I have a co-worker who's from Czech Republic and I was shocked when this really sweet, soft-spoken person I'd come to be pretty close friends with, mid-conversation about something unrelated, goes "I'm sorry... but I just can't stand Black people". And she's saying this at full volume in an office lounge full of ppl as if it's just everyday talk. It was wild lol

It's truly wild that you two experienced what my family, friends and I have experienced back in the '90s. We took at trip to Prague, while stationed in Germany. What's really wild, is that they changed up, after realizing that we were US military. We left and purchased in other places. I can definitely say if you want 100% real crystal anything, go to Prague. We didn't let that one incident ruin our trip.
Hey guys! I just discovered your channel. I'm an African-American living in the Czech Republic. I'm so sorry that on your first day visiting Prague you had that negative experience. I'm happy that in the end you had a pretty good time. Here's my take on being black in the Czech Republic: Folks here are not very experienced in dealing with people of color, so, yes, they stare and I also have been followed in some shops. As a matter of fact when I first arrived here I had dreadlocks and some people would straight up take photos and videos of me. It's a little different in Prague, but Czech people tend to come across as unfriendly because they don't smile much and are a bit shy about speaking in English. In some ways Prague is familiar with tourists from around the world, but unfortunately, there are some communities with people of color (like Africans and Roma aka "Gypsies") where some "shady" incidences have occurred in the city. Czech Republic is a beautiful country with so many nice places of nature and tons of castles and cute lil villages. I hope that you guys will be able to come back and even check out some of the beautiful smaller cities like Cesky Krumlov, Olomouc or Brno. Take care and safe travels!
100% spot on! I used to stare back them the same exact way, which would make them get nervous and turn away. I agree about how beautiful the country is. We would travel to Prague to shop and then go down to Berchtesgaden in Germany. I still have my 100% crystal chess set, I purchased in Prague from the '90s.
I thought I was the only one who noticed they don't smile. They are quiet on the trains too. I asked a tour guide why they don't smile or talk. She said because when they were under communist they had to be quiet so it's developed from that. It's a beautiful city and they can be a bit unwelcoming in restaurants until.I leave a tip in USA dollars which was more than the price of the food then the " thank you madam " came out. I think it's just lack of exposure why they are like that.

Thank you'll for sharing this with us!! Wow, just amazing!! I can really appreciate the architecture of this country. And tbh, I've never heard of it before, so thank you'll.
I spent 3 months in Prague and so many other countries, and as a brown person I had to hunt for a cashier. Most of the times there were no employees on the floor. Security was downstairs. I often tell people how different it is compared to NYC where I am followed in stores. Sorry you experienced that. Also, as an American I felt odd being stared at on the streets of Prague. Their faces are also not friendly until you start talking. I found out the people were more curious about people of color and actually appreciate them because they don't see us as much,. It's what I had to learn. We are even considered exotic there. The American prospective of race is different than there, especially amongst the younger people. Just things I learned. Prospective is everything.

It's like a movie 🍿🍿... lovin it
Thank you'll for sharing this with us!! Wow, just amazing!! I can really appreciate the architecture of this country. And tbh, I've never heard of it before, so thank you'll.
🔥💯
Enjoy yourselves and yes that is crazy how that security guard was following you both
I spent 3 months in Prague and so many other countries, and as a brown person I had to hunt for a cashier.
Honestly you guys handled the situation so well.
I just found your channel this is one of the best detail videos of Prague you have captured all of the beautiful buildings . Love the small detail history ! The true honesty, of the food . I definitely subscribed today
Love love love
My friend said Prague was hos favorite city in Europe, I see why. I'm going to make it one day!. Glad y'all are having fun

I’m loving this trip. I feel like I’m there..thank you all for always sharing the wonderful adventures. It gives me hope one day to travel with my love when he comes along. ❤️
It’s so sad but it’s a reality for a lot of us. This exact same thing happened me to in a Victoria secret in Chile. I mean from the second we walked into the store we were being followed around. To the point where he literally ran us out the store. I’ve never experienced something like that before until that day.
This is my FAVORITE vlog of all. I love it , Exploring the world with your bestfriend/soulmate is the best
Oh this is awesome thanks guys for all the amazing footage 🥰 sb: don’t allow anyone to steal your joy 🌍🙏🏾

Oh wow! I’m glad you enjoyed your trip! My family and I stayed in the same hotel! 😊 The H&M situation happens to the melanated type all the time! After awhile, you get used to it, unfortunately!!! 😅 My perspective when traveling around Europe, they must think we’re royalty with all the inquisitive looks! 😅😅😅 Stay black and enjoy your travels! ✊🏿

Bro, why is this video not viral?
I don’t know how you all showed up on my UA-cam channel, but I’m so glad because I really enjoyed your video. I LOVE to see people who look like me going around the world, and doing it with integrity and respect . I’m proud of you all because it’s time that people see us for being more than skin , which doesn’t define us. I was in the Brussels , where I didn’t leave the airport because I was headed to Gambia west Africa. Some of the people working in the airport were just rude ,like if you needed to ask them a question . I’m a light black woman , but black is black all over the world to ignorant people. May GOD bless your journey wherever you all may go ,and always pray and send GOD ahead of you and GOD will keep you safe from all hurt , harm , and danger.
Loving the new edits, information screens, and sounds!
This is what happens when we make their modern history more important than our ANCIENT History that they imitated & stole. Go where you are loved & appreciated and can smile next to Ancient Statues that are Biblical & look like you. 🙏🏿🤴🏾👸🏾👏🏾
Where is that we hated everywhere 🤔

Shout out to you two nomads. Great content and energy. Your travel spirit is strong.
The rent a cop reminds me of that scene in the movie “Boomerang” with Eddie Murphy.
He even looks like the guy from Boomerang!!!

Memories of ham hocks dancing in my head…by the cement pond. Looks 😋
Little man did the most in H&M. I’ve read on some travel forums that type of thing happens a lot in Europe unfortunately. 🥴Y’all didn’t let his small body (and even smaller mind), ruin your day though. Cause joy can’t be stolen that easily. 😉❤️❤️❤️❤️
I start to follow them when they follow me in stores. It's my sly way of saying back off! Aside from this, luv the Czech Republic, also check out Chesky Krumluv, it's a town out of a fairy tale.
This is why I stick to the Caribbean and black African countries, I don't experience things like this 👍👍
But you don’t experience any other culture either.
@@jayl549 don't care to
@@jayl549 Sorry but this is not the solution.
@@saadiaarslanturk2850 sorry, but what’s not the solution? I don’t believe in letting a small minority of bigots and racists prevent me from experiencing other cultures. I’ve met amazing people from all over the globe through my travels. You’ll experience racists in every country, yes - including Afro-Caribbean nations. But simply avoiding a country based off an interaction is poor excuse to generalise it to whole. Very much anecdotal.
It depends if you are a conscious black person, And a pan african which is rare. The Majority of black people are oblivious of discrimination they think its normal, And just want to fit in to modern western society. The majority of people in europe are anti-black there are a minority which are open minded, But that will never mask over the issues of stereotypes, Discrimination.
I never even thought of traveling to Prague. Now I'm mildly obsessed with getting over there. Love this European series of Luv n Slim. ❤
You guys need a tv show immediately. Love the content!
