  • In this video, we take a look at the exciting closure of the iconic Saltdean Lido for the filming of a new TV series inspired by a novel by Nick Cave. The Grade II-listed lido in Saltdean, Brighton, will be closed on the 1st and 2nd of July for a "large-scale film production shoot." During this time, the pool and café will be inaccessible to the public, but season ticket holders will have exclusive swimming hours between 7:00 and 9:00 AM BST.
We understand The six-part series, entitled "The Death of Bunny Munro", is based on an adaptation of Australian singer and writer Nick Cave's 2009 dark comic novel.
The lido is thrilled about this opportunity, which will bring significant financial incentives. These funds will be reinvested into improving the lido's facilities, equipment, programs, and staff. This closure marks a unique chapter in the lido's history as it continues to serve the community while also contributing to the arts.

I hope Saltdean Lido are making some money out of this. The amount they’ve invested in the pool and building to bring it back how it is now.
