The Brookside writers did overuse the rape storyline too much. Sheila Grant, Diana(supposedly), Rachel Jordache and Nikki Shadwick. Using the same storylines so close together, no wonder people tuned off.
Brookside didn't have the same sort of music license as other soaps, so all the music you hear in it was recorded in-house, other than being "proper" records. It will just have been some session group at Channel 4 or something.
Brookside made it soap it's own music and it's own kids programme presumably to cut on costs as you would have to pay to advertise real kids programmes etc. Also there was no product placement in those days like there is in soaps like corrie today.
Briefly mentioned but never seen,Max's parents.

And Beth too
DD is such an annoying woman. No wonder Ron left and went with Bev.
Pat Farnham “I’d kill Max if he cheated on me” but he was alright cheating on Susannah with her! One of the closes biggest ever hypocrites🙄
Yes true, I was thinking that. She's probably paranoid because of doing the same with Max
Since when have Tracy and Lyn been such good friends with Marianne and/or Marcia that they would be on the hen party?
always seemed to that way in soaps everyone knew everyone 😂
@5:00 do you know who sings that song in the background who do you love ....

I've heard that song repeated so many times during the series; "When you're lying next to me, who do you love?"
