping gap control but your talking about a 7 & 6 year vet and our middle LB a what 12 year vet. So Miami's mostly first string scored an opening touchdown with the middle of our D being the back ups and had to complete 2 forth downs to do it. Many have Miami to win their division over Buffalo and we just lost 13 to 6 against (should have been 13 to 12) the #1 team in yards gained that avg. 29.2 points a game last year. We already knew this team will do good to not have a losing record in this first year of the rebuild. I think it was a pretty good showing on the road ageist a team in it's 4th year that's expected to make the playoffs and compete for it's division title.
Jayden Daniels will suffer concussions. I think he’s put together well physically. Maybe not leg injuries but his carelessness will cause too many concussions. He’s already suffered quite a few already.

A Commander DB playing against any NFL player is an uncomfortable situation.
A savy offensive lineman will own Jamin Davis.
Tampa should blow Washington out in a few weeks. Our QBs haven’t thrown one TD. Our defense is spotty.
The best teams are playing their starters. Washington is not one of them.
